Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Dottie- I can still remember summer vacation when I was a kid. I thought it was too long and I was one of those kids that couldn’t wait to go back to school. It probably was the structure that I missed.
Ruth - when I read what you’v gone through with this remodel I shake my head. Scheduling the closing walk on the days you said wouldn’t work would have had me screaming In my pillow. I know you are going to let the company know how unhappy you were with the communication but I think you should also give a review on Yelp. I read those reviews and they do help me decide which company to go with. It sounds like they know about the communication problem but aren’t willing to do anything about it.
Today is cloudy but oh so comfortable. Feels more like September. It is going to get hot later this week, but for now I’m enjoying the cool.
Not much CBing planned for the week since I’ll be going in early all week. OT check was nice, extra spending money for my vacation. There’s a huge 41,000 sq foot gift shop that we will be going to and I’m sure something will be coming home with me. I’m actually looking for a ceramic Christmas tree with lights, maybe I’ll find one there.
That’s about all for this morning. Have a great day

Good morning. Just a quick check in before I get ready to head out to PT. Cleaners should be here shortly after I get home. Joy, that’s a good idea to do the review on Yelp! I’ve never gone there and should check them out. I think they are trying to work with Jacob. He’s just young (mid-20’s) and fairly new to the job and he’s learning as he goes. I will give him/them some things to think about! I worked with a lot of new young coaches when I was in the athletic office so I have some experience with these newbies!!! I hope they/he listen! I loved when school started too. Things were so awful at home that I wanted to be in school. Ok, heading to PT and then home for cleaners and other chores. Have a great day all. Will check in tonight.

Joyce, my oldest son really enjoyed school and was always happy to go back, he was a child who needed structure. Now his family is anything but structured – oh well. Sounds like it will be another busy week for you, extra $$ for your travels.
Ruth, hope the final inspection went okay and that you and Stan are happy with the results. I hope the company listens to your suggestions and follows them. By Sunday afternoon the “please and thank yous” had returned but I had to keep reminding them on Friday and Saturday. DDILs family is having lots of drama now and even though it doesn’t directly affect DS and DDILs family she is very involved with trying to help her parents work thru the drama. I think that is why things got so hectic at their house.
Didn’t sleep well last night so didn’t accomplish as much as I would have like to. We did take our car in first thing this morning, it should be ready by Wednesday afternoon. I don’t understand people who hit someone and won’t leave a note. I usually park far from other cars but sometimes if the parking lot is crowded that isn’t possible. Last load of L is ready to be folded and then finish dinner.

Dottie, final walk thru isn’t scheduled yet unfortunately. We told them we weren’t willing to close and pay until the work is done. The cleaners came today and did a great job. But they were told not to even try to get the glue off the new flooring, that they were to let the flooring company come and do it. That has yet to be scheduled. And the painter needs to come and do a bunch of touch up. Hoping he’ll be nice and fit us in since we let him put his truck in our garage during that storm last week. And the carpenters need to come back and do a better job of nailing down some of the baseboard moldings. They are way too loose for my comfort and I have visions of dirt and debris collecting behind them. They should be snug against the wall and there is a gap you could almost put a pencil into. Not all of it but in a few spots. Just some nails required I hope. If we have to wait until next week to close, so be it! Not my problem since the delays weren’t our fault. And they will schedule stuff now when it’s convenient for us! We were at their beck and call for 3 weeks, now it’s our turn to specify times. And it won’t involve getting up at 6:30 am either!
Although we do plan on being on the road by 6:30 am on Friday to avoid some rush hour traffic when heading to Carol’s house. I checked with my brother-in-law today just to verify that Carol was going to be up to having company this weekend. Doug sai she is tired, but doing so much better than last week. And the tired is just a fact of life anymore!!!
Dottie, I’m with you on not sleeping well. Seems it’s been forever since I had a really good night’s sleep. I think I’d sleep better if I were able to keep the fan on my nightstand on all night. DH says the noise keeps him awake (not every night it doesn’t!!). I get too warm otherwise. I finally got one of the pillows to go between your knees to keep your spine aligned during the night when you sleep on your side. Used it last night and it will take some getting used to. Still need to get a better pillow and more support for my neck. Looking at a neck roll to go into my pillowcase. And if I have to, I’ll go back to the sleep doctor and see about a new kind of cpap! They are coming up with new models all the time.
We picked up Mara this evening to avoid the morning thing. She is so funny! She was calling out to “Papa” dozens of times tonight and telling him stuff only she could understand. A fun change because last week she called Grandma over and over and over!!
Off to get a couple things done before bedtime. Thinking it will be an early one tonight. More tomorrow!!
