Good Morning Everyone ~ looking forward to a Simple day of finishing up some errands then RELAXING....trying to remember to include some down time in the busy days. Yesterday went great ~ Lindsey was able to connect with another friend from this area who happens to be at their campus too this weekend and will ride back with her versus driving her car yesterday following me - so we went together giving us plenty of private time to have good conversation! Love those moments with our kids Hit the Outlet Stores for some sales - found some good ones but wow, exhausting walking, walking in the hot sun. We had fun though! Then drove further to her apartment (about 30 min south) and cleaned her apartment. There was a LOT to clean and de-clutter too! lol Looked like the girls were all 'done' with school and their apartment and just bolted outta there after Finals last May lol - in Lindsey's room we organized books, clothes, and washed her sheets. Then rearranged her furniture to give a tad more space - found lots of things she really didn't need so we packed up my car to take it back home. As I was leaving the other girls were arriving - loud silly reunion - and started decorating their apartment for Lacey's Princess Bash - such fun - I was tired when I left but all good - DD23 Carly had spent the day with BF Ben at his family's camp for fishing, canoeing and camp fire. She dragged herself home later but when she heard Linds and I hit the Outlet Mall she was so jealous! She would have ditched the camping for shopping any day! lol I told her she needed the day with nature to become ONE with her soul (she wasn't buying it)

Carole - how's your weekend going? I'm betting pretty good - the weather here has been beautiful and I'm hoping the same for you! How is the tingling in your back? After a day of cleaning at Lindsey's my back was not happy but ibuprofen helped. Eager to hear how the Girls did Friday and if you could do a nighttime swim? Sue - oh boy about the sibling drama now. I'm with you - if Kris is going to be Power of Attorney then she NEEDS to keep everyone informed of the decisions going on...it gets draining. I know. DSIL was so busy dealing with not only Gary's mom and her medical issues, but her own kids and work and everything. She was exhausted but it was still her duty to tell everyone what was the plan and latest conditions. Part of me wonders if David should visit the social worker for your mom and get the REAL scoop. I really hope your headache settles down. You do NOT need this on top of it all. Like you, I hope to get everything cleared off the 'have to do' list - only I don't have a Corn Night planned lol - I remember how much work that is for everyone! Gabrielle - so glad to hear minimal side effects to the Vaccine! Go you! And it's smart to time the next shot around your busy schedules. When you travel to Washington D.C. this Fall are you running the marathon or just your friend? How many days were you going to be there? Sounds like you are getting everything organized for DS19 and his big move! So exciting...oh, trust me, I had tons and tons of furniture ready to 'donate' to a college apartment from our move here from the old house. BUT then my basement flooded when our Sump Pump failed/broke, and ruined couches and end tables We did salvage other things but that was a mess! Anyways, I offered to friends and family if anyone needs furniture we have a ton still! Hoping Carly could take some when she's ready to move out...some day...

SIMPLE SUNDAY... Gonna try! Trying to gauge how many will be coming up today for a cook out and swim, not sure where my boys "learned" that they don't need to reply when invited here! UGH!
"Lazy" (?) Weekend here... going back to Friday!
Was a very LONG and FRUSTRATING day Friday - so I ended the day by sitting in my car - in the sun - reading - while waiting for Zoë! I couldn't muster the strength or the desire to shop! Was feeling very "angry" and knew shopping in that state of mind would not be good for my budget!
Anyway, then got Zoë - came home and things felt "better"... Ken, Tracy & Eden had gone to the Classic Car Night - and came home HOT and sweaty... so into the pool they went! My sisters came up too - I couldn't muster the enthusiasm to change and get in - but it's nice to hear kids having fun in the pool again... been a while!
LOL Apparently one of our neighbors has said the same to Ken - he loves to hear the excitement in the pool again - like the old days - when our kids were young!
So... let's see what was goin' pn - on Friday!
Sue: OMGosh - of course all of FB would know more than you & David! Good for David -trying to be the voice of reason. Let's hope you have some answers by now!
Gabrielle: OH MY! YAY for only minimal side effects of the shots - and WOW to the story of the lawyer friend! LOL Well the girls swam under the lights - but no campfire... was getting too late... but they were good about it - they prefer to swim! Oh the decision on surgery was "no" unless it all comes back and I choose to get it done - rather than rely on 3 shots a year... well 6 shots... since I had 2 the first time - but each was only 50% of the med - so I can get this process 2 more times in a year. Pain is kind of a come and go thing right now - so no thoughts of changing the route I am on... Advil usually helps - I have not resorted to going back to the Gabapentin... PA worried me with possible side effects of that long term! UGH!
Good luck with that "meeting" with DS... budget talks are never easy!
Shelly: Oh Boy... Yeah dealing with the 2 men must be exhausting!! Always thought men would be easier to work with - but maybe not?!? OK Fingers crossed that all the employee changes will be positive this time around!!
HA! Yeah - 2 days covering for Debbie and I am already 2 days behind in my work! My supervisor doesn't seem to care - so I am sure this will be "my lie" for 4 1/2 more years! AWESOME job on your walking... keep it up... don't let work get in your way! YAY for having the at home option - for when it cools off a bit!

STAY STRONG SATURDAY - Well I did OK... ended up with more water than a "normal" Saturday... ended with over 8K steps - got some exercise moving rocks... and overall had a good day. WE ended up at Subway for a quick supper last night after Wal-Mart... and I think I slept pretty good - not great but better than some nights!
Christine - Thanks for starting us off yesterday - I was up with the girls, and we had RAIN first thing in the morning! Wicked downpour - but it lasted maybe 5 minutes and then was done!
Tracy had bought them a "hair salon" play kit so they were happy to play inside for the morning. Just before lunch we went outside - and they ate lunch out there - then I let them have 20 minutes of pool time... before they had to get ready to GO HOME! LOL I felt "selfish" sending them home - but they had been here (together) since Friday evening so yeah - it was time. They are invited back today - no word yet if they are coming or not. Oh Zoë will be back at some point - as she is staying over (again) tonight. Kathy wants to take a bus trip tomorrow to the casino - so Ken is watching Zoë. Easier to just have her here overnight.
After they left - I was able to clean leaves out from around the tub - and fill the space with little rocks - been wanting to do it for a while - but never made the time! Now it is done. Then made a shopping list - worked on laundry - hit Wal-Mart after Ken got out of work - all good!
This morning I need to get the bathroom "wiped down" and freshened up - but other than that I have nothing that NEEDS to be done! Oh more laundry as the day goes on - but no biggie!
Christine: WHEW... sounds like a fun (?) time cleaning the apartment and getting it ready for a party... love that Linds is concerned about the apartment! WOW She sure IS a busy girl!
Oh Christine - I was hoping by now this would be winding down!! Sorry you had a rough night Friday {{{hugs}}}Glad you can meditate through the pain! Hope the party went well and you had a nice drive home.
Gabrielle: WOW 102 degrees... glad you could get out and get the long run in before the heat settles in! YAY for no more "reaction" to the shot... I doubt there will be any difference with the 2nd shot - but I guess there is always that chance.
Sounds like DS19 plans are coming together nicely. Awww, {{{hugs}}} to you as you deal with the emotions of it all. ♥
Oh Sue... so sorry DS Kris is being like this! Wish she understood that you all need to know! Any chance David can visit the rehab place and get the low-down?? I assume it's not far from him? Hopefully there is some kind of "talking" before September!!
OH Tim had a "virus"... he spent last Saturday 9:15 - 4:30 at the ER! They ran lots of tests... including blood work - stool samples - CT, and chest X-Ray... to rule out pneumonia... ended up being dehydrated -and a viral thing! Over the course of the day he received three bags of fluids! HE was better by Tuesday - but not 100% so they opted to come here for the pool instead of the lake at the campground with the other families that were camping.
Well my tracking is "spotty" too... oh - um - well - mixing tuna with egg... ummmm... no thanks! LOL Glad you enjoyed it and on cukes - I'll have to remember that for my tuna! Sometimes I enjoy it on celery - never thought of cukes!
HA! Yeah - being caught up WAS a good feeling... Kaitlin is out this week - so who knows what it will bring for me?! Again I will "complain" to my supervisor to let her know I still don't think it's fair that I am 100% backup for another person...
Well HR was "out" so I ended up having to sign at the Dr office without talking to her first but - it is what it is... I still have a vacation early October if I need to use it for my back...
LOL I thinking we will hit the beach over Labor Day... trying to work around Tracy's schedule is tougher than I like! I also don't want to take the girls... this trip is for US!
OH we have 2 more houses to view this week - hopefully Wanda can get us in this week. One of them - I want for ME! LOL It has basically 2 "kitchen" areas... and for ME my Easter Bake Sale pie baking night would be a breeze! But for Tracy - it is probably more house than she needs or wants... but hey we will go see it - for fun!
Your Jason still amazes me too Sue... all the work he does "after work"... imagine retirement when he can work at the lot during work hours! LOL Then you will both have evenings to do things!
OH Sue - I hope the headache has turned a corner... LOL Yes I too would HATE "Corn nights" but would love the benefits later on!

Morning Christine, Carole and all to come....
I'm glad to say I think my headache is finally going away....I had a good cry and good vent when Jason got home and I think I "let go" of all that has been stewing for days.... Woke up to a text from Kris "I need you address again. Mom's OK, Progress very slow".....that's it, short and sweet. I texted back the couple of questions I asked her two days ago and maybe she'll fill me in a little more??? Who knows!
Christine...I was actually up a while ago and just about ready to start the thread. Got side-tracked and thankfully I check before I did it! Glad you will enjoy a simple day. I've opted to not head to BJ's today and then just go Monday or Tuesday after work.... we will grill a few things for the week. Only thing I want to do is make a batch of quick pickled cukes & onions. That won't take too long! Decided to go for dinner and Lion King next weekend....don't need to be in the theater with the volume so loud....probably not a good thing for a headache!
How nice that Lindsey will be able to catch a ride home with another friend so you got to spend some one on one time together....I know that time is so limited for you these days! ♥♥♥ Glad you found some good bargains at the outlets! LOL....I can just imagine what the apartment looked like when you arrived. You are probably right out the girls just wanting to bolt out at the end of the year/finals week! So Carly isn't a fan of "becoming one with her soul" eh???
Christine....since Kris asked for my address I'm wondering if it has something to do with DM....Kris has never mailed me anything so I have a feeling it's for paperwork that she is filling out for DM. I'm sure at some point David will talk to the social worker but the tone of Kris's text makes me think that she might finally be realizing that DM is not safe to live alone. Who knows?? I just keep hoping for her to "see reality" and not the dream of DM being home. LOL....if only Kris would not let her pride get in her way and keep us all up to date with DM....it's like pulling teeth to get info!
Oh Carole...sorry Tim and Matt are not good at RSVPs....I know you didn't teach them that! Sorry Friday was a frustrating work day....glad coming home and hearing the laughter in the pool helped to brighten your mood! Made me smile that the neighbor also enjoys the sound of the girls laughter. I know I love to hear the giggles of the boys...just like when the girls were little....brings me back to a simpler time of life. As hectic as it was with the chaos of kids and schedules, it still seems so simple looking back.....
Carole....sounds like you are feeling good about the choice for no surgery at this point. Side effects of meds are always the thing that get me, especially if it something that will be long term....who knows what the years of taking it will mean down the road. So many times the results are discovered MANY years later when it is too late. Kind of the same principal and smoking/cancer and sun/skin cancer.....there was a time when smoking was harmless and a nice "healthy glow" in the summer was fine....we all know better now!
Wish your supervisor would see that with all the "covering" you do for others on vacation the more you are behind and the fact that when you are on vacation....no one really picks up much of the slack for you! Seems unfair to me! I have back to back vacations to cover for....Sherry is off the last week of August and then Rita is taking her DM to Italy....probably her mom's last trip "home" to see family as she is 93 years old....she is taking her sister and oldest daughter too....that is the 1st week of September and I am also off Friday, 8/30 and 9/3 & 9/6 for our annual trip to CT and then to NC when Jim comes to see DM. Oh well.....not stressing over it and I'll get done what I get done!
Talked to Hannah last night and all the pieces are falling into place for Shea's transition from active duty to civilian life.....they will head to Dallas on 8/19 and Hannah will come home on the 21st....Shea will be gone about 8 weeks and then may or may not be home to see us in early October but he could be on his first flights.....sometimes they sent the new pilots right out into the work world....guess time will tell!
Need more coffee....waves Gabrielle, Lisa, Shelly and Jenny! Hope all are having a great weekend!

Simple Sunday - LOL Can't get much simpler than this! Sitting here enjoying numerous cups of coffee and TV not BLARING LOUD... and catching up! However it can't go much longer - must get ready for company - heard from Tim - he and Eden will be up after church. Jaclyn is spending some time this afternoon with her sister Cady.
OH - Friday Jaclyn & Tim went to meet Jaclyn's father and 2 more half brothers!! She had spoken with the father a week ago - on the phone... the first thing he said was "I am sorry"... he has been in Holyoke - 30 minutes from Jaclyn ALL THESE YEARS... I don't quite know how I'd feel about that - but she has met him now, and now has 3 brothers - so she is very excited. They all live in Holyoke - so not far at all.
Christine - thanks for starting us off again today - YAY for a simple day for you today. Sounds like yesterday would have been fun - but tiring... How is your back after all that "work"??
LOL Poor DD23... I would opt for shopping too!
OH yes - my weekend is going very good thanks! I truly enjoyed my afternoon yesterday - home alone - getting things done - but being home alone! Last week I wanted to work on the rocks but Eden would NOT play outside! UGH! Pick my battles... usually she wants to be outside - but last week she was sure a handful! Anyway... yes... good weekend here.
Ahhh, yes... Advil to the rescue! Glad that's all we need - if we "catch" the pain in time!
Sue: I sure hope the headache has subsided so you can get your errnds done today {{{hugs}}}
OK Time to get moving here... some laundry still left to do and the bathroom still needs to be freshened up before folks come up for the day. Pulled rolls and such out of the freezer this morning - everything for today's meal was stuff we had in the freezer - so it will actually be good to use it up - before it is too late to salvage! LOL
I did buy some stuff to make some fresh ice cream for the afternoon... I am sure my sister will bring something along to go with the ice cream! LOL
Not sure I will check back later - probably be a long afternoon! BUT I LOVE IT - you all know that... even with my complaints - I am the one that invites them up! So... it's all my own doing... I'll try not to whine about it later! LOL
♥hugs♥

Mornin' Sue... Glad the headache is on it's way out! Ummm, OK Gotta love when family needs your address - when you haven't moved in 30+ years...LOL Ken's siblings NEVER know our address or phone number! UGH! Good luck with contacting DSKris... hopefully she will answer your texts and get you up to speed!
Oh sorry your plans have changed but yes, probably better to lie low today and feel better by tomorrow!
Glad things are falling into place for Shea -yikes for him being in TX for so long though. Will the boys be going to Dallas as well? Or adults only? I know Hannah is "used to" having him gone but... I think it will be along 8 weeks!! Will Hannah and the boys come to see you in October regardless of his schedule?? So exciting - but has to be weird to think of it all...
Yikes, yes - sounds like a hectic couple of weeks for you the end of the month... good luck - but good for you not stressing over it all (yet)!
OK Really gotta get moving this time - LOL

Good morning!
Happy to have windows open and nice breeze--only 76 degrees and it feels great (of course, it will be over 100 later so will shut the windows soon). DH and I are meeting some friends to ride our bikes on the bike path for a bit--looking forward to it (and feeling indulgent since Sundays are usually laundry-shopping-cleaning only). This afternoon DM and DS25 will come over for dinner--I'm just doing a "cookout" - burgers, hotdogs, fresh veggies, watermelon, etc. Looking forward to it.
Carole: I can see why, after a hard day, having Zoe with you and being at home would feel "right"...something about kids and their carefree ways is SO wonderful. I can't wait to (someday) have young kids around. My arm was still sore yesterday (and there was a noticeable kind of swollen, red area) but it is much better today. Yep, always worth it. How fun for Jaclyn to be meeting family after all of these years! I have to wonder if she would have ever done that without your family who has been so focused on heritage, etc. I'm always impressed by it. So happy for her! Oh, swimming under the lights would have been a nice time (and nice to hear even if you were not out there). Hope that you have a nice, enjoyable time with them today as well. Glad that Tim is okay---dehydration can really be a serious thing if not taken care of. Hope that he continues to feel better. How fun to be looking at houses with Tracy---glad that the search is still alive. I am SO glad that you are wiping down the bathroom and then calling it a day in terms of "have to do's"....glad that you can enjoy your weekend. Sorry that Friday was so rough.....have a nice, family-filled day.
Christine: LOL, so is Carly feeling "at one with nature" now? I love that! Made me smile! Sounds like a nice day with Linds and fun to get things ready. That will be us on 8/16-17. I am SO with you....love driving with them in the car and I miss those days! I hope that today is a good day in terms of the pain, etc. and that you have a more consistent period of no pain. I am amazed at all that you do....my friend only had a "little patch" on her back and it knocked her down. For the DC trip, I am doing the Marathon (last Sunday in October)....we are flying out with another couple on the Wed before and staying in an Air BNB with them, then flying out on Monday. Looking forward to it! Thinking that Chicago might be my next "destination marathon"....we will see. Have a good day!
Sue: So glad to read that your headache has resolved. It sounds like the chance to let it all out with Jason really helped? So sorry to read about how hard this all is for you. Families are so complicated.....I am SO glad that you have David to help in some way and hope that the communication might improve. How fun that the kids will be in Dallas together for a couple of days before Shea's training. It's so great how this timing has worked out! Who will stay with the boys for those two days? Hope that you have a nice, semi-relaxed day today!
Hello to all who follow. Time to get moving on the bike trip....have a good day!
