Thirsty Thursday... today I will get my 100 oz of liquids! I have been a bit slack in the water department lately - so today is the day to get at least one habit BACK ON TRACK! SO today I will pack a 32 oz bottle of seltzer - so I can drink it during the work day!
Yesterday was a good day... stuck to my written meal plan... drank about 88 oz of liquid... got almost my 5k steps... still need to work on MOVING... no surprise there! Today I have to come home and vac the pool - so there will be SOME extra moving, not a lot - but some!
Running a little late today - did NOT wake up as early as I have been - but that's OK, the extra 30-40 minutes of sleep are probably a good thing!
Let's see if I have time to catch up before heading upstairs! ♥

Christine... YAY for walking yesterday! I hear ya' barely do I get over 3k steps, so when I get to the 4,800+ I am ready to move to get to 5k! LOL
Oh dear... I just hope that whatever YOU are "doing"... Queen B doesn't get credit for in the end! As for DL... y'all are in the same building now right?? No way to avoid her this year?? Is she still retiring after this academic year??
Oh yes, the shingles shot - I am fine! I was nervous - but your ordeal has outweighed my nerves... so I put my Big Girl Panties on and Just.Did.It.! LOL I am fine... went to bed extra early Tuesday night (after the shot) mostly because I was exhausted and figured if I wanted to ward off the "bug" that may come along - I needed my rest! I didn't even have the sore arm, until last night! LOL I was helping uncover the pool and THAT made my upper arm ache... besides that - Nothing.Nada.Zilch. - ready to make my appointment in 2 months for follow up shot!
When Ken had his he had ZERO reaction as well - Deb at work had the sore arm - my sister was dizzy and felt nauseous for the day... Yes I agree - a day or two of "a bug" certainly trumps your ordeal HANDS DOWN!! Can you imagine dealing with a MAN if he has the shingles?? UGH!! Look how most men handle a cold!
Lisa: Could Greg rent a suit? Not a tux, but a lot of places now rent dress suits too - maybe find where the groomsmen are renting their clothes??
Sue: You sound like me... nope - no good backup for when we are out! It sucks! Glad you could enjoy your evening out.
Gabrielle: You do have some early days don't you?? I am not sure, WHY I wake up during the night like I do! Sometimes I am "thinking" other times I don't know what wakes me up - but then DH snoring doesn't allow me to fall back asleep very quickly. I have NO IDEA what was going on Monday - where I could not even FALL ASLEEP! That is never my problem! Sometimes I wake up thinking about the DUMBEST things... not anything that even matters in the world - but I overthink some of the most idiotic things when awake during the night! UGH!
Like I said earlier - no - no side effects At-All! YAY!
I ended up grocery shopping last night - my friend Cindi couldn't go with me to see Steve - and I didn't want to make the drive alone, and then not know anyone other than him - so I opted to shop and come home for a healthy dinner!
Tracy cooked chicken and squash/zucchini... LOL She forgot to cook a potato or rice or anything - so that was it - chicken and veggies!
Sad to say I am happiest just coming HOME after work - even though I think I should reconnect with friends to give me something else to do - I truly prefer to come home!
There is another house - just went up yesterday - but they are not doing any showings until after the Open House this Saturday! Tracy had plans to be out of town this weekend - now she may stay until after the Open House... she actually knows the seller! The house is for sale because the owner passed away - and Tracy works with her daughter & grandson. Not sure what she will do... I will wait for her to tell me if we are going to see a house Saturday or not! LOL

Oh Gabrielle... sorry I just ramble somedays! Actually at home we have Verizon for internet and land line... cannot WAIT for the Broad Band - High Speed to come to town (another year or so) because right now our ONLY "choice" is Verizon - DSL... not "good" internet! Our cell phones were AT&T, and we had gotten so we could text and have service here in town - just recently really. I mean for YEARS we have NOT had cell service in town... so even if we lose it now with Google Fi - it won't be that big of an adjustment! LOL We are now switched over to Google Fi... and we can still text to/from home, but for some reason DIALING the cell phones doesn't go through... gotta check with Matt about that! But again - we never HAD cell service - so losing that piece isn't a big deal. We have a nice tower right across the river at the ski resort, we can see it from here... and it is AT&T and Verizon... so I believe "in time" it will get Google too! However that works - I am sure it will all work out! If not - I can always change again! LOL BTW When you start a NEW service with AT&T you get a better deal - as with Direct TV and Dish... seems they offer better deals to NEW customers, rather than old time "loyal" customers!
YAY for getting the apartment and one step closer to DS going away to school! Yikes... yes, just before school starting (for you) would be a difficult time to move him up! How far a drive is it?
Oh so nice you could help Ty get the apartment ready for GF to come home! Fingers crossed all goes well for the bar exams this week!
Lisa: YAY for the prof letting you know his "vision"! Yup, having the work is tough 0 with wedding stuff on the horizon - but then again so is the $$... good luck! Maybe working is best - keep your mind occupied so not stressing over stuff you don't need to worry about??
Yes, thank you - more sleep is so HELPFUL - but MAN I am still having trouble "catching" up... so many NEW "little things" are coming my way, that the back logged stuff just can't get caught up!
Good luck with the car decisions {{{hugs}}}
Gabrielle: AT&T probably deserves a grumpy face!

Sue: YAY for feeling more caught up... kinda jealous of that - I gotta say! We are only in the 50s this week - when I get up in the morning... yesterday got up to high 70s, nice and sunny... Looking at 90s this weekend... hoping! LOL Yes, thank you - certainly worth the effort to get the shot. Like I said even my arm wasn't sore - Heck I get more soreness after I get my monthly injections! I always need an ice pack for those!
SO glad the headache didn't materialize for you - one thing you do NOT need this week!
Oh yes Sue - CDC Says over 50, but some insurances won't cover until 60... another 2 girls I work with can't get them yet - with our insurance! I still don't think it's "right" that insurance dictates our health - instead of our doctors or ourselves! Not to mention WHY is the manufacturer NOT making enough vaccine to handle the older population!?? Makes me so angry!
Yup, for me AT&T had gone up to over $160.00! After paying off my phone it went down to $136.00! Yes unlimited everything - but we don't USE all that data and texting so the huge plan is more than we can afford right now. We have just had it so long - it was "scary" to make changes! LOL So far so good... now that we aren't paying for the data plan for the tablets - we have to wait and see - just how that will or won't affect us. For now - I am just thrilled to be saving aver $100! per month!
UGH Sorry about the freezer... yes that would be such a mess! Hopefully they didn't lose a lot!
Shelly! YAY for the kids being there to visit... but oh my... WTH is DH thinking??? That you WANT to be tied up and not have time with the kids?? OOOOOOOOOOOOhhhh, how much I can relate to YOU being stuck in the kitchen... and no one comes to help.... OMG... I.Get.It.! I am sure that the kids do NOT feel like you are not trying to spend time with them... they know and see how hard you work... Oh Phew, Thank GOD DH knew to help at that point!! Wish others could see how "hosting" is not as fun as it sounds! {{{{hugs}}}}
Awww, sorry you have to go to the reunion this weekend... I get it... gotta go but wish you had some 1on1 time with the kids and Baby Hank ♥

♥hugs♥

Morning Carole....running through with a quick HI! Will be back after work....after I chatted to Hannah for just a couple minutes, she just had a question and it was easier to call than text. Kris called, FaceTimed with David, Jason got home with the 1st sweet corn of the season so yes, at 9:30pm I was eating 2 ears of corn....it was delish!
Need to pack my lunchbox and get this day started! See you all after work!

Good morning! Hope to make some progress this morning on project as I discovered yesterday that the first 2 binders full of pubs weren't sorted out by articles, book reviews, book chapters, etc. just all put together and the new CV that I'm working with has them separated so I started separating them yesterday, and had just got into the second binder when I realized it was time for my hair appt. So it is kind of a honey blonde. I would have liked it a shade lighter but this will probably be easier to deal with when it goes out. She did an all over color because she didn't think that lowlights were what I needed. But it got rid of the dark roots and the gray, so it's ok. and it's cut. I think I am adjusting to it.
Shelly-I read your post and felt so bad because I've been there too. You like to have time to visit with your guests but find yourself too busy trying to be a good host. And with your work schedule, I'm sure you were very upset. It's ok to rant here!
Sue-good morning! I need to talk to Kim about a couple of things today if I can catch her not at work. Do you set up what time you are going to talk ahead of time?
Carole-renting a suit is like $200 (I know because the boys are renting suits, not tuxes, for Kim's wedding). I guess I understand why they cost so much when they rent for so much. The suit is more for the wedding in October, so we have time.
Greg and I did do a short walk at Meadowbrook park yesterday, that was nice because that's where we mostly walked last year. Now Greg is having a problem with his back and sides, and I think it has to do with being a shuttle driver and sitting too much because last year he had the same problem and when he has been off work for a period of time it has gone away.
Off to style my new hair and see if I can make it look like Vivian did. She put curls in it and it was cute when I walked out of the shop. THen off to work to get my mind off of everything else! BBL!

Good morning ladies! Another hot one here--103---but bone dry. So far (cross your fingers) fire season is not too bad....fall is usually the worst time for that anyway so we have to stay diligent. Ran on the TM this morning....Thirsty Thursday is right. Doing my long run early tomorrow morning (taking my last day off from the 18-19 school year) and drinking water today really helps. I don't know if I mentioned it, but on Saturday I am going on a "Foodie Tour" in San Francisco. A group of us girls are taking the train to SF and spending the day touring restaurants and trying food. I think it will be fun (and more about walking around SF)....and then I will weigh in at WW on Sunday, LOL. Looking forward to a cool day in SF...
Carole: Yay, so glad that you got our shingles shot and that side effects were minimal! You are doing well with your tracking too---keep it up! Nice that Tracy knows the owners of that house going on the market---could be a plus if she decides to make an offer? So, how was it having no extra carbs for dinner? Sometimes I find that it just feels better. I get it, wanting to come straight home from work, sometimes we just need to relax! Wow, you have a lot to balance with phones, internet, etc. We just don't have choices so I think it is easier, LOL. So far, our Directv service has been better than Dish....the picture is actually better on our TV. You are right though--lots of perks for new customers and then BAM, after a year, they hit you with the big bill. Hope that you have a good day today...yes, lots of emotion here with the boys moving out and getting settled. I think that we have landed on a date to move Max. He would love to move on the day the apartment is ready, but it is a Monday and doesn't work for my schedule so he has to wait until Friday/Saturday. It buys a little more time to figure out the furniture, etc. anyway.
Sue: Oh, such a bummer about the freezer! That would be expensive to replace everything...poor Sarah! So great of Jason to help clean up that mess---uggh, the meat would be awful. Sounds like it is a good thing that the boys are gone from the office for now They sure seem like great, responsive bosses but it's good to have calmer surroundings, I am sure. Hope that today is a good day for you!

Shelly: Oh, I am so sorry about the time that you had last night in the kitchen and feeling left out. I know that you really value that time with them there! It is SO hard to ask for help....I am glad that DH finally got it (but it is a bummer that it had to happen the way that it did). To top it all off, it wouldn't be easy having two of the kids living so far away. Hugs to you today and hoping that the next few days feel better visiting the kids. Your parents are coming? Maybe you will get some more help? I hope so!
Lisa: Your hair color sounds so pretty! Glad that DH could get that walk in. I think that you may have hit the nail on the head when you talked about the sitting while DH drives...before I got my standing desk, I was miserable. Here I was running most days, but the all day of sitting at a desk caused so much stiffness after I ran. Can he walk at any point while shuttling? While people load maybe? I thought that the suit rental idea sounded great but didn't realize it was $200!!! Wow, you are right--that must be why suits are so expensive (or vice versa). Hope that you have a good day and can duplicate those curls!
Christine: Hope that you continue to feel better and that work is going okay...
Oops, running late now! Need to go. Long day with Board meeting tonight but it's good...things feel like they are getting done at work and it's fine. See you all later!

Evening all...would have been here a little sooner but got an email from Snapfish this morning that had a special on beach towels....regularly $39.99....on sale while supplies last and until 7/27 for only $7 each! I took several pictures from out trip and made each of the boys a fun beach towel of memories for Christmas this year.....they all got beach towels a few years ago and they look so old and threadbare...they use them all the time so figured it would be a fun gift....each has 5 pictures on it...one of all 5 of them and then 4 pictures of just them doing one of the many activities we did while there! Can't wait to see them.
Hi Gabrielle...I was like you, I thought I had posted on Tuesday as well but then realized I totally missed the day! WOW...Max heads to school really late....all the PA colleges start before Labor Day I think...I know that many at work are moving their kids in the weekend before Labor Day for classes the next week! So excited for Ty & Kate....sounds like all the pieces are falling into place for them.
Lisa...yay for a little more motivation! Glad the prof got back to you so you could go in and just get started. I totally understand the "double edged sword" of wanting the job to wrap up so you can prep for the wedding but also wanting/needing the extra $$$ the job provides this time of weddings and countless expenses!
Gabrielle....there are hubs all over the place for SW....since he will be "low man on the totem pole" he will get the hubs that the more senior pilots don't want but he doesn't mind....he is so excited to have his foot in the door and moving forward as they go from active duty to civilian life. I'm glad he can continue with the reserves to be able to get the extra retirement income from his years in the AF active duty....it's a perfect combo for them.
Shelly....sorry the visit with DS and family is going so quickly! I know I felt that way last week....I cherish every minute I can spend with them. Glad you are able to get out as soon as you can to take advantage of their time there! My heart breaks for you and having to work while the kids are visiting but you are right....with only 2 weeks vacation you have to make the best of it and having time to travel to them using your vacation time is the best option and just doing your best to get out early while they visit is all you can do! Glad DH finally helped when he realized that you are doing your best and would like nothing more than to sit and visit with them but supper doesn't cook itself! Hugs to you, my friend! ♥♥♥

Carole...I did OK with water/liquids today despite the chaos....Sherry's DBIL has leukemia and in the hospital....the other day they found a lesion on his lung and it's growing VERY quickly plus he is septic.....last night he signed a DNR and the doctors suggested all the family that wanted to see him make an effort to come soon as he is declining quickly...
Sherry...left about noon so she and DH could go up to Hershey to see him but her usual back up for afternoon paper orders is on vacation this week so she gave me a crash course in paper ordering and I had to place them today....I had done it years ago but in a different program so I wasn't totally clueless but still I didn't want to screw it up but when you work for a printer...you MUST have paper! Of course I needed a bunch of paper from two different vendors but according to the contacts I did "A-OK"! LOL! I did move a lot but my fitbit died so it stopped counting shortly after noon today!
Carole...so glad to hear all you got from the shingles shot was a sore arm! Yes....get your name on the list for the 2nd shot...they say 2-6 months after the 1st so hopefully if you get on the list it will fall into place w/o issue!
GMTA Carole/Lisa....I was thinking about Greg renting suit as well...especially if he won't really need on after the wedding! It's worth checking into anyway Lisa!
Carole...glad there is another house on the horizon....do you think Tracy knowing the owner could help her out??? Might be a good idea for her to stay in town until she can go to the Open House....if she gets there right at the start she will definitely look interested! I can understand your frustration with DSL....believe it or not, Shea's parents when they lived right behind us had to have DSL because Comcast would not run lines close enough to their house for them to get high speed.....I know it was frustrating for them, especially when Bryn and Shea were in school and needed the internet for school! Yes...since you couldn't use most of the services from AT&T it doesn't make sense to keep them....hopefully the Google option will work for you!
LOL Carole...that is ALWAYS my beef with the companies...they treat new customers better than the loyal long time customers....that's why I get on my high horse and start to B!TCH!! I usually get something out of it! It's about time to complain to Comcast again...will see if it goes up again this year and by how much!
Lisa....sorry there was extra sorting and organizing for you! You timed your hair appointment perfectly....it will be perfect come wedding time! No....sometimes our time to FaceTime and chat with Hannah is random if she has a question or something....we always talk on one of the weekend days...usually around supper time while she's cooking and then I "eat dinner" with them! We often talk one day during the week if there are no conflicts....Tuesday is usually a FT night but I was painting this week so it will likely only be the weekend!
Good news Gabrielle that "fire season" so far is not too bad....hopefully you will get enough rain over the next month or so to keep the fall fires at a minimum! Enjoy your last day off of the school year! Can't believe that next Thursday it's already August....where has this year gone?? Enjoy SF...sounds like a fun day! Actually Gabrielle...for us, DISH is FAR SUPERIOR to Direct....that is what we had first and switched!
Sarah was lucky with the freezer....since the old freezer that was my in-laws was running we told Sarah to not plug theirs in for their stuff....it was a waste of electricity.....they had eaten the last of their chicken so they lost nothing...we lost the chicken breast and one roast. All it all it could have been MUCH worse so we aren't complaining....Sarah has fired up her little freezer so she is ready for corn in a couple weeks!
OK....time to grab something to eat! Finally hungry!
