WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

25 points 1846 calories 20 APs Nancy, instead of step I did some kickboxing drills and simple combos, and yes, some of the old fashioned Jane Fonda stuff. I really like this lady’s style and did several of her drills: m.youtube.com/watch?v=nBbWcHYIvjU&t=869sYes, you are correct about the two hours after a treat food. One donut doesn’t do much harm, but sometimes it can lead to a handful of M&Ms, a cookie, a handful of nuts....Two hours gives us time to reset and eliminates a lot of impulses. Lori, I didn’t hear specific details. There were several vague articles posted on Facebook. It sounds like maybe they’re going to combine Freestyle with older, more restrictive versions of WW, whatever that means. Unless I sign up for WW, I’ll sfill be using Freestyle since itrackbites won’t have the latest version for quite some time. Kathy, the boys are all in a good spot. Thank you for thinking of them. Hooray for your six mile walks! Louise, good to see your OP days.

C40. D6. OP. Tracking. Exercising - walked 6 miles with dogs.
Peaches are ripe and I bought a lug (about 20#'s). So last night I enjoyed a spinach salad with diced peaches and a whisper of cherry poppyseed dressing. It was amazing. I also had put in an order at the food coop for 25# of organic oatmeal, 50# of organic sugar, #25 of RealSalt, and a liter of olive oil. I love living out on the prairie and knowing that my pantry is stocked with the basics! One day I won't have a family of 5 (mostly four with DD at college now) and will have to break the habit of big bulk purchases!
Lori - I made eggplant with ricotta yesterday - wonderful! But really, I think the eggplant is just the vehicle for the creamy ricotta cheese mixture ;-) My DH is not a fan of eggplant, so I made him and the boys an Italian sausage based sauce. Mine was rather high point - 4 points for 1/3 cup of part skim ricotta, mainly. Add a bit of basil olive oil and 4 points of whole wheat spaghetti and 1 tsp of salad dressing on my salad and it was a 10 pt dinner.
Nancy - do you use WW online? Am I the only of us who uses the online version? Hopefully any changes will be easy, since I feel so short on thinking room ;-) Just tell me what to do and if it's easy enough, I'll do it.
Jan - You are amazing for fitting exercise into both your personal and work life. I asked DH for my bike to be spruced up and out of the machine shed, but it is still there.
Louise - your daily stats look good!
Kathy

C100D18, 22 points, 1 rollover, 3 water - 7126 average steps this week.
Line dancing and some grocery shopping.
I've been selling stuff - call it downsizing and also lowering cost of jewelry floater. Gold jewelry, a diamond pendant, stirling silver flatware and serving pieces. I'm becoming somewhat of an expert in determining value so that I can compare potential buyers. It's kind of fun. So far just over $20,000. At my age you start thinking about simplifying things. The kids won't want any of it. This project is complete. Now I can turn to getting rid of stuff. No more $$ for a while.
Busy busy day today. Our aide can't come in so I become the reluctant aide <g>. Then I have an eye appt to schedule 2 cataract operations, then packing, piano practice, canasta and... and... and... Tomorrow I leave at 10 AM.
Lori - For me it's just the opposite. I'd be relieved if someone took my favorite donut. It's kind of like that barmitzvah I went to and was relieved when the food was horrible <g>.
Louise - Your level of control is inspiring. And it's the same thing with weekly average steps. The average of the last 7 days doesn't show up until the next day.
Kathy - I am soooo happy for you. Just remember this "whoot whoot" feeling. Thanks for asking about DH. I FINALLY got registered as "caregiver" after three months of fingerprint issues. They still don't have my fingerprints but have decided to authorize me anyway - some new ruling that I didn't really understand. That means I can finally have the one on one consultation at the medical marijuana distribution center on August 26th and get him started on a low dose. There will be some experimentation involved but at least we can get started. According to the doctor who registered us, it should help his pain, his glaucoma, his sleeping, his stomach, his mood and most importantly it might get him off of the percocet. Our optimism is tempered but any relief will be a blessing. Re WW: I go to meetings religiously every week but also track online. I will definitely post details of any changes to program.
Jan - You have my mojo in spades. I'm so determined to change that this weekend and can't wait to post that I am succeeding in that objective. Your classes sound marvelous. I bet your members will welcome the change. And I'm sure it will keep it interesting for you as well.

Jan - OMG I just checked out the kickboxing video. I'm exhausted just watching it. Brings to memory the song from Gigi "I'm glad I'm not young anymore" <g>.
