Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Wow! How quickly this week went. I’m heading home today.
Yesterday we started at the Shedd Aquarium. Saw the dolphins and beluga whales perform. They have a new addition, a boy beluga that was born on July 3. So adorable. Enjoyed the penguin attraction, otters, and the sea lions.
Next we went on ghost and gangster tour. Our tour guide for that was a historian, young girl who had a great sense of humor. Learned so much about event in Chicago, the Chicago fire, the first serial killer (of course I forgot his name), Al Capone and the start of the gang wars, ... all very interesting.
Went to see the Clouds Gate, what is commonly referred to as the Chicago Bean. Awesome structure.
Ended with dinner theater, a roaring 20s type review. That was great fun. One of our tour group was on stage as part of the show. Great laughs. Totaled 12,000 steps.
Wish we had another day here, still more to see. I would definitely recommend a visit to Chicago to anyone. It’s a beautiful city, lots of parks, flowers everywhere, and the sculptures are incredible. One of the nicest trips I’ve taken.
Well, gotta run. Luggage needs to be put out, breakfast, then the long drive home.
See ya tomorrow.

Good morning from a noisy house!!! Up and dressed and bed made shortly after 7:00! Even have laundry going already!! Sent Stan to get Mara. We just feel like 1 of us should be here. We did leave for very short periods of time with the kitchen remodel since Stan had to drive me to/from PT for my knee replacement 3 years ago when they were doing the kitchen. Today they are putting plywood down on the floor of our closet where the carpet used to be. Has to be level with the bathroom floor because we are putting the same vinyl tile flooring in both and it has to meet up right.
Joy, Chicago sounds like it has been a great trip for you!!! Older DD/DSIL have gone to Shedd several times. I think they went once on a weekend get-away when we watched their girls, then they took all 3 girls back there with them because they liked it so much. We will have to combine Chicago with a trip to visit DS Carol since it’s really on the way. Safe travels on your way home. Bet you’ll be ready to book the next trip shortly!!!
Dottie, isn’t it amazing how much dirty laundry there is after a trip like that?!?! Camping trips used to be the worst because we had really dirty smelly clothing, plus towels, bedding, etc.
ok, workmen have left, I got laundry changed around, I watered and deadheaded my hanging baskets, and I just put sun tea out on the deck to cook part of the day. Stan should be home with Mara shortly. Fingers crossed for no 🤮🤮!!!!
PT at noon and maybe a nap when I get home if mara is still sleeping for Papa.
Have a good day all and I’ll check in tonight.

Joyce, sounds like you really enjoyed your visit to Chicago. There is a lot to see and do there. Hope the ride home went ok.
Ruth, how was Mara’s ride to your house this morning. Hopefully she stayed well during the trip. I’m sure you will enjoy not having carpet in your closet. We put new hard wood floor in the closet in Florida, so much easier to clean than the carpet was.
I misplaced a few cards, library (both home and Florida), my senior national park pass and a few other ones. They were all replaceable but I wanted to find them. I did find them and in the process CBed almost a big bag of clothes, shoes etc. As I was looking thru the closets and drawers I got rid of a lot of things. Actually it is all ready to go to the thrift store and hope to drop it off tomorrow. I didn’t plan on going thru closets but feel good about getting rid of so much. Now if I could just get Bill to do the same. He came home from the store with 3 more shirts – and still hasn’t gotten rid of any – UGH!!!
