WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C101D1 - another binge - a bad one. I was actually eating things so as not to have them in the house. Moronic or what?? This is a new day, fresh with no mistakes in it. Back to counting calories and points and I think I'll post steps even when unimpressive, just to remain accountable and maybe it will serve as an incentive.

27 points 1969 calories 23 APs
Stats include five donut holes eaten sometime during the night <insert head smack emoji here>. We have a corn roast at a good friend’s house later today, so today will be untracked. I’m thrilled that I can do this on the weekends now without guilt. I’m leaner than I’ve been in years.
Lori, thanks for the perspective on weight. What part of Texas are they in? We have a Top Golf opening soon. I’ve heard it’s a lot of fun.
Nancy, in all fairness, some of those tops are years old. I look for workout wear everywhere I go. I own very few street clothes, and virtually no dress clothes. InBody gives total water weight, bone/muscle mass, and fat mass. It also calculates BMI, basal metabolic rate, and the weight of each limb. My last scan was 2/24/18, which was also the last time I weighed myself. Looking at my printout, I will definitely do a scan on Thursday. I hope the workshop is inspiring for you today. Not only is this a fresh day, it’s also a fresh week for you. I know you’ll be back on the beam today.
Louise, I hope you can get back into skating soon. Nice job meeting your activity goal.

And Nancy, I, too, have eaten things just to get them out of the house. I know. It makes no sense.

Friday's Stats: SP 28 AP 3 Steps 5045 WP 26 remaining Water 54
I had two Milky Way Fun Size bars which were 9 SP and a half banana in the evening. Later than I normally eat although I've never had a hard kitchen closed rule. I weighed myself this AM before going to the Workshop and it was 140.2 so I was a bit uncertain when I got to the WI scale.
Happy to say I AM NOW BACK IN THE LT FREE ZONE!!! The weight was 140.8 I also got my 10# off charm (actually at 12# off). As for steps this past week's total was 45885 for 26 APs.
Nancy and Jan-I don't think I've ever had enough in the house to really do a "so as not to have them in the house" binge. With just DM and me in the house that's probably a bit easier to say. Then again I am dealing with all the snacks in the house. Recently she's been taking more of the "snack"things so that's a positive because the haven't been going in me. She thinks they have though.
Jan-I just checked on the skating lesson times and there is a session starting Sep 12. I'm going to look for public sessions between now and then and see if my coach would be available for a private lesson at one of those. I'd like to have somebody with me on my first session back on the ice. I can skate at the rink I took lessons at last summer Mon. through Sat. but there's no lessons or coaching allowed on those sessions. The Wed. session is specifically for adults.

Texas dinners meals have been a little challenging, not the best choices but eating mindfully, sticking with taking 1/2 home and staying away from the sugar treats. My back as been very sore (not the most comfy bed) plus the afternoon heat, not getting as much steps as usual..but having wonderful family time!
Nancy, I know what you mean, “let me just eat it all, so there is no more temptation” - makes no sense, but doesn’t stop us when we’re in that mindset....counting calories, if if it’s just a few days, will help reset the mind!!! Jan, were in Fort Worth area. Top Golf is a lot of fun, not too expensive and no skill required....today, we’re going to try bowling (just hope my back can take it). I love that the Inbody gives you so much information...not just a number... Louise, Congratulations on FREE Lifetime!! Well done!!!

Up 4.2 over the two weeks. No surprise. I was expecting worse. Back on the beam today. I did a little soul searching at the meeting. The house wasn't filled with normal groceries and the cold stopped me from cavorting with friends and from the activities and from exercising. That, along with the unexpected stop at McDonalds helps to explain. At the end, a bit of the Last Supper syndrome kicked in.
Jan - So it will be an 18 month weight loss. Can't wait to hear.
Louise - Yea for the free zone!! It's wonderful, too, that you'll be back skating. So your average steps for the week = 6555. Let's both try to beat that this week.
Lori - My upcoming meeting with you should provide some added incentive. I don't want to be moaning and groaning about my lack of discipline. 5 weeks to get my act together <g>. I'm glad you're having such a lovely time with the family. Coming home tomorrow?

Nancy-I'm on for that challenge. My total will be low for today though as I didn't get out for the additional 10 minutes after her afternoon walk.
Added to say after the 20 minutes outside I came in and walked another seven or eight minutes ending up with 6673 steps. I'm currently at 6841.
