Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Beautiful morning, but thunderstorms predicted this afternoon and tomorrow.
Ruth - that hail sounded nasty. We don’t get that very often.
Dottie- glad you found time to finish your book.
Went out for a couple of beers after work yesterday with other cashier and her DH. His dad passed away a few weeks ago, the memorial service is next week, lived in Florida . She is going to take off the whole week, so more OT for me. The extra work that other cashier and I put in was recognized at the monthly status meeting yesterday. Nice to be acknowledged.
I still have 3 paid days off to use before I go PT, looked at tour brochure and decided to take another mini vacation. It’s a mon-tues-wed trip the beginning of September. This one will be to Lancaster, PA. Will visit Hershey Chocolate Factory, a dairy farm, and the main attraction is seeing the play Jesus at the Sight and Sound Theater. That production is ending in October, so I will be seeing one of the finals shows. Also going for a smorgasbord dinner at a place that gets rave reviews and also has a huge gift shop. Talked to other cashier and office girl, they will work for me. Boss said OK, all I need to do today is book the tour.
Have a good day

Good morning all. Joy, you book the neatest sounding tours. My female cousins (the one in Hawaii and her DSs) do a sister’s trip most every summer and they did Hershey PA a couple years ago. They LOVED it, so I think you’ll have a great time. And the OT you are getting is incredible!!! Will pay for lots of extras!!!
I had an awful time getting up this morning. A half hour after my alarm went off I finally got up. Sawyer was coming to stay with us for a couple days (giving Mommy & Sawyer a break), but DD said it would be after 9 after she dropped off Harper at Raptor camp. 8:40 in comes Sawyer & DD. Me not dressed, nothing of my morning routine done. Oh well.
The flooring guy was expected around 11, but could be 10 earliest tops!!! 9:00 am!!! Someone at the door, it was him!!! Ugh! I always make our bed before the workmen get here because I just think it looks better and I feel better about it. So about half hour later I finally got my clothes out of the bedroom and headed to the upstairs bathroom to get dressed and take care of morning ritual. I’m sitting on the couch right now and I can hardly stay awake. Going downstairs (where Sawyer & Papa are playing) and start taking pictures of stuff to be listed and hopefully sold!! I have to do something!!! Can’t sit here or I’ll go to sleep!!!
Sawyer wants to go to the pool, by herself, w/o her sister!!! Apparently they are having some issues and Harper resents having a younger sister, has been really nasty to her, and mommy is fed up with it but not sure how to handle it!!! Mean girls starting at 8 yrs old just isn’t going to happen w/o consequences!!!! So Sawyer needs some away time!!!
Ok, need to get moving. Dottie, good to get a book finished. I read and just lose myself and Stan gets so mad if I don’t hear him and respond. I used books to tune out the fighting and all growing up, so not hearing while reading is ingrained in me!!!
Have a great day all. I’ll check in later today!!!

Joyce, your trip to Lancaster and the Amish country brings back memories. We went there one summer with the boys. We toured an Amish farm and then had dinner at one of the big Amish restaurants. The veggies were delicious, all fresh and they had a lot of fruit pies for dessert. Great that you are getting in all of the OT.
Ruth, sorry to hear about the problems with Harper and Sawyer, is it just sibling rivalry or something more. When does school start – that should help the situation. Hope you were able to get a lot of the clothes listed and the sales start coming in. You should try to get a sort nap in – I do good with just a 20 to 30 minute nap, any longer and it messes up my sleep at night.
Bill and I have both been working on paper decluttering. He went thru a lot of files from his work, most of it went right in the recycling bin. I have been concentrating on 2 areas. I found a box that had folders in it from the 2005-2010 time frame. It is mainly medical paperwork and we also had a reimbursement account at that time so that is part of the paperwork. Most of it has to be shredded, names, birthdate, meds and some even had our SSNs on the paperwork. I finished about ¼ of the box. The other thing I found is a box with financial info. There was paperwork from 2000-2009, again most of it has to be shredded. I am about ½ way thru that box. Each little bit helps.
