Strong winds and torrential rain just hit our area. Power out. Candles lit. R is starting the generator to power the sump pump. Argh.....

It's still hot and humid. Came home from a short walk, showered and I'm happily jammified.
Sweet dreams.

Bee Thx! I had to use my phone & couldn't recall my password for Geminigrl. JUneBug is my family nickname. My twin was called JoanBone. Why? My mom did not know that she was having twins until three weeks before she delivered. She already had 3 small children 41/2 years old & under. She was too surprised & tired to dream up middle names.
Power just came back about 10 minutes. Thx goodness!!!!!
May the FORCE be with you as you are willing & aware.
Becky Happy hunting in the meat and produce sections. Gotta tell ya-- my $1.99 watermelon from Aldi's was red, ripe, and sweet. Perfection! Hope that you get some relief from the heat & knee pain.
Ann Yep. . . The more the merrier inthe willing and aware club. Hopethat your testing process goes well. That's thoughtful of Donna to keep you company.

June, I hope your power returns. I will join the willing and aware club. The tour yesterday was at Sunsweet not Sun Maid, my mistake. They dry all the prunes aka French dried plums in 30 days, operating 24/7. It was fascinating. Because of our cool spring, they started last Wednesday. It was 108 and 26 of 100 workers quit. The man in charge who spoke to us has been there 34 years so he knows how to find more people but it is hard to train them on the job. Dinner was great too. There were prunes in every course. Today I have a medical review with the IPA that is a contractor for Health Net. I resent doing it but I’ll get a $50 Target card. I see my doctor twice a year and that should be enough I want to finish the thank you notes today dinner is Skinnytaste chicken cacciatore. Happy Monday.

Talked to children and grandchildren last night. Always nice to see their faces and hear their voices. Finished a book or two and wrote and posted the reviews. Today's book is to be looked forward to. The first in the series was different and I am hopeful this one will be similar and thus different and well worth reading. I need to soak some beans for this week. Not sure what kind. Last week we had a variety with some frozen garbanzo and some red...perhaps this week it will be broad beans.
I am willing to:
* hydrate * have a vegan day (Mondays are supposed to be...today will be) * choose wisely
JUNE: Hope that it is not too hot and humid AND that there are no mosquitoes! I am hoping your middle name is not "bug" and your sister's is not "bone" Too funny about the names and your mom being too tired to come up with middle names. Should have given you just an initial and let you decide what it would be later...or not. It was interesting to read about how people read books...and that we all differ.
BEE: Reading twins indeed! I like to see if I am going to enjoy the book and know what happens and who did it BEFORE and then see if the author did a good job or not getting to the end. I made a deal with myself NOT to write spoilers in my reviews. I tell why I like the characters or story or writing or what I don't like but don't give the plot away. I figure the author took time to keep the suspense going...why ruin it. I can ruin it for myself by reading ahead but won't do so in my spoilers. One of my friends would tell me NOT to tell her what happened in Game of Thrones if I saw it before her. I couldn't care less and would ask her what was happening once I stopped watching it.
BECKY: I hope you made it to the grocery store for the basics you need. Stay cool as you can!
ANN: I stay in nightgown or pajamas unless I have to go out and about. I keep thinking I might need a new dress or shirt but mine seem to last forever - they don't get worn much but do need new "nightwear" from time to time I love the idea of rainbow sparkly fingernails! My feet are ticklish SO having a pedicure is interesting sometimes.
AUDREY: Your dinner sounds yummy! Sorry about the additional unnecessary health check...
MJ: That was a LONG day of chopping lilac bushes! Did you take them completely out or just cut them back to reach the larger project?
PAM: I should clean t he shelves in the frig but they are so covered with figs and other produce it is not possible without putting everything on the floor or counters!
SUSI: Your fresh produce sounds yummy! I remember seeing people (in Washington State?) hunting for clams with long funny looking shovels, buckets and searching the sand for bubbles in the sand. Hope you enjoyed dinner!
LADONNA: Your evening and food choices sound perfect...as does your plan for the day.

Audrey Interesting tour. Chicken cacciatore for dinner-- yummy variation. Those hoops to jump are annoying. Whatever the problem was, a line crew fixed it within 2 1/2- 3 hours. 😀
Bee j Ha ha ha.. I use my maiden name or it's first letter. It gives my name more of a cadence. Cathy Ha ha ha.. viable outline for today's food "story"-- hope you arrive at a satisfying & happy OP ending. "Meatless Monday"-- makes me think of the voluntary food conversation WWI program initiated by the Food Administration. Or traditional wash day for women of my great grandmama's generation. She cooked a pot of beans b/c laundry was a long process. Comfy pjs for a work wardrobe. . . you could do a commercial for working from home. 😜 I use to do the suits, pumps, makeup, jewelry for school. Uhm... not any more.

Okey dokey First day parking is usually insane. Time to flat iron my mop, decide what to wear, and hit the road. Hope that my classroom keys work! Will be interesting to see how much disruption the automatically locking doors will cause. Doesn't seem like much of a deterrent to an active shooter... But at least my rooms this semester are not tactically vulnerable-- first room on first floor near an access point that is secluded or an easy, obvious entrance point to campus AND room interior is a virtual duck shoot. Sad state of society when some of my preplanning involves thinking about how to survive an active shooter crisis.

Good morning all. June happy to hear that you and R are 'up and runnin' It stinks when you lose power! Thanks for sharing the story of you and your twin. I can't even begin to imagine how 'busy' your DM was with all her children. Hope your first day back goes smoothly for you. I agree about the sad state of society! Praying for safety! Audrey at least you'll get a $50.00 gift card for your medical review. MMM to your dinner Cathy happy that you got to talk and see your family. I bet that is a real treat. Great goals. I shall try to pop in later....depending on my energy level. I didn't sleep that well last night, but that's par for the course worrying about the testing. Wishing AWF a wonderful and OP day

(((June))) sorry for you delay. I understand that talking to R trumps leaving early. Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers. You gals are the BEST I stress ate yesterday...to the tune of adding 1.1 Today we are treating Donna to a Chinese restaurant that she mentioned as wanting to try. It's right where we are going and it will be a nice surprise for her Not too healthy...and I'll more than likely have another gain tomorrow...but Wednesday is another day
Donna's mom and dad will be watching LuLa. We are so blessed to have all three in our life! They consider her (and us) family Take care, all.

Glad you got your power back June. That is sad that you have to think about access and egress from your class room. Have a good first day back. That must have been a surprise for your mom! Good morning Bee. That's a good plan Becky - Hope you don't need much Ann - Sorry you didn't sleep well. I'm sure your mind was racing. Maybe you can get in a nap today. I've had enough of the hot humid weather although it's not supposed to break until later this week. Audrey - Sounds like Sunsweet was a fun time. At least you get compensated for the review. Cathy - Glad you had some nice chat time with the children and grandchildren The lobster clambake was wonderful. My only minor complaint was that the ac was not really keeping up with the heat and humidity. I'm not sorry to be working in an air conditioned office today. My friends only eat the claws and tails of a lobster so I had a wonderful feast and leftovers for lobster rolls for 2 day.
