Kathy, does DN start grad school next week? Is he excited? Will he be with some of his friends from undergrad who are also going on? Will he be going full time? How long will it take him to finish? Did you get the software installed for the mp3 conversion of your vinyl? How's the tropical blob doing? They are saying we could have some rain over the weekend and 70% chance on Monday, but I don't know where it's coming from.
Did Iggy enjoy last night's leftovers, Chele? Is he still feeling good? What has he eliminated so far besides mayo? Is he following the FODMAP directions? Any weekend plans?
Becky, it's great that you no longer have to worry about Scooter trying to follow you out the gate. Are your temps supposed to cool a few degrees today and going forward? Did you set any kind of record for 100+ days? What kind of plans do you have for your birthday tomorrow?
Have the drugs kicked in yet, Linda? I'm having one of those zombie days but can't blame it on anything specific. I know Micki is happy for things to be back to normal. Is Habit Burger a local place? You had a healthy dinner last night with the substitutions. What's on tonight's menu? I saw a friend at the fairgrounds yesterday that I hadn't seen since March and he's lost 45 lbs and looks great. I didn't get a chance to ask him how he did it, but I'll see him next week so maybe I can find out then.
Liz sends her regards and said she will try to check in later. Today is a virtual commute for her but she is extremely busy nonetheless.
I am so tired today that I can barely hold my head up. Not sure why. I did my a.m. yoga and will Vibe at some point, but nothing else planned. I did manage to change the bed and wash the linens and bedspread, vacuumed, and there is a loaf of bread in the machine for Dale. That may be the extent of my activity today. We had some pretty strong storms yesterday evening that dumped an inch of rain in a short period of time and upset poor Arya to no end. She was really upset by the lightning and thunder, but especially the wind. We had gusts up to 24 mph and my turtle topiary and a large pot of basils blew over, which hasn't happened before. It was still a little stormy when we went to bed, but she laid at the foot of the bed for a while to make sure the storms were really and truly over. Dale got up early to go to an estate sale that started at 7 am (most of the ones around here don't start until at least 8 and sometimes 10). My little furry alarm clock went off about 5:45, so no extra sleep for me. Maybe tomorrow. Dale is out on the kayak. I didn't have the energy. I got a text yesterday from one of the pool crowd yesterday and the community center is now with Silver Sneakers, so she wanted to let me know so I could come back. Thursdays are no longe an option with Osteo, but I am enjoying not having to be on a schedule for workouts and I don't miss the smell of chlorine. I'll check it out but I'm not very enthused.

Karen, maybe your body just needs a day off!
Woke early to sound of leaf blowers...will be glad when they switch to an hour later in cooler weather. Funny how we are always last on quiet stuff like deliveries and mail and early in noise.
Finally normal 104 today and for a few more before it goes to 110 a couple again. Any day here under 110 is good.
Bob is in the computer man cave in an hour long session of Norwegian.... He is a polyglot...taught mainly German, also some Spanish, Latin, and Russian. So he can do a little Slovak. He took college classes for Italian when he retired. Then He self-taught Dutch, Portuguese, French, Polish, and now Norwegian. Has dabbled with sign language, Canadian French, Hebrew, Chinese, Hawaiian, Japanese, Romanian, and Greek and more I do not remember.Bathroom reading in our house is decidedly weird, and internet has made it all a lot easier. When in Germany, he says he is from Arizona, and they ask, ābut when did you leave Germany!ā He has a natural ear for the right accent.
I am lucky to get the little German I know right with right accent.
Micki was thrilled to get a real walk this morning and get in the bed with me for coffee and petting. He is now in his morning nap mode.
No plans, but need to get to grocery store. I should change bedding, clean up the pantry and more no ambition. The lower misery is not too bad days, but seems to get worse evenings until around 1 AM.Still improved though.Wondering if seven days of Keflex will do the job.

Karen, the window box looks great. Grad school starts next week. Not sure if excited is the right word since it's the end to DN's summer vacation, lol. He is excited about the program though. It will probably take 1 1/2 to 2 years depending on how much he works. No to the software. I haven't even looked at it yet. The blob is moving up the east coast, but it is mainly offshore. We'll get some rain from it if it stays on the current path, but not much else. We're getting some weak bands from it now. I agree with Linda that taking a day off would help. I know I get a burned out feeling if I don't take some time off once in awhile. Getting away is especially helpful, although I know you probably can't do that with Arya. Maybe a staycation? Fall will be here before too long. You have a lot of nice places around you for just some nice drives or short hikes to see some of the fall colors. Yes, I'm jealous of that! Linda, same here. I've been woken up by mowers, leaf blowers, and roofers quite a few times, but the deliveries and mail are much later in the day. The very noisy trash pickup comes right around 6am too. Glad you're a little cooler, although I wouldn't call 104 cool. We're supposed to have highs right around 90 for the next few days due to the tropical weather. That's a lot of languages for Bob! I took a bit of Spanish, but didn't really keep up with it. My teacher told me that I didn't have much of an accent and she was Cuban. Most of the Spanish speakers around here are Puerto Rican, so I guess if I spoke Spanish to them, I would sound Cuban. Glad to hear Micki is doing so well and glad you're improving.
Waving to all. Have a great Friday!

Karen Thanks for the start.
Chele Thanks for the happy birthday eve wishes.
Karen It is nice that Scooter has decided to not try to dart out any more. That was mostly when it was cold and now that it's hot she stays under the porch while we are gone and she knows she will get to spend all afternoon in the house.I think she expects it now because we go somewhere just about every day.No real cool off here unless we get pop up showers which I doubt. It's not supposed to make it to the mid 100's but around 100 every day until Labor Day then we might get some rain cooled air. It's 98 at 3:00 with high humidity so it already feels well over 100.We have had 18 consecutive days of 100 plus and I think that may tie a record from 1925(the year my mom was born and she wasn't born until Dec of that year)but in 2011 we had a total of 90 days with 100 plus degree days. They just weren't consecutive days.I am tired too. It's odd when I was using the Garmin I usually got around 7 hrs sleep.Since I have used the Fitbit Inspire HR I have only gotten a little over 4 hrs both nights.I did stay up later last night and still woke up around 4:00 so I'm sure that one was accurate. It's probably a combination of that and the heat.Scooter is also easily frightened by thunder so I can imagine how upset poor Arya was.We will eat out for lunch tomorrow.Right now I'm thinking about the buffet but I may come up with somewhere different.
Linda I'm glad Micki is doing better.

Becky, enjoy your birthday lunch. I hate to gloat but we didnāt even make it to 80Ā° today. Pets do like a routine, donāt they? I donāt blame Scooter for being afraid of thunder. Karen, thanks for the start. Iggy liked his leftovers. Poor Arya. Thunder and lightening are scary. You said you were tired and then I laughed when you list the things you had done. You must be a whirling dervish on a daily basis. I donāt blame you for not being thrilled about going back to WA. You seemed to have more body pain after that than your other activities. Congratulations on your improvement at Osteo. I love the window box. The decorations give it a nice touch. I echo everyone else in that you might meed a break from the daily routine. Any plans to go to Alabama? How are DB and fam doing? Iggy has eliminated all deep fried foods along with any kind of bagged chips. It seems that anything but olive oil is upsetting to him. Also red pepper flakes like the kind you find in Thai food. He can eat other spicy food and no problem. Bananas also bother him. Linda mentioned bananas the other day and it reminded me that Iggy canāt eat them. Kathy, I saw that the blob was moving north if you on the weather coverage this morning. Iggy remarked this afternoon that fall was coming, because we are seeing flocks of birds flying in formation. That usually means they are headed south. I tried out my Spanish once on a call to Mexico. The woman shouted āGringa on da phone.ā Guess I donāt have the accent down. I did a summer in France during college and my French was understandable but they knew I was American. Linda, I envy people who can pick up accents easily. I worked hard to get rid of my Bronx accent and Bronxisms, but it comes out when I am angry. I hope you only need one round of antibiotics, since it messes up your system so much. I am glad you are feeling a little better. I am sure having Micki back to normal is a relief for all of you and I bet he doesnāt mind having his bath postponed. I bet the neighbors are glad to see him on his rounds once again. Iggy had his half day today, so we went to his favorite Chinese place for lunch. It is right around the corner from Dorothy Lane Market so we picked up sushi for dinner. Tomorrow we are planning on going to Second Street Market and then Springfield and Yellow Springs.

Chele, lol on the gringa comment! I worked with a woman from Puerto Rico and she said when she went to Mexico as soon as she said anything, they said "turista". She wasn't expecting that since Spanish was her first language. We had summer programs in Florence and London, but not in my major. That must've been a lot of fun to live in France for the summer. Enjoy your day out tomorrow. Sounds like the temps are getting nicer there.

Chele You go ahead and gloat all you want.I will gloat in fall/winter when you are covered in snow and it's still in the 60's to 70's here.LOL.Actually we had a light shower of rain and it cooled off from 100 to 80. It's just now back up to 83.Scooter was so funny because we had a big clap of thunder and we haven't had any rain in at least 6 weeks so I guess she forgot what it sounded like because she ran to the front door and barked. We aren't expecting much rain. They are from a seabreeze disturbance.I forgot how good rain smelled.Have fun on your outing tomorrow.
