WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

33 points 1925 calories 40 APs
It’s funny, I had every intention of going off-plan yesterday. I was relaxing in the evening and went inside to get a donut, Jack brought a dozen home from work the night before. They were gone. Was going to enjoy a bottle of sangria, I took a few sips and really didn’t want it. Opened a bag of chips and stopped at probably what was an actual serving. Had a couple of fudge striped cookies, never went back for more. Opened the freezer for ice cream, chose yogurt from the fridge instead. With the exception of a few sips of sangria, everything was tracked. I still came in under 2000 calories.
Went for an early run yesterday, then met a good friend for a 23 mile bike ride on the path. Her husband did some unspeakable things a few years ago and actually served time, and since then she’s moved farther away from me and I seldom see her. I used to see her almost every day.
Louise, great job on your loss this week. You should be seeing the difference in how your clothes fit very soon.
Lori, what a wonderful picture of your lunch on Friday. I never thought to ask for my salad toppings on the side. It’s a great idea; it’s hard to gauge how much there is of everything when it’s spread throughout the salad.
Nancy, have you started to think about strategies for Columbus yet? The possibilities for your eating alternatives are endless, aren’t they? And some of them are productive. It’s nice to get those small, 15 minute tasks out of the way sometimes.
Today is DH’s birthday. We’ll all go out for a late lunch, and I have a small ice cream cake for dessert. Looking forward to eating out and spending time together. Family time is a rarity these days.

Jan - Seems we're all getting away from some of the craziness. 1925 coupled with the 23 mile bike ride is great. Happy Bday to DH. Enjoy the family time. I can't even remember the last time we were all together. As for the Columbus strategy - I honestly don't have one. I'm totally confused by the prospect. I guess I can come up with a short grocery list for her. And if I could only stay away from the pantry and from the M&M's. Maybe it would help to write everything down. And maybe the two hour rule. As you can see, I just don't know. Any advice will be most welcome. Seems I never stick to any plan when I'm there. The meals aren't the problem - it's all the in between times.

Nancy, Like your note idea!! Love to hear more notes your putting in your jar... Jan, Wow, Great night last night - I don’t think I ever experienced that happening...lol. Happy Birthday to DH’s and cherish the family times!!!
I was able to spread the salad toppings onto 3 salads - made each salad delicious! The best thing was the waitress didn’t even bat an eye, like it was the norm! They had then in those small plastic cups so she just gave me the covers so I could take home. Worked great!!

Lori - It shows that more and more people are taking charge of what they eat in restaurants. I love that the restaurants are learning to cooperate. Now if they could get away from those ridiculously large portions and overstuffed sandwiches. Not to mention sugar salt and fat.

This was the start of one of my Saturday's attempts to post:
Going back and forth between Firefox and Chrome is driving me crazy. This will be my third post attempt (one on Friday and two today).
I've managed to make things worse.
Saturday's Stats: SP 26 AP 2 We only walked twice WP 25
Dinner was hamburger on a roll with ketchup and dill pickle chips plus corn on the cob (a nice zero point change).
I used the 5 WP and 3 SP to have the whole Apple Mini Pie. They are about 2 inches square. I wouldn't mind if they took the hard glaze off them. Probably should have skipped the Brownie Little Bite but 3 points weren't a deal breaker.
I had wanted to make pancakes last Wed. because there is now a more leisurely morning on Wed. Due to the shortage (I originally entered this as "storage of retired priests") of funds to pay the retired priests some of the weekday masses have to be canceled. If I really wanted to go I could drive 10 miles (one way) to another one of our churches. That however would leave DM alone longer. In any case, got some more pancake mix because there wasn't enough on Wed, I made pancakes for dinner. I haven't yet figured out how many points I used. I had them with a TBSP of LL Bean Maine Maple Syrup and one of Smart Balance Buttery Spread.
Lori-unfortunately Mom insists that I not leave the house when she's washing up. She has a real fear of someone coming into the house and hurting her and the dog. The other day she said she was alone when I was somewhere else in the house.
Jan-interesting that you didn't eat more of the off plan items. Nice that you were able to see your friend. Could you two bike somewhere in the middle of the trip, bike for a while there together and then each head home? I was able to wear a blouse this morning that is not as tight as the previous time I tried. Happy Birthday to DH.

I had three really good meals today plus an awesome snack planned for dessert all for 25 points... Breakfast was 3 lemon blueberry pancakes with blueberry compote - thepounddropper.com/best-fluffy-blueberry-lemon-pancakes/. I’ll be making more of her recipes. Lunch was 1/2 a crunch pita pocket stuffed with grilled chicken and coleslaw - sounds like a strange combo but it was very tasty Dinner - 93% Bacon cheeseburger on 647 toast, corn on the cob and garden salad w/ leftover toppings Dessert - half a mug cake topped with frozen yogurt (I mixed plain ff yogurt w/ tsp of vanilla protein powder, folded in 1 tbsp cool whip and one crushed thin Oreo and froze) Great food day plus nice walk with neighbor...
