Waving to all and wishing a good day. Sending healing vibes to Liz and Becky.
I am trying not to watch too much news today. I am watering the lawn and the doves are enjoying the sprinkles. I made a quick trip to Meijer and found some Ohio peaches. They need a day to ripen. I will be hitting the recumbent bike soon.

Been avoiding tv news also...but it shows up on FB. Sort of want to be informed but stressed by it.
Going for 113 today, so as soon as the grass dries, the lawn better get mowed.
Hybrid bermuda grass like they use in golf courses is softer under foot and needs to be shorter. So every three days in growing season when nights are in the 80s.Winters is goes yellow. Some people cut it to ground and reseed with regular grass in the winter to have green all year. You can tell it is really fall here by the smell of dehydrated manure they use over it
Got up for pool class early a hundred years old with clogged head...stayed home.
I need to call vet because Micki has a lump on his chest getting larger. It feels like a fatty tumor which most of our past dogs had, but one on Max when he was old, got so big it astounded the vet, so it probably should go now while it us too hot for his PM walks anyway and he has time to heal before nice weather. He had two little ones when he was two. DH does not want to think about it.
We decided not to go anywhere in Oct.Neither of us has a good feeling about it.

Thanks for the start, Chele. I don't blame you for avoiding the news. I have watched a little of the national coverage and it's so depressing. Amazing that you found such good peaches at the grocery store. I hope they will taste as good as they look.
Becky, how are you feeling today? Any improvement? It's only Monday, but I have 102 intensity minutes so far. Pretty amazing since I did the same workout last Monday and only got 13. Maybe I have the heart rate zones set correctly now.
Do you have an HOA that requires you to have a lawn, Linda? It would be nice to have an alternative where you could use desert plants instead, interspersed with rocks and other natural elements that might do a lot better in your setting than any kind of grass. Sorry about the clogged head and not being able to make it to class. Do you have an appointment for Micki with the vet yet? With all the lumps and bumps Phoebe had, I can understand Bob's reluctance to think about it. Don't blame you guys for choosing not to take an October trip. If you don't right about it, there's a reason.
Busy, busy day here. I made Arya a month of veggies and pilaf, did a couple loads of laundry, vacuumed, watered elderberries and blueberries, and other things that I am apparently forgetting. I'm tired. I also told Dale that I need more help than he's providing. His response was did I want to go out kayaking after I get home from the gym and my haircut tomorrow. I don't think he gets it yet. We'll see how it goes with his retirement. He's not going to just spend every day I'm home working in his "barn".
Waving to Kathy and Liz.

Ah Karen, guys when they retire take a year to find a good daily schedule and it will not match yours if you don't gently work on it. They seem to miss the job structure.
The lawn is an oval in the back for dogs and cooling that is only about 15x25. the rest is rocks and trees, garden and shrubs in irrigation. The front is all desert landscape and a pain to weed. It is usually over five degrees hotter. Today the back is 106 so far, the front 112.
We see vet at ten tomorrow...new one in the group as ours had to leave because of pancreatic cancer...and she gas two kids under 12. If the new one has not done much surgery, an older one can. But this group headed by an older woman is all talented women with good reputation.

Chele, thanks for the start. It's been storming here since around 3pm, so I turned on the local news to see what was going on with the weather. I should've turned it off right after the weather. In addition to the national news, there were local stories about vandalism at a black veterans cemetery and a back to school story about bullet proof backpacks. I had to turn it off again. Those peaches sound good. Ours usually come from GA since they have a fairly small crop here.
Karen, I'm still adjusting to being retired, so it may take Dale a little while to settle in. Maybe start small with some suggestions on what he could help with.
Linda, hoping all goes well at the vet's tomorrow. Probably a good idea to not do the trip if you're not feeling good about it.
Waving to Becky and Liz.

Chele Thanks for the start.I am only watching what they have about both places on our local news.Information overkill.Unfortunately 2 more deaths in EP.I hope you enjoyed your workout.I don't go on my FB home page much because I don't want to read about it all over again.
Linda I hope Micky will be okay.I don't blame you for not going on your October trip.
Karen The knees still hurt.My new Garmin week doesn't start until Monday and I have 60 intensity min but I only did 30 min on the bike.We went to WM first this morning and I didn't walk up and down each aisle but still got a good number of steps. While it wasn't a ghost town like another online friend in another state said there weren't near as many customers there except back to school shoppers. On the other hand HEB was a madhouse.I have never seen that many people in the Elgin store since it opened not even on the weekends. Not crazy busy like Bastrop HEB but we had to park farther away after driving around the parking lot for almost 5 min.Dale does need to help out since he is retired now I agree. There isn't much working outside here this week.Kenneth was out with the cattle for 1.5 hrs this afternoon and he's not going back out until 7:00.Today is the coolest day of the week and it got up to 98.By the end of the week it could be 105 and that's without the heat index.
Kathy I heard about the bullet proof backpacks also.School hasn't even started yet and with all the violence already I fear for all the students going back.
Linda Dang 98 feels super hot here.Well with the heat index it is but I couldn't live anywhere that gets that hot.The highest we remember in past years is 112 here back in 2011.

broke a 50 year record today.
July was the hottest month on earth since they started keeping records and Greenland is melting, literally billions of buckets of it.
