I think it is Wednesday...
Woke early with headache from a really bad teaching nightmare, the kind where it is first day, and everything is going wrong totally out of control; kids are rude; equipment fails; people keep coming in with papers and deliveries piled on desk over roll sheets; nobody will quiet down , and one says he does not need to listen to loser teachers who make little money because he will be a football star. Then after the next class arrives he comes in with principal to drop class and be nasty again. I have not had one of these in years and usually it is that I am walking around with a stack of photocopied stuff looking for the right room and nobody gave me my new schedule....administrative incompetency.
Finally lost two pounds!
Six month dermatologist visit...check on melanoma I had 17 years ago...mainly now just a skin check for any of the three kinds of cancer so prevalent here. We are like Australia in that regard.
Think I might go to Bed Bath and...for turn around thing for pantry and just gawking at what they sell now.

Linda, that must have been a heck of a nightmare for you to remember it so vividly. I havenāt dreamt about work in a long time. Have fun at BB&B. I like browsing there too. Hope all goes well at dermatologist. Congrats on 2 lbs gone.
Karen, I hope you are enjoying your Osteo session. How was Season 2 of Killing Eve? I have never watched it. Enjoy your bananas while you may. The Cavendish banana which we all find at the grocers is being attacked worldwide by a disease that has spread from continent to continent and has reached South and Central America. Before we know it will be extinct. There may be other kinds to be grown but they wonāt taste like the Cavendish. Little Miss Mary Sunshine, arenāt I? I donāt know if Iggy will get his half Friday or not. He got home at 11:30 am yesterday. He was supposed to drop the van and then go into the office, but since they had not hired any help he had to load all the booth stuff himself and he was all sweaty, so he made the executive decision to go home and stay there. He hasnāt come back home yet this afternoon, so I guess they did not fire him. He worked all weekend, so I donāt see why he should have gone to the office in the first place.
Liz, please donāt stay away because you canāt be upbeat. Thatās when you need us the most. Who are you going to b!tc3 to when you need to vent? Everyone needs an outlet. Let us be yours. I thought I had read that your telecommute request had already been approved. š¤ Tell your DS some home truths, that you need to take care of you and where is her support of you when you need someone? Let SMās family get her situated, since they donāt seem to care what your side of the family thinks. Okay, Iāll shut up now. That is a cute picture of Zoe with the basket of toys. Great news on the ultrasound of the leg.
Kathy, wow on DMās 90th birthday. She sure is active and I am sure that helps keep her going mentally as well. Any special plans for her birthday? Are she and the aunts planning a getaway?
Becky, I have lived with a window AC and it is a lot different than central air. We used to just have it in our apartment bedroom and it didnāt get turned on until we got hime from work. I wonder why you have to wait so long for Dish? Maybe because you arenāt in the city? When do you get your gym membership? Is it this September? I am glad we got the recumbent bike when we had more disposable income. It has been a life saver because of the dodgy hip.
I just did humdrum chores today and got on the bike and did some exercises and stretches. Dinner is easy. Caprese salad with toasted flat bread ribbed with garlic. It has a nice garlic flavor with no oil or butter. I cut the flat bread into slices and drizzle a little olive oil on them and toast them in the oven. Then while they are still hot I rub the garlic clove on them. If it werenāt for Iggy I would skip the EVOO altogether.

Thanks for the start, Chele. You had me going with the "Thursday" in the thread title. I didn't think it was an Osteo day quite yet. Then I noticed the date and your reference to hump day. Sorry Iggy ended up having to do the manual labor yesterday. Don't blame him for coming home after that. Are your allergies improving? Did you make a batch of tomato sauce? I saw that I have a couple of Asian eggplants just about ready to pick. I hope some of the cucumber blossoms will fruit in about 10 days so I can enter some cukes in the fair. I need 3 in order to enter and they seem to be fruiting one at a time. Killing Eve is pretty good. You need to start from the beginning so the character interactions make sense. It's a little quirky, but then that's just Sandra Oh. I had heard that about the bananas, sadly. Dinner sounds good. What time should we be there?
Linda, I'm still chuckling about the moron who somehow missed the @ symbol. Must not have email but works on a computer? Arya gets Royal Canin Dental for treats and loves it. I probably need to give her more than she gets. It seems to work pretty well. Are you back in the 1-teens today? Sorry you still have those teaching nightmares after the time you've been out of the classroom. I retired 4 years ago next month and I think I only had the bad administrator days for the first couple of years. Congrats on the loss. Hope the dermatology appointment goes well. Go to BBB while you can. They may be closing.
I'm surprised that all the schools in FL didn't have AC, Kathy. Or is it hotter and more humid there now due to climate change? Roller coaster ride is a great description of Killing Eve. Are you and DS discussing anything special for DM's "big 90"?
Becky, it's a good thing you noticed the issue with the DVR. It's a shame you won't see a technician until late next week. Bet it would be different if you were a new customer. We were supposed to get 3 rounds of rain yesterday but the last 2 fizzled before they got to us, so we ended up with about 1/4 inch. Are you expecting anything any time soon? Maybe you'll get a weak Gulf system to bring you a couple of inches sometime this month.
Liz, like Kathy and Chele said, vent away. We don't mind. We're here for you! Congrats on the ultrasound results. I hope that's helping with at least some of the pain. Hope you're enjoying your day.
I swam early this morning so Dale could go to the trails at a state park about 45 minutes from here. He just walked in the door about 5 minutes ago. I made a loaf of sweet potato banana bread to enter in the fair and I think it came out pretty well. I also got the photos we are entering matted and sleeved and will drop them by the fairgrounds tomorrow, along with my crochet items, on my way to Osteo. I just have to keep my plants alive and do plant ID tags for everything and I'm good to go.

Chele, thanks for the start. I'm a bit wiped out. I had to be downtown at 8am for jury duty. Again! I just had it about a year and a half ago. I got called in the first group, but didn't get chosen for the jury, so was free again at 12:30. But, I made $15! That's the standard jury duty pay per day. I'll try not to spend it all in one place. I don't see why Iggy should've gone in on a Sunday either, especially with no help on loading the stuff. Sad on the bananas. You would think they'd be able to preserve some of the plants somehow. I also heard that they're going to weaken the protections on endangered species and I'm not happy about that.
The condo where my aunt lives has a clubhouse, so we'll probably use that for the birthday party. We offered to do a trip instead or a fancier location, but DM seems to want to do the clubhouse. I think part of it is that she wants to invite some friends from where we used to live and NSB would be a lot easier for them. She does keep busy and as my DS put it, she keeps all of us hopping. DM has a salad with EVOO on it for lunch on most days, so it can't be all bad. It's thundering and pouring here again and I don't think the front has even gotten here yet.
Karen, I didn't even notice the Thursday in the title, lol. I agree Chele's dinner sounds good. I remember being uncomfortably hot in school in August and September and then again in June. In junior high, the only air conditioned room was the band room and it used to feel so wonderful to walk in there. The older schools were built differently with a lot of big windows on both sides of the classrooms. That helped, but it was still hot. It's nice that you have state parks in the area as well as the national park. Good luck with the fair entries.
Linda, that sounds like quite a nightmare. Congrats on the loss!
Waving to Liz and Becky.

You all have great avatar pics...
Liz, feel free to talk here. Everyone needs a safe outlet and your plate has way too much on it!
Do not understand why Iggy has to go in with all that overtime, let alone without help.
Karen, never heard sweet potato banana bread!
No skin cancer... Dermatologist says two things cause hives of any sort: immediate allergic reaction or underlying infection,,,bacterial overgrowth..(.and nobody is sure about dermagraphy). Since I am slowly going more days between Zyrtec, and it goes hand in hand with how my gut is doing (after three kinds of antibiotics and two anti yeast meds) and what I am eating, it is probably bacterial imbalance in gut. I stopped improving while I went on a candy, carb, and dessert period of four weeks. He says sugar feeds the wrong bacteria. So I am stepping uo the probiotics and. right food to encourage gut recovery again.
He also said my skin is so dry it would itch anyway...well duh with the antihistamine. My dry eye hates it. Hope to go at least 3.5 days till next dose.
Rewarded myself with retail therapy...Bed Bath had a nice expandable wooden drawer divider for the gadgets and knives drawer, a glass water pitcher with Bib's favorite lid, a room darkening liner for bedroom drapes, and a couple other things. They took my expired coupons for $ off! $15, $10, and $5! So I spent that plus two $ at the major clearance sale at Talbots for two tops! Then I used the $10 gift card expiring today at Sur La Table for a new melamine dish for Doggie and some prep bowls..$.90. By then car said 109 in the shade.
Stopped at the nearby high end grocery store for Bob's cheese , vidalia onion relish , and shrimp and succumbed to pizza. We shared a slice at home. I am so ready to sit!

Thanks for the start Chele.
Linda What a nightmare. No wonder you woke up with a headache.Yea on the good dermatology checkup.Congrats on your loss.
Chele Everytime I tried calling Dish the wait time was so long I ended up talking to the chat person online both times so no it's not just because we live out here.I was calling the tech line so evidently there are a lot of problems everywhere. At first they weren't going to be here until 8/25 but they had a late appointment on 8/23.It's not going to be convenient for Kenneth at that time of day but I didn't really want to wait from 8-12 on Sunday. As long as they don't come on 8/24 since that's my birthday.I am not sure if I'm going to use the gym or not with my knees the way they are but I do get the new insurance on Sept 1.
Karen No rain in the metro area yet but aren't expected to get more than 1/10 if that. It's cooler in North and West TX but we got up to 101 and have been in a heat advisory for almost a week now.
Kathy I'm glad you didn't get picked for jury duty but still made $15.
Liz Please don't stay away.We are here for you to vent.
We are going to Taylor tomorrow. They have an event center(I have never heard of it and am not real sure exactly where it is although I know the street name.Anyway they have a WW studio in the event center.Yesterday I called for my LT number and if we can find it tomorrow I will be going once a month just for the free etools.I didn't think of it when I called them but the last time I went to a Bastrop meeting it was the summer before freestyle started so I will probably stay for the meeting the first time and may just go WI once a month.I didn't even know Taylor had started up another meeting place. The last time they had one was when I was in my 20's and that was when I first made LT long before WW online was ever thought of.
