Good morning -
Think 1st Thursday... WOW - "already" Thursday! LOL This week is actually going by quickly!Staying on top of things at work - my Thursday weekly report may not go out today - depends on what else comes IN - AND got 2 more days of ATM Settlement done - so I am up to last weekend... feeling good about it all - even with Kaitlin out!
Saw 2 houses yesterday - Tracy will call the Credit Union today to get a more firm number than she may be able to make an offer!! We saw a really cute small place - beautiful neighborhood - wish the bigger house were in that neighborhood! LOL The bigger house - although it may need work "in time" (the small one would as well) so personally I think she will want the bigger place!
Let's face it she has a lot of STUFF - between furniture - clothes - craft stuff - she will fill a house! LOL Oh and it has a beautiful - LARGE screened in front porch! The neighborhood is nice... houses & yards neatly kept... oh and smaller yard to maintain... the worst part of it is the street is kind of busy! It's kind of a "cut through" from one town to another - shortcut, so to speak... but not as busy as 1 street we looked at!
Anyway - I am trying to stay out of it... she has said that Wanda (Realtor) told her, when people find "their house" they know it the minute they walk in... she hasn't felt that with any yet... I told her that is not true with everyone! I don't remember "knowing" this was "the house for me" when we looked at it - but it was what we could afford - nice location - and had possibilities! But - again - I am trying to stay out of it - I will answer questions - offer ideas... but I don't want to PUSH her into anything - and I don't mind going to see houses... so we'll see. Oh there is an Open House tonight - so they may get an offer before she has had the chance anyway... and she did say she probably wouldn't be heartbroken if she lost out - I am just afraid if she misses this one - she may regret it later - if she can't find one comparable... always a tough decision... but it is her decision to make - I am just letting her come to me...
Personally I think if it does't "go" after the Open House - we should go look again - take Ken with us and then go from there... they may be willing to drop the price a little - but we'll see.

THINKING FIRST... will pull a steak from the freezer and ask Ken to grab a large sweet potato from the store today - will add veggies or a salad and have a nice (easy) dinner tonight. Never did make it to Wal-Mart last night - decided I am not going to bother... I will figure it out another way!
68 degrees - thought the humidity was supposed to "break" in all the storms we had last night, but says it's still 99% out there! Maybe tonight will be a pool night? Maybe not? Not sure if Ken has a meeting or anything!
Oh while getting my injections yesterday the nurse was telling me her 33 year old (pregnant) daughter has shingles! OY VEY
OK Let me refill my coffee and catch up on yesterday...

Good Morning ~ feeling very tired this morning which is so odd - not my usual - I checked my FitBit and it's showing 6 hours of sleep - my usual is a little over 6, but hmm, not sure why this heavy slow feeling. I FINALLY got another contract side job!! Whoo Hoo - it has been since January and I was, and still am, suspicious WHY my contracts suddenly ceased. Dried right up - I was getting 1-2 a month consistently for 4 years. It was so odd - but wow, I am very thankful to have another evaluation to complete. It's a local one too so no driving off into the boondocks trying to find a back country road with no signs or addresses! Yesterday was a good day. Work was good. I may not have moved as much as I could but I did try to take a walk with ColbyGirl after work, before dinner, but it was too hot out there - I worry about hot pavement on her paws. She refuses to walk on the grass unless she's doing her business lol Such a diva! Anyways, she was fine with cutting the walk short. My knee was thankful we cut it short. And yes, totally forgot to wear my knee brace and I felt it. Geesh...gotta get it together. I am cutting back on Gabapentrin dose - I know it has to be done gradually to avoid seizures - so I'm starting slow this week. The weight gain, puffiness, and swollen joints are ridiculous but I am thankful to be managing the Shingles pain. It is still painful, never quite goes away I guess especially my face and right eye are very sensitive to touch and sunlight, but the side effects of the med is causing me self esteem issues. So I am going to see if I can regain some control here.

Carole - Good Morning - how fun to go house hunting with Tracy! Ehh, I am getting the feeling she doesn't want to just settle for a nice house. She wants HER house and I can get what the Realtor is saying. When Gary and I found this house I loved everything BUT the kitchen. I didn't want to buy it because the kitchen is so small (tough to have 2 people working in it at same time). But DH thought it was the best deal and yes, compared to what we were seeing, I have no regrets. She will KNOW it when she sees it. Maybe the busy street put her off? So good to hear you are feeling productive at work and accomplishing a lot! Good Job!! The humidity here is always 90% until the sun rises and 'burns it off' then it settles down. What is yours like by noon? Still 90%? Geesh that would be hard to breathe in! I would plan Pool time too!! Sue - wondering how things are going with Kris and DM's rehab. Hope things are stabilizing. Wow to all the thunder storms lately! Hope you can have Corn Night soon! Gabrielle - how did all the blood work go? DH had his 6 month check up yesterday - OMG you would think he just gave birth! So funny how valiant guys feel about what we do every day...smh... Lindsey is organizing her things for return to school. She dashed up to the 2nd hand store and sold some of her older clothes - got $83!! Proud of her! Tonight I am meeting our School Nurse out for dinner - she is actually much younger but we worked so well together and were a good team! And yes, all in the past now. With much encouragement from me and her family, she found another position in a larger school district! So happy for her but she is apprehensive. Which I keep assuring her is normal. Anyway, I'm looking forward to dinner tonight - hoping to celebrate her new job and THANKFUL she is escaping DL and the Prince!!!

Sue: Always a "Challenge" to enjoy corn night, huh?? I know you appreciate it when it's done - but what a chore!! Saw pics on FB looks like it went well - Sarah gets relegated to husking too does she? Do you cook it on the cob and shave it off after? Or do you get it off the cob before blanching??
Yummmm, cookie and ice cream!
Gabrielle: I understand - feeling like this glucose monitoring is hanging over your head - let's hope they find "normal" spikes, things that can be controlled with diet and exercise... since you clearly have both of those under control anyway! {{{hugs}}} YAY for a haircut! Bet your house is looking crazy right now! LOL With things for DS to pack up and get out... how fun!?? I know it isn't "easy" but oh the adventures you all will enjoy going forward! ♥
Ya' know... I Seem to recall that I will go monthly for 5 years (? MAYBE?) then I may not need the injections any longer. Some people still need them occasionally - others feel better if they just continue along with the monthly ones... that will depend on how I am feeling if I start to give them up! Speaking of which - I think I need to call and make an appointment! I think I have to see the Dr. annually - and it has to have been a year! Hmmmm... So I think at this point I have been doing them for 3 years now... to be honest, I am so NOT inconvenienced by them, I'll do them as long as I have to... I kind of like being able to leave work - get the shots then not have to go back to work! I am figuring out the best schedule for that to work around! LOL
LOL Yes... funny while we were talking last night she made a comment about the small house would probably work - since she's in 1 room now... I L.O.L.! Like seriously?? She has the one bedroom... but she has furniture in my living room - she has craft and photography stuff in 2 spare rooms upstairs... she has a futon in one of the rooms upstairs - she has stuff in the attic... she has "STUFF" EVERYWHERE!! LOL I don't think the small house would hold it all on moving day!
YAY for DS being back in Boston... when do they pack up and head West?? DO they need a moving truck? Or will they be able to make the drive in one car??
Oh yes - I would imagine Graphic Design would be a good "job" to be in these days! So exciting for you all. So 2 years at Lane followed by 4 years at UoO?? Will he be working while attending school? Hope it works out for you and Jenny to meet up ♥

Mornin' Christine: Hmmm, more tired today... does seem odd, since you slept more than usual? YAY for another contract job! Interesting... yeah, why is that - that you all of a sudden had none? Yes, too hot to walk outside these days... you'll get your groove back when the weather settles. Oh yes... cutting back the Gabapentin slowly will probably help you to feel better (in general)... I still have issues with swelling of my left ankle/foot. Both feet somedays... sometimes it's tough to wear shoes - even sandals!
I am messaging my Dr today to get an appointment to discuss!
LOL I think what is "putting her off" is the worry about doing it on her own. She's a money worrier... I get it - that's NOT a "bad thing", but to some extent ya' gotta know the numbers will work and to trust you can do it! Personally I saw it in her face - while standing there talking - she wants THIS house... she was talking about what could go where - and how the porch is good for the girls to play on... not much back yard - but she doesn't like mowing... switching it up since the living room in the front of the house is larger than the dining room in the middle - she would do dining room in the front, and living area in the middle - to go into the sunken family room... both the living and dining have doors to the kitchen... so the small dining room would be more of an "office" area that you walk through to get to the family room AKA Living room... the double kitchen area would be great for her "craft" area... lots of cabinets and counter tops - and the second sink... I thought she was truly interested/excited... then we got home and she started looking at the "expense sheet" that Wanda gave her - and she started doubting herself. The "expenses" utilities - would be roughly what she sis paying us now (rent) so the only "extra" would be the mortgage itself - and yes it is a "lot" but it's not more than a normal rental would cost (Mom & Dad's place not included)!
Anyway - I get it - it IS a lot to think about... and she has really only viewed 4 houses... so maybe this is not "the one"...
I am not sure when the humidity drops around here... but it doesn't seem to drop a lot in town - at work...
Nice that you and the nurse can enjoy a dinner out before she hits her new job! Lucky girl - that one, huh!??
OK Time to get moving here... must make up about 1/2 hour since I left yesterday and didn't return!
Remember to THINK 1st THURSDAY... ♥hugs♥

Morning all....it was a long 4 1/2 hours of corn but worth it!
Jason arrived about 3:30 pm and he and the boys went to the patch to pull....Jason and Jackson pulled, Kellen counted them in 12 to a bucket and carried them to the porch where Sarah and Josh started to husk! I arrived just before 5:00 and they had a bunch husked and ready for me to start cutting off.... I filled the bus pan with cut off corn and after we had a quick dinner I bagged that to give them a chance to get me a good amount to cut off again! By the time I had that done, Josh left for work and the other 4 continued to husk while I cut.....was finished bagging it up about 8:45 or so....the boys worked from 1st ear pulled to last corn silk swept off the porch and driveway.....they were such big helpers and we never would have been finish at that hour without them!
Need to get moving....will see you all after work...I think I'm coming right home!

Evening all....going to try and catch up a bit tonight....
Not sure who asked over the weekend about Kale & Rowan....they are actually spending two nights at then neighbor across the street from Hannah. Tristan's boys are the same age as Kale & Rowan so she will just walk 4 to school instead of 2....hopefully the chaos of 4 on school morning won't be too bad.....Hannah & Shea will get them to school on Monday and Hannah will get them from school on Wednesday! Tough part of it is that it's the 1st day of school.....so thankfully Hannah will get them to school but at the end of day one it will be Tristan that gets them. They are very adaptable so it won't be a problem as far as the boys go but Hannah feels bad.
Ah Carole...Monday Mindset....it's Thursday and I'm still trying to find it! Haven't been bad all week but not particularly organized....the headache just through off my entire week. Well Carole, zucchini lasagna may not be the healthiest but it is healthier than some versions! I'm excited for Jaclyn to be reconnecting with a family she knew nothing about....no matter what comes in the future, at least now she has the pieces filled in a bit. I'm sure with her dad, hindsight is 20/20 and now with grand children the guilt might be surfacing and maybe to have even a fractured relationship with Shawn and Jaclyn and his grandchildren might be a little peace in his heart. While he can never make up for what he took from his kids.....he might be able to start a new relationship that won't necessarily be father/child but it might bring closure to many wounds. I just hope no one has expectations of "one big happy family" at this point because in reality they are all strangers and it will be a long time of learning about each other and all the years that are lost.
Gabrielle...glad you had a nice dinner with DM and DS....we are starting each day a bit cooler these days but is still nice and HOT by the time I leave work....today was 92° when I got out at 4:30 pm......the forecast says that we have a band of storms coming through tonight after dark and will actually be a chilly morning and then a glorious weekend....no humidity, just temps in the low 80's and sunshine! Perfect day in my book! Always laugh at how fitbit calculates some activities into steps. My fitbit has a setting that I can change from steps to the activity like bicycling, swimming, running, etc....I never usually use it but it has it! LOL!
LOL Gabrielle...you are so right about a ripe "anything" and what you get in the store. As a kid we had lots of "fresh fruits" from the store and I loved them....then when I married Jason I realized what a truly ripe fruit was....the stuff in stores, while "fresh", they are picked WAY TOO early to be at their peak of flavor....even if you leave them on the counter to "ripen" a bit more, it's not the same as on the vine. Yes, a farmer's market is better but they still pick them early enough so they have a couple days to transport and sell them. When I say vine ripe, I mean pick and prep it in 24 hours.....no letting it sit to ripen needed. Heck most store tomatoes are picked green then "gassed" in the trucks to ripen en-route to the stores.
Lisa....what a fun pedicure....perfect for the wedding! Can't believe it's wedding weekend already! All of a sudden it came on quickly! Fingers crosses that there will be no tension or "fires" that need to be handled and the weekend can just be a celebration of the kids and their love as they start a new chapter of their lives.
Shelly...oye, more car issues, glad the tire was a quick fix. YAY for training 2 new employees! Glad you are feeling positive about this group....maybe all your staffing woes are finally behind you! You go girl....WTG changing and getting out to walk! One step at a time...sounds like exercise is finding it's way into your day....make sure it's there to stay before you start to tackle too many more things....slow and steady makes things habits you can live with!

Carole....as I already confessed it has not been a good week and that includes no tracking. While my food and drink has been pretty much under control except for the chocolate chip cookie and ice cream at work the one day...most everything else has been OP. Only really bad thing last night at the cookout at Sarah's while doing corn was the chips but heck, you need a few chips with a burger on the grill! I love that you write your goals in your journal and check them off as you achieve them....lots of checks is a good thing....just because you don't have all of them, doesn't mean you failed....just means life happened and tomorrow can be better! Love it!
Yup Carole....it's nice to finally have some "sellable" cantaloupes....basically each year Jason just wants to sell enough to cover the taxes on the lot and any plants he actually buys...most stuff he starts from seeds which costs pennies but he buys the tomato plants for now (until he has his green house in the addition) and the cantaloupes and watermelons.....as long as that is covered, he can justify keeping the lot and continuing to share his love for the garden with the boys and everyone that remembers my DFIL and all the yummy fresh stuff that my in laws shared over the years!
Gabrielle...track day on a Thursday...you are confusing us! Glad you could hop on the TM to prep for it! Never heard of anyone having a "monitor" for blood sugar before...only the usual finger sticks. Will be anxious to see how it works and see how it reacts to the long run on Saturday! New things to share with all of us!
Jenny....sorry the resort was such a disappointment. Glad you made the best of it and found time for a hike and some shopping. Love "steamers"....haven't had them in a while, now I'm hungry for them!
Still not quite caught up but back is not happy right now....yesterday leaning over cutting off corn wasn't the best for it and after a full work day I just need a little heat....will be back tomorrow to hopefully keep getting "Up to speed"! LOL!

Hey all....today ended up being short staffed. Ugh just when I though everything was going good then today happened. One girl that is fixing to leave called in sick then one that I let come back had someone to cover for her and then that person called in sick. Ugh....always something. Hoping tomorrow is a better day
Carole I am not doing to good. For one it has been really really hot and not even cooling off in time to walk. Also I have been so tired. Yesterday when I got up I was real dizzy and could barely walk. Managed to make it to work. Got better in just a few hours. Not sure what that was all about. Came home yesterday and went to bed!!! Today was better but didn’t get home until after 7 and I wasn’t walking after. 13 hr work day!!!
Christine hope the shingles are getting better. So sorry you are dealing with it. Glad you are getting a contract job!!! Yes weird you haven’t had any since January but glad you got one again!!!
Gabrielle so DS 19!is headed off to college?? Good luck. I forgot older DS was moving/has moved back home. Does he live close to you guys?
Sue wow what an evening getting that corn done!!! Glad the boys was there to help get it done!!!! Oh yes the car problems!! Hope I’m done with all that. Funny how all of a sudden I have 3 nails in less than a week.
Yes hoping I have enough hired. Might have another one back at the end of the month. We will see if she comes back. She was a good worker so I don’t mind putting her back to work.
Well once again it is late and I need to get to bed. 10:30 here I really don’t know why I am still up at this time of night but I do this way to often. Hope to catch everyone again tomorrow but we will have to see how the day goes.
