Good morning.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning everyone! Well as I suspected I would, I fought that blasted headache all day yesterday. I took a couple of short naps thinking that might help, all that really did was make sure I was awake at 4am this morning. haha! On the bright side, I'm headache free today! YAY! RobinMD - The vet experience really did have a sad beauty to it. And that room! I still can't get over it, outside of the stainless work top it was like a small version of a human funeral home type environment - only it was so much nicer than many of the human funeral home viewing rooms I've been in over the years. And trust me....we paid for that upgrade. Haha! It was a little on the pricey side, compared to if we hadn't been in the room with her and they would have used a regular treatment room. But they have to pay for that lovely room somehow, and I guess they realize that there are enough people out there like me to make it worth it. I was a bit surprised at having such a well appointed room in such a small town though. And, we walked away knowing that if we bring pets back into the family in the future, we know where we'll be taking them for their vet care. So sorry your leg has been giving you pain. I know how miserable that can get. As to your ulcers, have you tried a blonde roast coffee? They're a little harder to find, I know the ones that I can get my hands on in the grocery store are all Starbuck's brand, but they have less acid. I love the Starbuck's Veranda blend, and will actually choose that one over all the rest when I'm at a Starbuck's just because I love the flavor. Anyway, when I was having fits with my tummy using the blonde roast did seem to be easier on my gut. Susie - thanks for starting us off. We might be posting at the same time here

Good Morning...just decided to get us started since I skipped the gym this morning...I may go up to the clubhouse and ride the bike for a few...ate way too much last night, and I didn't get to the gym yesterday either...now I am mad at myself. DH and I are skipping the lecture this AM since I got a quick DRs. appt for him --they are fitting him in--he has several moles that really concern me AND he is having several issues that he just keeps putting off. Then we have a meeting with DSon's company (a semi-annual report) and DS is speaking so we will go and support him. I sure hope we can get back home somewhere between all this, but just in case, we have to leave this morning dressed for the canal - supposed to be hot and humid ALL day.
We are going to try a canal cruise this evening and then dinner in the city with a group from the neighborhood. They have really tried to make sure everything is totally handicapped accessible, so we will see how it goes. I am sure we will get back late this evening (well, late for me anyway - ha).
Lora - hope you are doing OK...at least your eating is going well...boy, I need a shot of LORA - to get me revved up again - ha. I love the idea of the Lily rock! Be sure to show us when you finish it!
Jana - I can't wait to see the cabinets...whatever you decide. Congrats on 5 years...Will it be a bigger animal on the next plate? HA...
Robinmd that is too bad about your leg...darn..anything you break, fracture, whatever...always comes back to haunt you as you get older. I have been having real issues with my knee lately and it was really good for awhile. I guess I should just lay off the gym, but excess walking is what really seems to bother it. I had totally forgotten about the accupunture for my auras... I am really tempted to think it may have something to do with all the eye issues I have had since my cataract surgery....but I will ask around...surely someone in my neighborhood has tried it.
Janet - definitely 180 is better than 200...keep going...all that swimming is really good for you.
OK...I have now wasted so much time that I will not get to the clubhouse before I head out...I think I will do some knee exercises.

Good morning everyone -
Trying to stay in my post-massage relaxed state. Lots to do at work and it is not fun having to wait on other people for things to get done.
Lora I love the idea of painting a rock in Lily's honor. I hope that is cathartic.
Susie I hope DH's dr appt goes well.
I'm waving to everyone.

Hi Everyone, Robin, sorry that your leg is hurting you. My knee has been bothering me. I have arthritis in it. I walk with it anyway but the other night when I walked around my development twice by the time I was getting back to my apartment it was hurting already. Today I need to get to the bank to get some change. I should have just put my other dollar in the change machine the other day at the library but didnt want to use my last dollar I had plus I wasnt sure if that would have even been enough anyway. I need some cash anyway. Tommorow I am planning to get together with my friend tommorow for breakfast. I need to confirm with her Its been a while since we have got together. I dont think that we were ever able to connect last year. We tried but the times just didnt work out. She is retired but is always taking care of her sister's kids or her grandchildren or away at their other vacation house in central Pennsylvania. Saturday, I think I may go to Cape May NJ. I have been back and forth about it because it is a much longer drive and I dont think we will have more than one car which means we will be squished in the car for longer. I'd like to get to the ocean again tho but hope it will be calmer than the last two times. If I dont go I could go again after Labor day weekend when they have this event called The Plum Festival. The beaches are open and have life guards for that last weekend at the beach we usually go to. Oh well, I guess that I should get myself moving. Soon there will be no more lounging around on the weekday at least during the day except on the weekends. Have a nice day!

Well, DH's Dr appt went well...I guess I will never ask about his moles again...they meet ALL the criteria for melanoma but 3 different Drs over the past several years have told me it is nothing to worry about. I think our primary care physician, who we saw this morning called it a Seborrheic keratoses. OK... I will leave DH alone... I guess since I had a melanoma and get every little thing that concerns me removed, I am a worrywort.
Next up is the meeting with DS and some of his clients. Then I think we will drive straight into Richmond to the canal and try to get there early enough for DH to find adequate parking.
Janet - is it next week that you go back to work?
Amanda - good luck in trying to stay relaxed... let us know any secrets you discover.
Lora - yes we were posting at the same time this morning. I am trying to draw on my "Lora vibes" to get me all psyched up and motivated - ha -
Off and running again.... probably won't be back til late this evening.

Okay, so I changed my profile pic here to my "Lily Rock". It's not exactly how I envisioned it would turn out, but it is clearly her. Lol. I struggle sometimes with knowing when to quit on these rocks. I can't even tell you how many times I'll add "just one more little detail" and then end up ruining the whole thing. So, I'm squashing my perfectionist tendencies and just letting it be as the final product. The bright pink background is the color or her 2 favorite hoodies, so that had meaning too. I feel so good about having done this, and yes it is very cathartic. I actually have Jana to thank, as a couple of months ago when I was feeling so blue and missing my mom so much on her b.day, Jana suggested that I do a memorial rock in her honor. I did, and that just turned it all around for me, and made me feel so much better. So, to Jana I just have to say...Thanks again Girlfriend!! Susie - Oh gosh! So glad the moles turned out to be nothing to worry about! I'm not sure what to tell you about getting your mojo back, except to just reach out with both hands, grab on and hold tight! You've got this! Amanda - I hope you've been able to keep your massage state of mind! Waiting for other people to do their work so that you can do yours just blows. I used to hate that. Janet - I hope you get your errands accomplished and that your friend is able to meet you for breakfast. That sounds fun. I'm not sure what all we have planned for the weekend, but I think DH and I might go to lunch and a matinee tomorrow. It would our first movie since well before we moved here. He wants so see Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, so we'll probably do that. I have no clue what's even out there at this point. Lol. Feeling a little theater disconnect living out here in the boonies.

I did get the errands done and then met my friend at the pool. I always seem to get the same bus and get up there earlier but I just get out for a bit if I get cold and get back in when she comes. I'll be back at work already as they will be closing that pool next week already. There may be some other pools that will stay open an extra week. When all else fails we go up to the pool at the state park not too far from us. By then I should have my car. Lora, I like your picture of Lily. Can I change mine using my phone? Ive tried before but I havent been able to. I think I have to do it on a computer? Susie, enjoy the canal ride. I hope you got a chance to rest a little bit. I do go back to work Monday.Ugh! But I think I am ready too in a way. Have a good remainder of the night.

Good evening ROs. Just lost my whole post - I have a new laptop and wrote the post as guest, then tried to sign in. Now I'm signed in, but what I wrote is gone... I'll do personals tomorrow, don't think I can recreate everything I wrote.
I know I didn't post yesterday - no laptop, and I haven't tried to post from my phone, am not the best at typing there. I was in the city in the evening at a concert with XDH which was actually fun - I enjoy talking to him about our kids - nice to have someone to share that with even if we're not married. Got home super late and I'm sure I'll crash early tonight. At least I was busy at work and the day flew by.
Let me at least say a quick hello to you all. Lora, I'm glad you found such a wonderful and compassionate vet and that Lily passed peacefully. I love the rock you're planning!
Amanda, hope you hung on to that mellow feeling.
Janet, wish I could go to Cape May with you. I've never been there and I love the Jersey beaches and ocean. I'd probably be happier in September when there are fewer crowds and it's not so hot.
Susie, I get crazed as you do about moles and the like, having had skin cancer myself plus my dad died of untreated skin cancer. I think you did the right thing - now you know there's nothing to worry about.
Have a lovely evening all.

Well, I am on post #2, since I lost my first one....I think I'll just say hello to all!
Lora, I love the Lily Rock! My YDD liked that movie. She said that the girl that plays Sharon Tate was really good, too.
Andi, I'm having issues too!
Susie, glad DH's appointment was a good one. Sorry your knee has been bothering, especially as much as you enjoy your walks.
Janet, I hope you will get in one more trip to the beach. I love Cape May. We used to go to Stone Harbor a lot, too...
Well, I got that done without losing it, HA! I am going to catch up better next time, but for now, I am going to call it a night and get ready for work tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good evening!
