Mj Great plans for Sunday. Enjoy being Paul Bunyan, your steak dinner, and race time. Soooooo funny about Toots. Had this thought-- why would we ever want to trade ours in when these ones are so entertaining?

June, great story about your mom. My dad was a businessman. He and a partner owned a children's shoe factory in New York. My mom thought he was very handsome. She was a buyer at Lerner's. She used to ride the subway he was on even though it went in the different direction from where she lived. She did it to get up the nerve to talk to him so she definitely went after him but not on a horse, on a subway in NYC in the 1930s. I have a bad cough and sore throat because Bob always insists on keeping windows open on the coast. It is cold at night but not for him. Lily Belle has diarrhea for some unknown reason and this morning there are ants in our kitchen eating area. They have never been there before and were not there when we ate dinner last night. My weight needs serious attention so I have replanned the meals. Not a good home coming. MJ, Bob has a huge hearing challenge. Last night he said can you hear what that person is saying on the television. When I repeated the lines he said I guess my hearing is getting bad. I have told him this for three years. It will take three more for him to do something about it. Glad you had fun at the picnic. Bee, that is so funny.

Audrey Good that you are so in tune w/ what to do to "afterwards." And very likely some of that is water retention from sodium, sugar, and traveling. I know that I can do everything right and carry 3-31/2 lbs after a trip.
Oh no... that is a a lot to be added onto the unexpected passing of George. Hope that you can take something OT to help your sore throat & cough. If it not too bad, a peppermint candy helps me. Poor LB. could she be upset about George's death? Or was the drive too much? Been done that same hearing loss road.... I was tempted to finish & share this thought-- "You would think that DHs would..." And then I just busted out laughing. NO need to finish that thought, because in real life whatever statement I made would be false.

(((Audrey))) that truly IS a lot to come home to. Praying that you get the ant/diarrhea/and your cough and sore throat under control. I can sympathize with you re: Bob's hearing loss. Carl worked on an air craft carrier when in the service lost hearing there and then proceeded to do auto body work and lost hearing there. At first I thought it was just hearing of convenience...but he really NEEDS help in that department. The old adage "you can lead a horse to water but can not make him drink" rings true!!!!
Back from a walk, had lunch and now going to just sit and be for the rest of the day. I'm still in discomfort and SO looking forward to getting this surgery behind me. Not till the 27th but I'm counting the days!!!!!
Talk tomorrow.

Ann Sending you a big, big hug. Have been keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as your surgery date nears. R's job surely ne ER helped his hearing. But neither did rock n roll concerts & his stereo system in his van.

I hear ya on the rock 'n roll concerts. I've attended more than my fair share. Fortunately it never bothered my hearing. 'They say' that if you have bad eyesight your hearing takes over. That is most definitely the case with me LOL.
Thank you for the hug and prayers, June

I agree with the others.I love getting to know the rest of you better.
June I can eat almonds everyday or every other day in moderation and even measure them but if I were to have cashews in the house I would eat them all at one setting probably.Continued prayers for you and Richard.I'm glad he could get cobra.
Bee We have dragonflies but I had never heard of mosquito hawks.
June That's one funny story about how your mom snared your dad.I'm glad you had a captive and entertaining audience.I'm sure they enjoyed the story.
Cathy Good goals.Yes we do have humidity. We don't have a central AC/heating unit so that's why we only turn the window AC on when needed and this time of year it's always needed.Houston is closer to the Gulf of Mexico so their humidity is usually higher year around. My husband won't touch a computer after he has plugged it in for me.LOL.He is not high tech.He still uses a flip phone but that's what he wants and that's fine with me.My DH will tell me he is just resting and before long he is snoring.
Bee That middle age poster is me a lot of the time.

June I agree with sometimes just wanting to post ditto after someone else posted their goals. It is so nice both your mom and you are adjusting so well to her nursing home.
Ann I hope you don't see Mr Bear in your travels today.
Susi It's really great that you take care of the ferals and any cats that show up.
MJ It sounds like you had a fun day yesterday.Hope it's not too wild today.
June Ditto moment on ours being so entertaining especially after we have been able to train them so well.NOT!!!I have had mine so long I just don't want to have to break in a new one.
Ann I was also up 0.4 and I didn't eat more almonds than I had tracked for. They don't even have any sodium so I can't blame that either.Protein is a good story to stick to.

Audrey So funny about your mom going after your dad too.My dad was 21 and my mom was 18 when they married.I never heard the story behind how they met but my dad used to tell everyone they had to get married.Mind you this was in the 1940's.There would be a long pause and then he would add they had to get married because he couldn't live without her any longer.I hope your cough and sore throat goes away soon.I know you will stick to your plan to lose that weight. When you do that you lose quickly. When I need to lose I lose very slowly.Did you get rid of the ants?We still get some daily it seems like.I am a walking ant sore I have so many bites.I hope LB feels better soon.
Ann Continued prayers and (((hugs))) for you as well.I'm sorry you are still hurting.

Willing to be willing as I track, hydrate, and move today. Dh and I got to church, breakfast, then wandered through the farmers market and grocery store. We ran the car through the car wash and are now working on laundry.
Still smiling at your stories today.
