This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning friends.
I've been up since 3am. I just woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. I should probably go ahead and plonk my chuck roast into the crockpot. I haven't made roast in a very long time. For whatever reason DH thinks he's not a fan, so I rarely make one (for a non-fan, he sure does always gobble it up). I've been wanting some, so picked one up during the shop on Saturday. I'll be making an Italian shredded beef recipe that I've made a couple of times before.
Not much happening around here today. The weather is supposed to be pretty miserable and hot. The "real feel" or "heat index" will be 105 to 110 degrees this afternoon. I guess that's the payback for the fairly mild weather of a couple of weeks back. I'm glad we got the yard taken care of yesterday when it was topping out in the low to mid 90s, having to do it today and by myself would have been soul crushing and taken forever with all the breaks that I would have needed! Anyway, I need to run out to the Ace Hardware in town to pick up a replacement air filter for the A/C. I tried to by it while we were out shopping Saturday, but of course the two places I looked for it either didn't carry or were out of the size we use. <eye roll>
Robin MD - I certainly do love the new quick oil change process. That's a super feature that I didn't even realize existed when we bought the machine. Haha
Okay, I'm going to go get working on that roast and actually do something productive this morning. Have a great day everyone! I'll BBL

Good morning Lora and all to follow. I still have your beef roast recipe in my recipe folder but haven't made it yet, sadly. I just can't figure out a way to make that much food and get it eaten. There are some things I think it's hard for single people to manage. Someday I'll have guests and will definitely do it then. I want to do that one and the barbacoa one. Your heat does sound oppressive - I don't envy you. When it's in the 90's here it feels suffocating.
I got to PT this morning but it was dark when the alarm went off so I'm beginning to feel the pain of that. Not sure how long I can continue 3 times a week, both because of wear and tear on me and the money, but for now I'll keep trucking.
I got home to find 2 police cars and an ambulance blocking the entrance to my driveway. I have a very frail and demented neighbor next door who apparently fell and everyone's standing around trying to figure out what to do with her. By the time I got here she was in her wheel chair but her husband doesn't seem to be around. Not a pretty picture.
And first up this morning I have to deal with the situation with my PR Director. I just feel dreadful about it. I want to reassure his staff and come up with a coverage plan but on top of everything the timing is terrible because he was in the middle of merger plans for his department with our counterpart organization. Just a miserable, scary situation. I hope he makes it.
OK, enough depressing conversation. Beautiful weather here, I'm working at home and then derm appointment at 5. I have a list of complaints, hahaha. Enjoying my coffee now, will bbl.

Good Morning Lora and ATF - I got up and took a quick, short walk...heading to neuro fit with DH and then we are taking that neighbor out for lunch. Gotta run...DH is giving me that look.
Continued Later ....DSister came over to the hospital where DH does NF and we had a short visit outside...the weather is beautiful. Got home and picked up DNeighbor and went to Longhorn for lunch. I had the grilled chicken/strawberry salad with the dressing on the side. It was nice to be able to take DN out ...great conversation. We are home for the afternoon, then will go see DGS take his swim lesson tonight...heading outside to read now.
Andi - we were posting at the same time this morning, so I just went in to edit my post. Sounds like a very stressful day for you so I am glad you got to PT. Hope your co-worker is OK
Janet - oh my, not a great start to the new year...hope things get better as the day goes on....

Hi Everyone! Back to work! Ugh! I knew that my partner was changing things around which in general I was agreeable but since things are moved around I cant find certain things. One thing is the whole set of books that were part of the kit that wasnt supposed to be separated which now is separated. Grr!! It is a 2,000 dollar set. I told our director to tell her to be sure it wasnt separated and she said she did tell her. My partner supposedly will be in tommorow so I will have to ask her where she put it. Its needs to be accessible for me to teach with. So now I feel a bit frustrated but she really has the room together a lot and last year we had to wait so long to do anything because they hadnt cleaned the floors Unfortunately, I cant do much with making name tags for cubbies or other lists for attendance, etc. Now I have to be with kids at 11:30-4. Double Ugh! Not so many but not easy kids to deal with. I have a feeling this day is going to be long. Andi, sorry about your coworker. I hope things will get better for him and he will pull thru. How long did you have to wait until you got in? How was your lunch at the lake? Did you swim or no? Got to go. Take care.
