WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

Will not track today, I need a break. Plus we have the last graduation party of the season this evening and I want to enjoy it. I’m happy to be going in to teach a class this morning, it will get me away from this house painting madness. DH and the guy we hired to help were covering and taping off windows last night using a lift. Somehow, our front lawn is wet enough that the lift got stuck. What a mess. They’ll have to run it along sheets of plywood when they do the front of our house.
Lori, I love the look of a metal roof! It is slightly less expensive than a shingle roof, I think because they do not need to remove the existing shingles when they put it on. It lasts so much longer than a shingle roof also. The downside is the noise when it’s raining, though I don’t mind because my parents had a metal roof when I was young. We will also probably have to get some sort of cell phone booster, and we’re not sure how the dog’s electric collar transmitter will work with the metal roof.
Kathy, I checked amazon for cherry poppyseed dressing—$10 a bottle. I’m thinking it might be worth it.... Have a wonderful time at the wedding!
Nancy, hope you are making wonderful memories!

Thursday's Stats: SP 18 AP 3 Steps 5560 WP remaining 21 Water 48 oz
Friday's Stats: SP 28 AP 4 Steps 5930 WP remaining 21 Water 52 oz
When I weighed at home this morning I showed 140.x (I honestly can't remember if it was 0.7 or 0.3). I was so surprised by the 140 and the loss of over 3 lbs in one day. That would have put me back into LT free status. I knew that I had been experiencing higher weights at the Workshop than at home. So I wasn't upset to see 141.6 there. That's 2.4 lbs down from last week. In any case because I had been coming to Workshops (I had purchased a discount pass that ended last week) I only had to pay $10.
Jan-great job by the soccer team. I still can't believe the August dates the schools around me open. I'm one of those who started the Tuesday after Labor Day. I think I would have been upset by the lack of a shady place to chill also. As for the dislike of disorder you would be surprised by the mess I have here. I just don't keep up with anything; the key issue is I get way too much mail and I let it pile up. Secondly, I have way too many things; I have been making trips to Good Will but not enough of them. Thanks for the report on the Beyond Meat burgers. That's something I might look for.
Kathy-I might also look for your cherry poppyseed salad dressing. I'm currently using Ranch, which I had stopped using for a while. The salad you made sounds wonderful. DM and I have given up on peaches though. I can't seem to find any that have really ripened at the store we shop. Your Sister's wedding looks like a delightful event. Hope everything is going well. As for the self discipline it is not working very well on the house cleaning. I do have someone who comes to do the kitchen and bathroom every two weeks but without the clutter she would be able to do more. DM is declining in many ways. For instance she was putting away the groceries as I got them in from the car but, except for her Ensure, is no longer doing it. She's more dependent on her cane for walking. The forgetfulness has gotten worse. Some of the situations have taken me a while to recognize. She wants to go back to NH if shes goes into a facility because her burial plot is there. However, some of the people who do the assistance you need to get through the paperwork have told me that she might not be able to get into a facility there as she has no recent address there. One factor that I know though is when doing searches on facilities and asking for this area I get returns that include facilities in the area she lived too. It's approximately 80 miles to there from here.
Lori-0.6 lbs from LT free. Your peach recipe looks wonderful also. I love using cinnamon with my fruits especially when using plain Greek yogurt with them. I also use that mixture with Nutty Nuggets cereal (store brand of Grape Nuts I think).
Off to make myself some lunch.

Nancy, hope your having a fabulous time!!! And your plan is working well for you... Jan, Enjoy the last graduation party! Wow, surprised to here the metal roof is cheaper and didn’t realize it may interfere with the cell phones. I also love the look! I’m not sure if the noise will bother me or not. Our first project is to have about 12 very large, dead trees removed...then the roof. Louise, Congrats so close to Lifetime!! My scale is always slightly different then WW. So I use mine as a guide and WW’s as the official! Kathy, Congrats to the Bride and Groom!!! Have a Wonderful Celebration!!
My plan is to stay OP this weekend so I can enjoy a few treats in Texas...

Lori-I used to have a scale which was consistently higher than the WW one. Now the one I have is lower.
