Wasn't OP, didn't go grocery shopping, did walk 15 minutes, cleaned a bit. Life is good and today will be better food choices and more walking. Hope to go shopping later today. I made pancakes for breakfast thinking the recipe used one egg BUT it used two so I used 1 tbsp ground flax seed in 3 tbsp hot water for the second egg and forgot the sugar (entirely) and think they were the best pancakes ever! Made fig jam we put on the pancakes and also made some bean burgers yesterday - they are frozen and ready to use in sandwiches in the future.
LYNN: The movie sounds interesting - glad you enjoyed it. How fun to be going to see an old friend and how nice that her daughter organized the gathering. I hope the meeting is okay. If not, perhaps we can set up an ONLINE meeting in this forum for weigh-in and a thought for the week.
BEVERLY: Sounds like your son's trip to NY is a fun one for him and his wife! Pasta does it to me in the night and THEN I have all the leftovers and eat them the next day...SO, today I am back OP again
PAM: Glad to here the party with family was fun and that the youngsters headed off and you were able to rest and relax in the evening.
CHERRY: I *hate* it when a long post poofs into nothing! I love the way you call the construction crew the destruction crew...what dumbies they are! I took my children to a variety of churches when they were little. We would move to a new location, try out a few churches and then move. The kids like the Methodist church best because...they served donuts after Sunday school...go figure. My daughter liked another one (can't remember the denomination) because a neighbor friend took her. Don't think either go to church any more. I think sometimes church provides "community" that is not found easily in regular society.

Hello all!
I was up early and am now having breakfast. Not too much on the agenda today. It is nice and not as humid as it has been.I may do some reading or head to a store and walk around.
I will have a busy weekend, so I am glad to have down time now. I'm looking forward to the play!
Enjoy your day!

Good morning. Yesterday I got my green beans frozen and my beets cleaned. I had quite a few small ones, about the size of a large marble which I cooked last night and had about half of them for supper along with a few beet tops. I had put the beets and tops in a bag and stored them in the fridge for a couple days, so many of the beet tops were all wilted. I also had some green and yellow beans last night for supper, along with some quinoa. I have cooked beets to warm up for supper tonight. I also have some larger beets for later. These all came from thinning the row growing in the garden. Today I think I'll thin the second row of carrots, so I'll probably have some carrots for supper tonight too. I've also gotten 2 ripe tomatoes and 3 cucumbers from the garden. Plus lots of chard and one summer squash. Oh, I have sugar snap peas picked that I need to take care of. Some I'll just keep in the fridge and some I'll freeze.
I didn't get much real exercise done yesterday but I did do a lot of moving around. I used the elliptical until I wore out, which was about 4 minutes. It's amazing how long it takes to build up time on an elliptical. Much longer than it does on a treadmill. I suppose it is because the body and legs are supplying the energy vs the treadmill where it supplies the energy and the body and legs are just keeping up the movement.
Have a nice day, beaches.

Good morning friends,
Not a lot going on here today, I am getting ready for my Women's Club Summertime Tea Party, which is this Sunday. Everybody who wants to, sets up a table. There is a theme each year, this year it is TV shows. I racked my brain trying to come up with a show to do & I just couldn't come up with anything. I finally decided just to do do "TV watching". I have a cutout tv prop for making pictures, I have the tin plates (sectioned like tv dinners came in) for my guests to eat out of, also a rabbit ear style antenna as a centerpiece. Red & white checked tablecloth & napkins. I think it will come together cute. We will set up tomorrow for the tea on Sunday. I think this will be the last year that I will do a table. I will just attend as a guest from now on. It is a lot of fun, but it is also a lot of work. Anyway, I will start getting things together & load the car today.
My little exercise routine is going pretty good. I try to do 300 or more leg lifts (I do sets of 50, scattered through the day), then at night, I do 15 min on the exercise bike, some stretches & walking in place, also a few arm exercises. This takes about 30 min. I am beginning to feel the results. I haven't lost any weight, but my mentally I have pretty much gotten out of the funk that I had been in for a few months. I will add more outside walking, soon as the weather cools a bit.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday & the beginning of a great weekend.

Looking at the beautiful blue sky as I relax a bit. My nephew had breakfast with us before heading to mom’s with dd. I’m glad he appreciated his room here. He flies home this afternoon. I think mom’s house is still full😊.
I did get a workout in this morning then walked through the grocery store several times as I picked up a few needed items.😊 Have a great day beaches and keep smiling.
