Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning all,
Heading to work soon. Had a good CBing day yesterday. I decided to tackle the glassware in my kitchen cupboards. I started pulling them out, didn’t realize how many were actually there. Quite a few in the cupboard above the fridge, forgot about those. Washed them to get the grit off, wrapped each in paper towels and put in 2 boxes . Took them to Amvets. Felt good to get them out of my house.
Other cashier was supposed to be in FL, but plans changed. She is working with me today for about 5 hours. She is still taking off the rest of the week, but I’m glad to have the help today.
See ya later.

Good morning,
Looks like your weekend started out busy ...
Had a fun day at work yesterday. Pam (other cashier) worked with me, and one of the female techs who is on light duty also helped out with the scanning. We got her to help answering the phones, and Pam taught her how to make folders. Enjoyed having her around for the day. The 3 of us spent a lot of time laughing, time flew by. They had a promotion, so sales was busy too. That promotion will take place the next 2 Saturdays so there will be a lot of foot traffic in the dealership. They made their sales goal yesterday, so the promo worked.
Returning a couple of items I bought at Amazon, that means a trip to Kohl’s. Then heading to grocery store. Since I’m working extra hours next week, I’m prepping my meals today. Planning on steak stir fry with lots of peppers and onions. I buy the individual rice cups to go with the stir fry. I’ll buy some cut up fruit, and a couple of bags of garden salad. I have my game plan for the week. I was down 1.2 this week, so it looks like my post vacation eating is back on track. Weather looks promising for my morning walks this week too.
Not sure what else I’ll do today, but I’m sure some kind of CBing will be done. Laundry too.

Joyce, sounds like you had a good and productive weekend. Always nice to accomplish a lot and have a nice time also.
Ruth, hope you are getting some rest this weekend. Is everything finished with the remodel?
Busy and tiring weekend for us. The grands were is a non-listening mode for parts of the weekend. They also were forgetting their “please and thank-you”, when I commented on that oldest DGS (9) said he thinks they have had too much vacation. They were gone for a few days but I think he for one is looking forward to the structure of school. They have a nice house and big lot but there aren’t many kids in the neighborhood. As a result DDIL spends a lot of time with them except when they have a play date or they invite a friend to the house. She likes it like that – she said her mother spent all summer doing things with them. I think that kids need friends their own age. There were so many kids in our neighborhood that the boys always had someone to play with – it was and still is a great neighborhood.

Good (almost) Sunday evening. Sorry I’ve been so scarce this weekend. It was not a good one. The weather was grey, gloomy, and rainy until late this afternoon. Sun is out now. Yesterday I was just down in the dumps. And I was really irritated with the scheduler for the construction company. He’s young and has a lot to learn about communication between his clients and his work crews. Even they said they get frustrated with him, but I won’t tell him they said that.
Work is not done. The floor people need to come back and get all the glue stuff off the floor. The flooring feels awful and we know from experience it shouldn’t. It’s the same exact flooring (different pattern) that we have in the kitchen/dining area/bathroom/and laundry room. It just doesn’t feel the same underfoot and some is glue, some is it just needs a good scrubbing I’m guessing! Also, the painter has to come back and do a LOT of touch up. Behind the toilet in the half bath wasn’t painted last summer and the new toilet tank is way smaller than the old one, so lots of white showing. And then along the baseboards, around the doors, etc. need touched up. I’m hoping since we were nice to him and let him put his truck in our garage when we had the hail warnings last time he was here that he’ll get back here in a timely fashion to finish up. The cleaners are scheduled for about noon tomorrow to do an overall cleaning of that area. They want it done before the painter comes back.
Then they need to schedule our closing. I had sent the scheduler a list of days early this week when we would be available for the closing. Mon-Wed because Thursday I’ll be packing, doing laundry, and getting a hair cut and I don’t want to deal with it and Friday morning we will be out the door really early and on the road to Carol’s house. About a 10-11 hr trip. I sent him the schedule, then that night I get back a schedule from him saying that closing would be Thursday or Friday. I replied (to him and to the big boss) and asked if he had even bothered to look at my email with the times we would be around. I told them that we had expected them to be finished last Friday according to their schedule, so we had scheduled other appts and things this week and they would need to schedule at our convenience. I have not heard back from them. But it didn’t help my mood with the gloomy weather yesterday.
We ran some errands and just relaxed and took it easy. Today was similar. Stan & Maggie got in a run this morning and DH did a little mowing. Then we went to Ikea and Target and back home to do a few chores. Going to make BLT’s for dinner in just a bit.
Dottie, we’ve had those “not listening” days and it’s so frustrating. And they know to use please and thank you, but they forget. We’re starting to work on that with Mara too. I always said if a child can say cookie, they can say cookie please!!! Or thank you after getting it.
Joy, you are getting rid of so much stuff. I got rid of some papers and things yesterday and I’m using up some of my yarn stash making dish rags. I’m putting together a couple yarns that coordinate and that I don’t have enough of each to make a complete dish rag but can with combining. I am accumulating a pile of dishrags. Have a few in mind for some friends, but will have extras.
Ok, off to make dinner. Will check in later tonight or will try to be here tomorrow. I have PT fairly early. Have a good night.
