diva49, I hope your doc appt goes well. Good morning. Coffee, coffee, and more coffee. 59 degrees outside, sunny and bright, and in a few minutes I am going out and attacking the chores that need to be done. Lots to do and more stuff on the agenda when I finally finish that. But for now...more coffee! Have a lovely day, everyone. KOKO!

Good morning! I'm IN! fullmahina, love your energy and those morning temps are lovely. I have to settle for 69 degrees this morning which is very unusual for Houston in July. I have to remember what DGD12 told me: "Grammy, it's supposed to be hot....it's summer!" HA! I'm meeting 2 friends for lunch at a new place here called "Chicken Salad Chick". Various types of chicken salad and pimento cheese. Should be good and it will be nice to catch up with friends. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning, everyone!
I'm glad the weather is milder where I am. I need to get outside. It would do me a lot of good. I'm glad tomorrow is Friday.
I have been chowing down on snack food lately (stress eating). I hadn't weighed myself for a while, but finally did this morning. I'm actually relieved that I am only up 0.6 lbs. I expected worse. I'm just glad I finally weighed myself. When I stop doing so, it's a very bad sign.

fullmahina, love your energy and those morning temps are lovely. Yeah well....I was out there for 90 minutes and even though the temp is now only 69 the humidity started out in the 90% range and has only dropped a little. The sun is blazing too. I picked eight lovely heads of buttercrunch lettuce and a big pile of baby spinach (and cleaned out those planting boxes, refreshed them, and they are ready for seeds again), some more pickling cucumbers and a few tomatoes. I have filled a gallon ziploc bag with pickling cucumbers and they're waiting for me in the fridge. Planted some more dill in my herb planter as the dill I used over the winter has finally flowered and pooped out. The radishes got smacked hard by the heat and they bolted and I tossed them as they would have been nothing but woody golf balls---they really hate the heat and do much better in my winter basement garden! I'll start some again in September and they should do better then. I'm surprised that the lettuce didn't bolt with that heat last week but it survived and was perfect. Lettuce and spinach are all trimmed and washed, laid out on towels on the kitchen island. Really happy with my little crops this year. Last year was a disaster. Right now I am finishing up what was left in the coffee pot, sitting under a ceiling fan with the a/c on. Recharging my batteries, lol. KOKO!!

I ended up pulling the zucchini and 2 of the heirloom tomato plants. Zucchini were all male flowers and taking up space and the 2 tomatoes were tall, full, but no flowers. It gives everyone a little extra breathing room. Thanks to the brutal heat last weekend followed by tons of rain M/T/W my yard is a weedy mess. I'll just have to fit it in around work somehow. DGF is coming for the weekend and I don't want to spend all my time doing yard work while she is here.

linda72, love Chicken Salad Chic! A really unique choice is the BBQ chicken salad. Their pimento cheese is excellent. Had a great day. Took DD 1 and DGD to see the stage show The Little Mermaid, so fun watching DGD face. Dinner was at my favorite seafood place. Lunch today with my girlfriend. Tonight I'm going out to dinner with the twins and their best friend from grade school whose bday was a week ago. We've done this for years. The twins and I did not get to celebrate our shared birthday yesterday so today is the day

Good Morning I'm IN. 104 today and the house is closed up because our cleaning crew will be here any minute. It is 80 degrees at *;30. It could be worse. We could be living in Phoenix, Las Vegas or El Centro. We used to drive from San Diego to East Texas going through El Centro and it was hotter at night than most places are in the daytime and worse yet, it was in the 1970s and the air smelled like agricultural chemicals. Memories of road trips to visit the in laws. Gardeners came at 6 a.m. to replace sprinklers. Thursday is our busy day. I see the personal trainer at 9:45 and then have some errands including the post office and returning a shirt I bought DH at Costco. They call it bright white but it looks gray to us Tonight we are going to Town Hall where Ken Burns will present his new series for PBS, Country Music, debuting on September 15th. This is so exciting. It should be wonderful like all of his other documentaries. Stay cool. Two more days until we see the Pacific Ocean.
