WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C101D4, 17 points, 4 rollovers, 8 water, 1200 calories, 33 weekly remaining, 3,369 steps
Got a lift to clubhouse but walked home. Expected nice long walk to and from shuffleboard but it was cancelled due to an unexpected rain storm. I did work on my line dances for a while. I completed the long-term project of reviewing all 56 dances, testing the music (picking and choosing the best), brushing up on steps where necessary, eliminating dances we don't really like, and editing the whole document of steps. A big accomplishment. It feels so good to be back on the beam with the eating.

Nancy, as I expected, youโre back on track with your eating. It does feel good, doesnโt it? Itโs just so much easier mentally when Iโm following my plan. Wow on the line dancing project! Iโm sure that feels good too.
Louise, great job on the steps!

Hi all. Have to go back and catch up. Hope everyone is well. It's been a busy summer and work is intense right now... I wish I could say it would be settling down, but fall is going to be busy too.
Will be checking in mornings going forward... Going to get on the elliptical trainer here at the hotel now.

Back to work today and catch up time! Yesterday was just a busy, long travel day. Stopped at food store on the way home to get some fresh produce and dairy. Then it was the usual post vacation stuff - unpack, laundry, mail, meal prep for week. I came to realize, I do not like having to work the next day...it works out much better when I have a day home to recoup before starting the work week...The only good thing is that it will be a short work week.
I feel good about my eating, would have liked more walking. I indulged in food choices but kept to mindful eating and portion sizes. The last night we went to a Great, upscale Steak House and I enjoyed every bite of a three course meal. I chose, salad wedge (just swapped out the blue cheese/dressing for a lemon vinaigrette) - 6oz filet mignon with mashed potatoes and a small, rich dessert (chocolate peanut butter pie). That was pretty much the only dessert I had. Yesterday at home I had a few extra treats but stayed in control. Today a MFP day to get back into routine.
Nancy, Glad to see your back on the beam!! I'm also looking forward to our get-together! Thanks for posting the yogurt fluff recipe - that's something I use to make and forgot about. It is a nice refreshing change! I did pack my Ipad and phone charges but never thought about the fitbit charger - lesson learned.
Jan, good then you noticed the tree damage now and not later.
Louise, nice stats!
Kathy, I'll look forward to seeing your morning post.

Jan - great stats. If only we could remember this feeling when we start to lose it.
Kathy - Looking forward to your morning check-ins. You've been missed.
Lori - Welcome back! Shopping for food on your way home was a good idea. I didn't have the opportunity which helps to explain my binges. Everything changed once I was able to stock my kitchen with fresh fruits and veggies, etc.
