Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Had a nice soaking rain overnight, ended about an hour ago and the skies are clear. We needed that rain.
Busy day in the office. A lot of the vehicles that were sold on Saturday were picked up yesterday. I took a cash payment of $10,000, all in $20s. Finance guy had to hand count the money first, then I recounted with the cash machine. I’m the only one that doesn’t have problems with the machine. I had a lot of experience when I was in Accounting, the bills need to be lined up just right. Who in the world carries 500 bills with them?! Ugh!
Ruth - sounds like all of the teams need to stop by to finish up their part of the project. How frustrating. I’m saving to get my tub replaced and want new flooring, hopefully next year. I.definitely learned a lot from your experience.
Sorry to hear that you are both having problems sleeping at night. I do get up once, around 4 for a bathroom run, but fall back asleep right away. I try to get 8 hours of sleep, and I do most nights.
I need to stop by DressBarn before work to pick up the last part of my order. Looks like the store will be closing next month. I’m going to miss shopping there.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, wow on the guy carrying 10K in cash. I’m sure you were happy to use the cash machine to count the money. I stopped in the Dress Barn near me a few weeks ago and their inventory was already way down. The sales person was practically rude when I asked a question so I just left. I used to buy a lot of my work clothes there.
Ruth, I can’t believe that you are still having to wait for a few things to be done before you sign off and pay them. I would think they would want to be paid fairly quickly. I slept better last night – don’t know why I have problems on some nights. I am very careful about caffeine – none after lunch. Bill uses his c-pap every night – he has a bad night if for some reason he doesn’t use it. Hope you find something that works for you. Glad to hear that Mara wants Papa instead of grandma – gives you a break.
It is raining here now – just lightly, hope it continues for a while, we really need the rain. Bill is working on a project for the company he retired from. They usually have a big project that they want him to do each summer. They wanted him to start in June when the new computer system was up and running. The new system still isn’t up and running but he is working on the project anyway because it might not be up till late fall. He is very frustrated, not with the project, but with the fact that the old system keeps shutting down and he has to reboot and even had to call the help desk for help several times. The problem is mainly with the remote workers. He told his supervisor that he is putting in for the time that he has to keep using to keep the program working. His supervisor said he understood that a lot of people are going thru the same problem. Actually Bill said he is only charging them for about ½ the time, he feels bad that this is taking forever.

Good afternoon all. Joy, wow, lots of cars sold! A DWWF just bought a used pick up truck from a dealer. They paid cash, but said she felt there was more paperwork involved than if they had set up payments on it. I’m guessing by cash, she meant a check, not real cash like you described. Maybe they just took cash out of the bank to pay for it! Otherwise there are sometimes issues about where the cash came from and was it reported and all. They are lucky to have you to know how to run that cash counting machine!
Joy, this has been a real learning experience. The company has so many new people and that is part of the problem. Biggest problem is the new scheduler. He has a LOT to learn. He seems like a nice guy, and he’s getting some better, but he still has a long ways to go! We will shop around before we do the shower. I think the shower will be phase 2 and then the countertop and sinks will be phase 3. There is nothing wrong with them, and I don’t dislike them at all.
Dottie, I think insomnia is just more common as we age. And then if you factor in a snoring husband, too warm environment, not comfortable bed, pillow, or whatever, it gets worse! I limit caffeine to morning also. And I have to watch chocolate too.
It’s nice that your DH can still do some part time work for his company. I think Stan would be much happier if he were doing something like that. He needs more mental stimulation than he’s getting playing with a toddler. Or playing games on his ipad. He needs to get back to ham radio or something. The computer problems of working remote would drive him nutty tho. Being a former programmer, he thinks it should all just work right the way it was intended on the first try!!!
I need to go empty the dishwasher and I think I’ll go start working on the bedroom upstairs. My combo craft room / bunk room for Harper & Sawyer. It’s gotten to the point where there’s just a path thru it to the beds and that bugs me. There is a huge bin in the closet of mixed craft things that needs sorted out. Think I’m going to put together a bin of stuff to either sell cheaply or just donate to someone. I have a lot of counted cross stitch kits (some new & never opened; some started and in various degrees of done) to do something with; and a few sewing things I’d like to actually do. But at this point I’d have to hang my sewing machine from the ceiling to have a chance to use it. So while Mara naps and Stan is at the cardiology office, I need to get moving.
Have a good day all. Sun is shining and I’m doing much better. May rain later today, but for now I’ll enjoy the sun!!!
