Love it Did another online order from Walmart grocery and Laken picked it on OTW home from work. This is great!! June, wiil keep you and R in my thoughts and prayers. I just know it will go well By the way I love the Golden girls Ann, I have to say I am envious of your cool weather and rain. Please send some down south. I need to finish my book I've got going on my kindle. Its started out great and now it just ok. Nothing I'm rushing to pick back up.

June, still praying for R and you.
Ann, felt sorry for Walmart when I was there this morning. All the freezers where the prepackaged frozen meals, frozen veggies, desserts, ice creams and such went out. Also the cooler section for the displayed beef and some seafood. That's a lot of loss at one time.
LaDonna, I just went outside to blow bubbles and see if I saw any meteors yet. It was warm, but not excessive. I just can't --- yet --- let someone else pick my veggies. LOL
Tomorrow is Free Tuesday and I shall stroll that Lane. Why, of course, I will be WILLING and AWARE.
Hope AWF have a great day!

Hi Everyone June, you and R continue to be in my prayers. I know the surgery will turn out well π LaDonna, there was extreme humidity where Bob grew up in East TX. It can be unbearable. June and Ann, great goals. Rachel and her family are coming for dinner but there preferred menu is grilled tilapia, green beans, rice pilaf, salad and dessert. I can work around that. Manicure at nine and then I am meeting my friend Paula to get thank you notes and a list for thank you's for the Extreme Makeover Home Edition Volunteers. I am part of a team of thank you writers

Am sorry.... I was too vague. Losing his job will be hard the next few days. He does not know whether or not the other company will still keep the position open for him. He has never been let go from any job. So this is uncharted waters. We will just have to work as a team.
His dr. specialize in minimal invasive spinal fusions, the bone graft will use R's bone , and the bone growth stimulator should add a speedier recovery. Cigna not cover the bone growth device. Negiotated a cash price. But perhaps it can be recalculated after the surgery when he has no job.
We have a good surgeon, and that gives us of lots of encouragement. He expects R to be well healed in two months. The surgery is next week.
I keep telling R that our only focus right now is his health. And I mean that.
Will go personals on the flip side. Am heading to bed with the intention of getting Avery solid night of sleep. It helps,

I will:
* write before I bite * hydrate * set the timer
Yesterday I realized that one of my favorite meals is around 500 calories or 10 points. It is a burrito and tasty but it was an eye opener. I had one for breakfast yesterday and another today for breakfast but am trying to figure out how to get the same "taste" and satisfaction without the calories. I know the tortilla is a whopping 4 points and a cup of brown rice would be about the same. Bulgur would be less points. The cheese is high in points, too. Ah well, having it for breakfast then eating less later is probably the way to go. It is warm. I am staying inside with lights off and fans blowing. It is also humid and the two do
MJ: Hooray for falling asleep and sleeping through the night. 4 hours of yard work must have been exhausting! It seems you have a plan to manage the grandsons and it works well!
JUNE: My brother had a Daniel Boone hat at one point and when younger had a cowboy had, holster and guns (he was under 5). I think part of that had to do with the programs on TV back then... My sister's husband, 64, has had two back surgeries so far with mixed results. He has just had a consult and is looking at having two more surgeries before the end of the year. Both is lumbar and cervical spine needs to be fused and they are doing an xlif or something like that. They are waiting to hear when. My sister is trying to focus on the positive, as are you. I think of you as I read her emails and of her when I read your comments. Keeping both you and your husband and cinde and her husband in my thoughts and prayers.
ANN: Our frig overflows with produce. I am hoping hubby will take some of the BAGS out and do something with them. The figs are getting iffy and should be dried or made into more jam...though I have plenty for myself already. I wonder what else one can do with too many figs? I used to love sitting on a screened porch. My sister even created one where one did not exist in one house she lived in. My daughter loved hers and I believe my son has one where he lives now. Sadly we do not have one and many of the screens on the windows are frayed so the windows stay closed How do you make your coleslaw? Do you have a low-point salad dressing you use?
BEE: I see cheesecake in my future for problem solving. Will have to tell my group on Wednesday this idea since we call ourselves The Golden Girls Thank you for the smile I wonder what a store does with the frozen goods when the freezers die?
SUSI: You mentioned going to the beach for a weekend...what beach do you go to? Our family, when we lived in Los Angeles/Eagle Rock used to go to Oceanside for a week and we loved stepping out onto the beach in the morning.
PAM: Hope the scale drops at weigh-in!
AUDREY: It sounds like the coast is hazardous to your and your dog's health! Who would have thunk it? It sounds like you had a BUSY day! It is never easy being a parent and always easier to be an observer and think one could do a better job. I understand why you wouldn't say anything but be doing a whole lot of thinking about saying something to your children...at least sometimes. Each child is different...that's for sure. I had the same toys in the house and my son and daughter gravitated to different toys and games and such without being pushed toward anything specific.
BECKY: I hope you can get rid of the ants and hope you don't get any more bites!
LADONNA: I stay inside, too, when it is hot! I almost gave up on a book yesterday...kept reading and reviewed it but sometimes I think it is well written just not what I want/need to read at that moment in time.
Okay...think I am done for now...see you all again tomorrow!

Thx for the continued support and prayers.
Ann Good plan for a rainy day! See that we are on the same wavelength-- restock some homemade frozen dinners. Soup's on! Or will be π
LaDonna Ugh. . . days w/ very high humidity and heat can make outdoor activity just plain miserable. We use to call that stretch of late summer weather the dog days of summer. Hope that your weather breaks soon since I know how much you love walking outdoors.
Bee j Enjoy the fellowship, discussion & insights, and the "stroll." Agreed... I like to pick my own produce. Doesn't always work out well. Sometimes when I am preparing produce to eat I ask-- what the heck was I thinking? seeing?
Those poor WM employees who had to clean upthat mess.
Audrey Good that your DD's family prefer fish, beans, salad as part of the dinner. Gives you a great base from which to build out the rest of what's on your plate. Are you & LB feeling any better? Hope so! Understand your concerns about Leo, Nora, and potential or current adaptations to school.
Becky Good to have a course plotted even if you get distracted and veer off. Your ants in TX remind me of the mosquitoes, deer flies, & no see'ums in Canada. There is no way you can be there and escape w/o some bites. If there is 1/4 " of exposed skin not sprayed w/ repellent, then it is fair game. Wearing Avon Skin So Soft helped me somewhat w/ the 'skeeters. . . That is, when I slathered it all over. Wonder if something like that would help you? Cathy Great bullet list for the day. Can be really helpful to take a fresh look at what' we are eating. Good brainstorming on how to tweak your burrito w/o scarficing the taste. Ha ha ha. . .children's TV programs inspired (and still do) many a birthday & Xmas presents.
Mj Enjoy the morning coffee Really nice that your grands were given extra time at the indoor trampoline. Sending up prayers for the Mouseketeer & all w/ love home . Testing boundaries can be exhausting for all, and never is "pretty work."

Waving hi to Susi & Pam. Will check back later if I can. Time for a cup of tea. Will indulge in another bubble bath. Busting out the lemon Pinesole and cleaning while "Momma Mia!" plays in the background. Will break for any singalong that pulls me into the living room.

Good morning all. Another good sleeping night This extra sleep in is really making me feel more energized during the day. LaDonna I don't blame you for not venturing out in that sauna like weather. That's how most of our entire summer has been...when it wasn't pouring! Praying for some relief for you. So happy that the Walmart orders are working out for you. I did check into it, and our small town Walmart does not offer that service. Bee what a shame that you Walmart experienced a power outage with the freezers!!!! Enjoy FREE TUESDAY Audrey enjoy Rachel and family and making out thank you notes with Paula. How nice of you to volunteer for that. Hope all works out well for Nora and Leo. LOL Becky I too veer off course at times. Great job on being planned and tracked Cathy that has happened several times to me. I 'think' that what I am eating is lower in points than it actually is! I agree...an eye opener for sure. Normally I'll check the points before I go out to eat...sometimes I don't and my guestimate is much lower! Live and learn. Hope you find wonderful ways to use up those figs June I know this job situation with R is making his uneasy. Praying for a good outcome there...but my main thought process is on his surgery. Sending HUGE hugs your way. Yup 'soups on' Today I'll also add 'hummus making' to my to do list. So far, no rain....and I haven't checked yet as to if it is going to happen. I'll just play it by ear. Enjoy Mamma Mia Such happy music to lift you up! Waving to all and wishing all a great OP day.

June - You both have so much stress at the moment. I know you need to keep the focus solely on R's health but it's also hard when outside factors influence health and feelings as well. Keeping the prayers going. Thanks for the update on the job and surgery. Hope you can negotiate an even better price. Ann - Glad you had a good night sleep. Sending prayers for you as well for your upcoming surgery. Glad the hospital is making it as easy as possible. LaDonna - Sorry about your weather. Hope it breaks soon. We are also getting the Triple H for the rest of the week but not as hot as you. Wow Bee! They don't have backup generators? Enjoy Free Tuesday Enjoy dinner with family Audrey. Becky - Stay cool!!!!!!! Cathy - I don't know what is available to you but here in the States there are many 1 or 2 point tortillas that can be used. Also use less rice and cheese and bump up the veggies. The beach I go to is called Island Beach State Park. 62 and older get a free pass to all state parks. This one is ocean on one side and bay on the other and a nature preserve of local flora and fauna. Red fox and osprey and all sorts of things to see and do. I'm in, planned and tracked. Due to employees going back to school or home, remaining employees are doing multiple jobs and multiple rates which is making payroll a nightmare. Just a few more weeks. Just keeping my head down and plowing forward. While having another body in the house for 5 days is not what I need right now, at least she is a very easy guest. Just limited in what she can do. Off to another long day.

Prayers continue for all ailing and/or stressed posters and loved ones... and thank you for your prayers for me and my family... especially for the Mouseketeer...
Additional prayers for all in the path of storms...

Yesterday was busy - GOOD busy. FourBoyz had fun, and the Kressling had a break here after soccer tryouts before he went home to play with his friends.
Today? DivaTaxi, quick run to ShopRite for bread, bkfst for Kressling, and now some list-making so we can get necessary errands run before the weather goes bad. I am taking the Mouseketeer to his counseling appt for 3 PM. Toots is supposed to have rehearsal tonight but has already e-mailed the two leaders about the forecast - they have guys who drive in from all over the state.
Coffee's good... βββ...
πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏ Have a healthy-eating day, all! πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏ
