I did WW ten years ago, and did great on it. Over time the weight has crept back on, so I'm back for another go. I used to hang out in a group called the "Wendy Plan Ladies." I did a quick search and didn't see a thread by that name, so wondering if any of my old WW buddies might still here somewhere?

Oh oh oh I think I have seen that thread somewhere here!!! Welcome to the boards kelly67 . I am going to ask over on the General Board because those folks know everything that goes on around here 😉 *I just moved your thread over here so folks could see your screen name and maybe someone will recognize you. Bueller, Bueller?

My recollection is that surfgirl was very knowledgeable about the plan, she might know if others are still around.

My recollection is that surfgirl was very knowledgeable about the plan, she might know if others are still around. Thanks for the nudget itsrad, and yes kelly67, I was part of a small group of ladies who followed what they called the Wendie/Maggie approach, the latter is a variation on the Wendie Plan. It was originally cooked up to combat plateaus in weight loss. It's basically just a way to use your WPs in a staggered way so that you keep your metabolism guessing throughout the week and it doesn't get too 'settled' on you using WPs in the exact same amount every day. The theory is that if your body thinks it has to keep guessing, then it's going to be more apt to burn fat and calories because one day it's a high point day, the next no WPs at all, so you're faking your body into a more constant burning fat state, if that makes sense. At least that's how I remembered it.
There were only 4-5 of us in that group for years, and the others have drifted to Facebook somewhere and since I don't do Facebook, I stayed here. But our last monthly thread is here, under "Less to Lose": Wendie/Maggie thread.
At the top of the thread you'll find the explanation of how the approach works, and there is a link that you can follow that will help you figure out how many points to be eating on either the PP or SPs plans. If you have any other questions, feel free to tag me here or there. I've found that this works well for me with PP, I can't speak to SPs.

I was thrilled to see your upost, Kelly! I remember reading about THE WENDY PLAN and trying it when it came out while tryhing to tweak the points and metabolism and all the rest. I was not a rabid follower but remember the plan.
You will enjoy this board. You can check any thread and comment and learn and share. Fit in and then trip away if it is not a fit and try another. You can edit (as we could not on WW boards) and express what you feel.
Whoever set up this board did a great job!
Looking forward to seeing your posts in the future, Kelly...

Thank you cathygeha, and surfgirl. I more-or-less followed the Wendy plan a decade ago, I mostly just tried to vary how many points I ate, with some high and low days here and there to mix things up. I was mostly there for the group of friends. Unfortunately, I can't remember my own old user name, or theirs. lol. Luckily I'm connected with most of them on facebook, but looks like I will have to find a new group to hang with here on the boards. I'm 53 next month, need to lose a good 20 pounds (again), and am easing back into doing WW. It is funny, I know what to do, and for a long time have resisted re-joining for just that reason. But I think I need the accountability, so here I am. A little about myself - I have one adult son and four bonus (formerly foster) kids ranging in age from almost three to fifteen. I enjoy hanging out with them, and my dog and cat. If anyone has a group they really like, I'd love to hear about it.

kelly67 , sorry I didn't mean to send you on a wild goose chase ltrying to find where I had moved your thread! 🤣 I loved the Wendie Plan, shaking things up always got the scale moving for me. It was brilliant. *We have tons of accountability groups here feel free to look around. In the meantime here on the general board we have a daily menu posting and a general checking in thread for accountability, you are more than welcome to join in, we'd love to have you!
