Ann That extra sodium... ugh. But you have a solid bead on how to counteract it and realize any uptick on the scale tomorrow is temporary.
Audrey Wonderful plans for a relaxing day during your oceanside retreat. Slosh away! I am reading a adrenaline- charged, testerone-charged tongue-in-cheek crime thriller, "Florida Roadkill," by Tom Dorsey. Interesting viewpoint-- one of the antisocial criminal gives voice to how outside influences despoil Fla. ha ha ha . . Quite a few cracks about people from Ohio who move there. I am waiting to see if he adds anything about Flordians inability to drive in the rain or reckless speeding when it's not raining.
Becky Bravo for keeping on track w/ your evening snack esp. in the heat. The old PP was much more accommodating when it came to treats. When I am in the zone, I use 8oz clear plastic cups from a dollar store to make myself a paraffin of diet jello, berries, and lite Cool Whip. It's a FS friendly, cool dessert or snack.
Susi Wow. . . That is very generous of your employer to offer such a fab deal for your family. Yes, it is amazing that they are not jumping on that savings.
Mj Agreed. Given your presence in his life, you could be integral in helping the Mouseketeer process what is bothering him. Ha ha ha... you know that once you are retired that having an "odd" day free day is not the norm. Wishing yo the best possible outcome for your tests.

I think everyone will love Summer of 69 easy to pick up with stories for each of the family members, the son who is drafted, rebellious daughter with the perfect sister who married a controlling man, traditional old Nantucket grandmother etc. It doesn’t have the depth of the previous books I read but it is well written. Toni Morrison, a brilliant writer, passed away at 88. I’ ve read some of her books and they are more difficult. I like to mix things up but tend not to read trash because I am no longer a fast reader. Cathy, google white bean recipes. There are delicious chili’s and salads. It’s such a good staple. We have many Lebanese and others from the Middle East in Fresno because of the similar climate. It would be hard to deal with the interruptions of electricity but I guess you just adjust.

Ann, I have never eaten at Olive Garden. Yes, we have one but sodium and portions keep me away from chain restaurants. We are so lucky because there are restaurants on every corner. June, I have found decent soup or salad at Panera but haven’t been to one in 2 years. At mom and pop places I can get what I want and although I know I can at chain restaurants it is still more difficult. There is a Greek restaurant in Morro Bay owned by Palestinians who lived in Selma close to Fresno. I think he calls it Greek to be more accepted. It’s a hole in the wall with husband, wife and a young man who is dishwasher, soup chef, jack of all trades. DH wanted the falafel plate and it was the best we’ve tasted. It even had a delicious slice of eggplant, salad, hummus and pita bread he warmed in a pizza style oven. My chicken shawarma was cooked like a kabob on a grill. I was so impressed by what they could make in a tiny space. I turned down the baklava saying it was too rich for my stomach😊 I’m just spoiled. Where Bob grew up there was Essie’s Cafe and that was it unless you drove to another city.

I was Willing and AWARE at the study.
BUT I can take no credit. We had a guest speaker today and his wife, so lots of folks brought stuff. The kitchen was crowded, so I had half a spinach and chicken sandwich and some chips. Later some spinach dip and some chips.
