Day 36 – Believe It!
To me this is a fun day because we come to terms with the idea that we have done “it” and are continuing to do “it.” (“it” successfully managing our weight)
Beck points out to us that since we have started the review we have gained/brushed up on critical skills we didn’t have beforeand learned how to use them consistently to be successful. She wants you to make a response card listing what you now know that has made you successful.
List your favorite skills you’ve learned from the book.
Think back on how much less you do behaviors that can lead you astray, such as fooling yourself, not sitting down to eat, eating mindlessly, eating too fast, and so on.
What habits that would lead you astray have you changed or improved because of the review?

The best skill I learned from the book is learning to talk things out with myself, learning that each encounter with food or caloric drink starts with a thought and you can talk back to that thought if needed. I knew it was my short-circuited thinking that caused me to gain my weight back the first two times I lost weight on WW.
The biggest change I did on my own which was keep sweets out of the house which ties in with Beck's idea about changing your environment. I now plan ahead most times when I go out to eat. I sit down to eat except when I'm fixing dinner I might eat my salad while standing by the stove. I work on eating slowly and mindfully.

List your favorite skills you’ve learned from the book. I am not sure...I think the discussions always make me more aware and thus more able to tune in to what I am doing and work to change behavior. Going from mindless to mindful eating is probably the biggest...and journaling is always something that makes my weight loss more real. What habits that would lead you astray have you changed or improved because of the review? For me...thinking BEFORE eating is the thing I need to do...
I was interested in finding a LIST in one place of all the skills, techniques, etc so went googling.

Favorite skills: Planning, tracking, being consistent with exercise, have gotten used to not being really full most of the time, getting back on track, and not fooling myself anymore. I guess I needed most of them .

Good morning everyone
The best advice for me is that I can succeed by making the positive changes inside my thoughts and actions. Food choices alone won’t lead to lifetime success.
In the past I would restrict calories and thought that was all I needed to do. Then I wondered why eventually I would gain it back.
Tracking, portion control and not having trigger foods in the house are my main tools. The 7 steps helps me every time to evaluate any situation.

I think this day is confusing in that we haven't mastered anything really...at least not yet...and if feels like she wants us to have a "Success Party" and I'm not feeling very successful I guess. I'm feeling more aware, more enlightened, but not necessarily losing the weight I thought I would during this review. But maybe that's just me...?
List your favorite skills you’ve learned from the book. I don't know if they're favorites but I think they're most helpful to me right now!
- Sitting and slowing down eating (I always forget the last part but I'm trying! It's the old take 3 Bites, take a sip, breathe)
- Asking myself 'what happened & why' when I go off plan
- Getting right back OP when I stray
- Opting to exercise my resistance muscle more
Think back on how much less you do behaviors that can lead you astray, such as fooling yourself, not sitting down to eat, eating mindlessly, eating too fast, and so on.I'm more aware now of what I'm doing, but I still need to work on the WHY part, and the Stopping Myself Before I go Off Plan part.
What habits that would lead you astray have you changed or improved because of the review?Instead of just going off plan and telling myself 'whatever', I am now more aware that I'm about to stray off plan and I can try asking myself why and investigate the STs and Helpful Responses.
