This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning everyone,
Susie - thanks for starting us off.
We also don't have much of a plan for today. We did want to get to the recycling center and drop off the ton of glass that we've been collecting. Other than that, absolutely no other firm plans or even ideas. Maybe we just need to get some coffee in us to get the brain juices flowing. Haha.
I'm sure I'll pop back in at some point.
RobinMD - I almost forgot....I did some research last night and the Nina and Pinta travel together as a sailing museum, with a purpose of educating people how those type vessels were made. They are sponsored by The Columbus Foundation which is apparently 100% funded by private donations. The article I read also said that these two replicas were built using the same tools and processes that were used to build the originals - so zero power tools or modern conveniences used to produce them. Apparently Archaeology Magazine called the Pinta "the most historically correct Columbus replica ever built". .Anyway, I thought it was all kind of interesting.
Have a great Saturday!

Hi Everyone, I am getting my haircut today this morning and am planning to go food shopping nearby in the same center. I need to pick up my prescriptions too but that is in a different center but not so close so trying to figure how to get from one to the other without too much stress as there doesnt seem to be such a direct way to go from one to the other easily. I was originally thinking of going to the pharmacy first because I wont have to carry any packages to the other one other than my prescriptions but then would have to walk a distance from where the bus stops but I might do it as it isnt that far and logistically makes the most sense. I think that there is another bus that will get me to the other center but the timing wont work but maybe will take it back if it works out as I wont have a time pressure and can then make a connection nearby. When I get home and after I put my things away plan to chillax and start my one of my new books. I am glad that I went to the library yesterday as I think it would have just been too much to go after doing all this. Tommorow we are going up to the pool where I was a few weeks ago but it is a club activity tho. It seems like we will be having a pretty good turnout if everyone who says they are coming come.. There is a chance of thunderstorms tho. It seems like almost everytime we plan this we have had thunderstorms. Last year we had to reschedule it to another date. RobinMd, my primary is like that as far as patients who have had the opportunity to meet her scheduling her and she is only there once a week. Since she has been my primary doctor since college and she really listens I will continue to see her until she retires. I ususally schedule for another visit before leaving the office. Have a great day!!

Got most everything I needed but the change. I debated about getting off the bus on the way but didnt get off. I had two full bags of groceries to carry so and didnt see how I could carry anymore so skipped going over to Target. Since the other Target is our meeting place for the trip tommorow I will probably stop in and get a few things when I get back or may even run in beforehand because most of the items are non-perishable. I just will have to remember to take them out of whoever I ride with. I liked the lady who cut my hair better today better than the other lady who cut it when I couldnt get my usual person to cut it. It was somewhat awkward with the other lady as she didnt talk much or even have a simple conversation. I would definitely ask for this person who did it today to do it again if my regular lady isnt available which seems to be not too frequently. Just going to chill and start reading one of my books. Cassie is all relaxed sleeping on my lap for the moment tho. My love bug. 😀

Good afternoon from Colorado. I had the world's worst trip getting here, I mean the absolute worst. First of all my flight was delayed 3 hours. Then I missed my connection in Detroit, of course. Delta put me up in a swanky Radisson but 40 minutes from the airport and managed to give me only a one way voucher for the transportation so I was out $81 when I got back to the airport. Then I had to pay a second baggage fee since I didn't check my bag through to CO, wanted it in Detroit. And then Detroit had a power outage so I had to wait an hour and a half on line to drop off my bag, which couldn't get on the conveyor belt because it was still not working due to the power issue. The final straw was that I ran for my flight, made it, but my suitcase of course didn't. It's supposed to be delivered tonight. I sure hope so... I will call Delta to get my money back for the taxi and the baggage check, just don't have the strength for it now.
Can you believe this??? I'm too old for this, I swear.
It's wonderful being with the DGDs though. DD went to work for a few hours and I spoiled the kids rotten. Both are now napping so I even have a few minutes of quiet. The house is absolutely trashed, however. I'll have to deal with it when DD gets home.
I'm pretty tired... I got up at 5:30 NY time to get to the plane, which is only 3:30 here, so how I will keep my eyes open this evening I have no idea.
Janet, I know just what you mean about changing hair cutters in the same salon. I've done it before but it's definitely uncomfortable although the stylists have assured me it's fine.
Susie, hope you got to the gym. Enjoy your day with no plans! Wow, I can't remember the last time you had one of these!
Lora, so interesting about the Nina and the Pinta. We have a sailing ship that goes up and down the Hudson modeled on the old schooners. They were supported by Pete Seeger when he was alive to encourage the clean-up of the Hudson. I've sailed on 2 of the 3 ships and it's so much fun, although last time I went, with DF (who loved sailing), some jerk insisted on playing a wooden flute for much of the time and he wasn't very good. I think I asked him to give us a break at some point and I know I hurt his feelings. I'd definitely shell out the 8 bucks for a sail, or maybe it cost that just to tour the ships?
Wow it's quiet here. I've already changed a poop in addition to snacks and trashing the house so it's been busy.

Andi, sorry that getting there was such an ordeal. I hope that getting home will be easier. That reminds me of one trip to Isreal for my niece's wedding. I had two suitcases and I had my clothes, dress and shoes in the larger suitcase. When we got there I couldnt find my suitcases. I know the large one somehow got on the next flight. I dont remember for sure about the smaller one. I think maybe I had that one but my dress was definitely in the big one. We thought we were going to have to get another dress but my brother in law got a call after Shabbat saying that the suitcase was going to be dropped off at this hotel in Jerusalem. My brother in law was going there anyway to drop off some friends back at the hotel so picked my suitcase up.
