Thinking Mistake #3 -- Overly Positive Fortune Telling
You predict the future too positively, without considering other possible outcomes.
"I'll be able to eat just a little bit of this food I crave, feel satisfied, and stop."
"It's okay if I just estimate the amount of food I'm supposed to have instead of measuring it. I'll still lose weight."
How do you handle overly positive fortune telling?

I do this when I overeat. I somehow think the calories won't count. The truth is my body does follow the laws of the physical world and the calories do count and I end up upset over the weight gain.

I think I did this more at goal or near goal weight. Now I KNOW what will happen if I eat or drink whatever it is but do so anyway.

I sometimes do this when I take samples at Costco or Whole Foods...it doesn't count, it's so small, it wont show up on the scale...or my ass...
