MONDAY MINDSET..... Weekend is OVER... time to reset - your - mindset!! Today is coffee, and water, and tea... then a protein bar/shake, then I will have cucumber slices for a snack - and a salad with tuns for lunch. For afternoon - if needed - I have almonds and seltzer. Tracy is making a Fiesta Mexican Zucchini something for supper tonight! So there is MY Monday (Reset) Mindset!
So considering it was "the fair" 50% might be called Good! 100 oz of water/liquid ❌
5 F/V ✔️ Loved my full size Taco Salad No sugar ❌ had a soft serve ice cream No flour ✔️ Journal ❌
No eating after 7 PM!✔️ I did take my glass of wine to the hot tub when we got home - but it wasn't food! LOL
Oh and WALKING - didn't register on my Fitbit very well - I think we were "wandering" too slowly for it to "count"!
UGH... did make my 6k steps but MAN I was on my feet All.Day.Long. - where were all those steps!??!
OK Going to try to catch up with my coffee ♥

Sue: LOL I think I could have slept in today - if not for work! LOL I considered calling out... I have 2 unscheduled days to use - and Crystal wants us to schedule them ASAP, but with no "sick" time left I will NOT schedule mine way in advance... I will most likely schedule 1 more in December for Christmas Shopping Day - but will use my one last as a "call out" day. I will do it responsibly - unless I truly am "sick" I will not call out when I know someone else is out. Anyway... I only have a 4 day week this week - out on Friday "just because"!
Ah, yes, apparently Saturday evening they had "a time" with the 5 year old! LOL Eden was "restless" watching the racing...so GLAD I chose not to go! Zoë & I had a quiet evening at home - just what we both needed!
Oh Sue - the line at self checkout was horrendous too - and we had 2 wagons.... I too had my stuff organized for bagging - the poor cashier was probably glad we were her last customers before "break"! LOL I swear I have not spent THAT MUCH at Wal-Mart in my life, unless it is Christmas! WOW! I was shocked at the total! LOL But then again it was a lot of paper and laundry supplies... all ran out at the same time...at least by going to NH I save the taxes! WHEW!!
WELL! The Dr/PA told me to use a "rigid heel cup" in my shoes.... and/or an Arch Support. Saturday I chose to wear sneakers... more support all that crap... prefer my flip flops - thought I was doing myself a favor... wore the new heel cups I got... NOT doing that again! OUCH! It was fine while shopping and walking - but MAN as soon ass I took them off my foot was killing me!!! Yesterday I chose to wear my sneakers (again a lot of walking) but used my arch supports instead - MUCH BETTER! Not "great" but better today!
Will you get any "perks" from having Shea at SW?? Or are those reserved for immediate family only? I will have to pay attention as I board my flights from now on! LOL Wouldn't he LOVE it if I saw him and said Hey it's Shea - Sue's DSIL! LOL
UGH we are 45 outside NOW... and a whopping 58 in here! LOL I shut most windows and doors( downstairs) but forgot a couple... good thing we turn our thermostats back to 50 these days! Ya, tell me about it - this is NOT late summer... I even wore my sweatshirt most of yesterday at the fair! Cool breeze - so my sleeveless shirt was NOT good. Few times I took the sweatshirt off to feel the warm sun... but MAN... all the years we were in the kitchen it was not a cool weekend!! Bring your sweatshirts to CT this weekend!
LOL Wellllll..... IF the time comes to redistribute some of my work load - it will certainly be "The Test" to see if Crystal makes the cut! LOL Remember, when Neige and Ken both sought "change" within the department - if Kaitlin didn't like it - if she went crying to Amanda and Josh... Neige and Ken were let go!! This could be third strike and we are out!
As much as I do NOT care for Crystal being our boss - IF anything happens... I do believe Deb & I will be in the VPs office to share our thoughts... on the "friendship" of Kaitlin - Amanda - Josh... it is just all too "coincidental" that they got let go - or shifted jobs - just as they were trying to make changes to Ms Queen Bee's daily tasks! Anyway - thank you 0 yes, it will be interesting to see how it all effects my day... oh the 1 machine that was going in tomorrow has been pushed out... maybe next week...

Good Morning ~ had a good day yesterday - finished all my groceries, Walmart, laundry and organizing for the week - will make Turkey burgers on grill for dinner tonight - planning on a Roast beef for later in week (easier to do in crockpot) so thank you everyone for that great idea! lol
Was very tired still from Fri and Sat - maybe more emotionally drained then anything? - was going to visit my DM yesterday then opted to take a nap instead! lol
Odd feel to the bright sun outside - it's hot in the sun but feel cool in shade - late summer always feels different -
Today the Teachers all return. Inservice Day is today and lunch will be served. I'm planning on the salad and fruits - will pack some of my own just in case that is not what's served (last minute changes - like if they order Pizza instead - ugh!)...still packing water bottles each day as our drinking fountains/water flow is not reliable yet from all the construction. I did see Brita filters installed in each new drinking fountain!!! Hooray! Can't wait to just fill my own water bottle to save from carrying in bottle every day - it is a FAR walk from the parking lot into the building up the stairs - there is an elevator but it's a cargo one and the construction crews were always using it so I lug my water up the stairs daily - not complaining but it will be nice not to have to do that -
Hope everyone gets their Mindset ready for this week!

LOL My "weakness: is the french fries and batter dipped onion rings... but I shared my fries, and never got the onion rings! There is always the Big E - I'll probably have them there! I remember making funnel cakes in HS Home Ec... they were good! Not pumpkin - EWWW I am the no-pumpkin person here!
Yeah - I am sure IF I did the exercises more regularly - they wouldn't off-set each other... any stretching should be good for most of my "parts" right?? Just need to DO IT! Yeah - I will stick to my arch supports from here on out!
Hope you got your blanket and wrapping done yesterday - glad you had a day to kind of relax and regroup... not a lot of cooking/planning surely helps!
Christine: UGH That's why I didn't post Saturday morning - no internet... had to reset the router - very annoying, and frustrating...
Oh YAY the "grand gala"... LOL Yes leave DH home - easier on both your stress levels! So was it just as "Grand" as you expected???
WOW! 50 out of 200, not great odds for DLs last hurrah! OK LOL Yeah, had to LOL over no applause! How awkward - for the speech"readers" too I'd imagine!! OY VEY!! Funny though - the board members themselves KNOW what's happening and do nothing about it? I would have thought they would have been applauding for themselves - for making DL what she is today - if for no one else!!! UGH HOW DO you stand it???
Yes 1st thing in the morning - or after sitting for long periods of time, it is At.It's.Worst. Yikes... a cast? That would have thrown me for a loop - sorry DN has been going through this!! The exercises are simple calf and foot stretches... nothing "heroic", I just fail to do them regularly... you'd think this much pain would serve as a reminder... Geeze what is WRONG with me??
Ahhh, can you imagine if we had retired at 55?? Oh well... not meant to be... BUT... I will have my 25 years in at the bank in 2023... my plan for staying until 2024 means even though it is only 3 months of "Work" it adds a year to my retirement! LOL I started in October, and last I knew - from my retirement seminar - the pension goes by calendar year not based on when in the year we were hired... Then by staying until January - I may as well stay until March - to get my profit sharing... it is handed out in February - but if you leave before it comes out - you do not get it... I am not passing up a BONUS 2 Weeks Pay.! LOL
That would bring me to about 65 1/2, so I am aiming for May 3, 2024! Will be figuring out if I can draw off the pension to start with and not hit SS for another year... we'll see... hopefully... gotta find a finance person to talk with - other than the guy at the bank! He has been good to go to through the years but now - I think I want someone NOT affiliated with the bank! Sorry - got off on a rambling tangent there... just the mention of retirement - gets my mind racing! LOL

Gabrielle: This is my own fault... I saw the PA at the Spine & Sport place... but for "follow up" I need my PCP... she has been out on vacation - and I prefer to see HER not just anyone on her "team"... so I put off my appointment until the first week in September. I have several things I want to discuss with her - so waiting seemed the easiest... Saturday/Sunday were the worse I have had this pain! No more heel cups for me! I know she will want me to go to PT... I'd prefer not to go that route - since it takes time and $$ that I prefer not to spend - on exercises I won't do... SO I need to get my act together this week - and work on those exercises... I know it's all my own doing - that it hasn't cleared up yet!
Out of town again, huh?? Enjoy the trip back home today - safe travels... ♥
Sue: Ugh... I do NOT like Yankee Swaps... but sounds like your DC family will enjoy and make it a fun "Event"!
Well sure sounds like your trip will be a fun filled one! With the kiddos around - it sure won't be a quiet weekend for sure! LOL
Glad you got the blanket done for the baby...
WE do shredded chicken in our tacos most often now... somedays ya' just gotta have the ground beef - but yesterday at the fair chicken was offered!

Mornin' Christine: LOL I also got a roast to be in the crock pot later this week. Also trying to gauge our "leftovers' so we don't have too many as we leave Saturday for the two nights!
YAY for opting for a nap yesterday - I am sure the emotions of the weekend were "draining" to say the least!
LOL I am the same way with my water/seltzer... carrying the 22 oz and the 32 oz are killing me! But I cannot rely on the break room cooler to HAVE seltzer - so I carry my own. Might get some 6 packs and see if Tracy will bring them to me... then I only have to carry them up the stairs... not from the parking lot - across the street and behind the buildings !UGH
Good luck with lunch today and the teacher "return"... hoping most of them have been in and out during the summer to see the new space? Hopefully DL stays far - far away from the whole In-service presentations -or whatever they do in In-Service days! LOL I know NOTHING about what you all do on those days!
OK Gotta get moving... DH is still in bed - hate that he has Mondays off! Gets me ever time! Oh well... he will be awake soon! LOL I need to get in our room to get dressed and dry my hair! He knows this - so he could have opted to sleep in the other room... if he wanted to sleep IN more!!
Keep your MONDAY MINDSET for the day ahead!!
♥hugs♥

Running through.....hit the snooze and extra time and then forgot I had to fill all my medicine cases....I have 2 one week travel cases and I fill them up so in the morning I don't have to open all the bottles on my 2 meds, vitamin, calcium, Vit D....took me longer than I anticipated because I had find and open new bottles of a couple! Sure glad my taco salad was packed last night so I just needed to add the tomato this morning. Time to dry my hair, get some clothes on and get out the door!
Have a great day....see you after work and a bunch of errands!

Good morning ladies!
Just finished with the TM as today will be driving to the meeting and then a lot of sitting. It is overnight so that we can all meet again tomorrow (teams from across the region) and we go to dinner tonight together. We do this once/year and it is a pretty place. I am lucky that it is only a 1.5 hour drive. Had a nice weekend! The party was fun Saturday night and met DS25 for lunch yesterday, got some things done around the house--feeling more on top of things now. Sorry to read about the cool weather other places (but kind of longing for it here)...still really hot here and not cooling down at night. I rely on my fan to stay cool. I just hope that we have a decent fall this year--last year's was about 3 weeks long. I LOVE fall!
Carole: I can see why you would wait to see the person that you like at the doctor's office--I get it! I hear you on the costs of PT too---they want you to go often, but insurance only covers so many. I feel like, once you know the exercises to do, it is time to go off on your own for a while. Glad that you were able to comfortably go around the fair and that you found the arch supports work the best. All you guys talking about retirement is making me really think about it more too. I have 30 years paid into the retirement system and plan to work for another 5 or so. I will have to cover insurance for a few years, but would actually LOVE to do something part time (not related to education) to pay for that...I could get used to that. I guess I really need to start envisioning it, huh? When you brought up Neige, I suddenly remembered how you have had a few bosses over the years and that is terrible if K. is the reason that they all have to move on! I hope that isn't true and that Crystal gets a chance with all of it. Hope that you have a good day--say, thinking about your foot exercises. Do you have a routine in the evening...a tv show that you watch or something? I used to do them while I watched the show and it helped create a routine for me. It was easy to do them while watching. Just hoping that you can get rid of that pain!

Sue: I had to look twice at your post when I saw the green and red--LOL. Thanks for sharing! You have such a great way of making things fun! Your love of the holidays comes through as well. So excited for you as you prepare for your weekend away...how fun to be around the kiddos too! I don't know that I would ever be so lucky as to have Shea be my pilot for a SW flight here on the west coast, but I will certainly pay more attention when they say their names. How is he doing at his program? Yum, canteloupe! Lucky you--we can get pretty good melons around here, but not the same as your fresh ones I am sure. So, the new thing that I got at Trader Joe's was a Green Goddess salad dressing--it is SO good. It is really low in calories and fat but has great flavor. I love looking for new things there too! Have a good day!
Christine: Hoping for a good day today--you aren't presenting are you? It's been so many years since I just ENJOYED a PD day....it would be a nice change. Wow, that is great that they have Brita filters! I love that we often see refilling stations -- kids bring their own bottles-- and the machine calculates how many plastic bottles were not used due to kids using their own bottles. It's just a nice, easy way for kids to know how they can make a difference. Hope that you have a good day today!
Hello to Lisa, Jenny, Shelly, and all who follow. I am mostly packed but need to get a move on. I know the place where we are going to dinner so will look at the menu ahead of time. The challenge will be staying on top of my water---sometimes I get distracted at these things! Hope that you all have a great day!

Good morning! Raining here. I had to take Joe to work because his car needs new wheel bearings and idler arm and 2 new front tires. Will need to take him tomorrow morning too. Not a problem..gets me up and around!
Carole-thanks for getting me into the Monday mindset! I am planning on getting some tomato basil marinated chicken breasts from the local meat and deli shop and I have some small red potato steamers that I need to use, so ta-da-dinner! Yes, please do not count on a banker as your financial planner person. We never talked to anyone before retirement which was probably a mistake but we hit the rapid retirement waters that we had to decide quickly and I think we could have made better decisions. And early retirement sounds good, but you do need to know what you are going to do with your time.
Christine-good job shopping and planning for the week. Hope the days goes well with the teachers back. Sometimes a nap is necessary, even if I don't sleep, I usually feel a bit more refreshed!
Sue-good job having the lunch ready to go because you never know what else is going to need done in the morning! Have a good day!
Gabrielle-good job getting your moves in on the TM before long drive to meeting. Sounds like you are in good shape retirement wise, and the good thing about part time work after retirement is that you have more choice in your work and hours. With your experience I am sure that you could even get some consulting jobs.
I need to get moving now that I am on my second cup of coffee. I need to take the 2 big boxes of TP back to Sam's club if they take it (the ones that my joker son got as a wedding gift for this sister and new BIL). Then it can be reordered and sent to Missouri, otherwise it will be a very belated wedding gift at Christmas.
I had a lead on an extra help job. Actually Greg took a lady to work on campus and she was saying how they needed extra help and couldn't get any. Well, I did get a call from the extra help office, but the duties relate to making travel reservations and paying bills, which the campus doesn't give extra help employees a travel credit card, but if a dept. had a way around that, I would so love to get some training and experience with this, but that is probably why I haven't got a call back yet if they are ok with training me and also me working part time. So maybe it's still being decided?
Gotta get going.. BBL.

Evening all....long CRAZY but productive day at work! Hoping tomorrow is less chaos! Both Julie and I had crazy things with Sherry's stuff....thankfully the vendors are all very helpful and it all got resolved....we both said "it always happens when she goes on vacation"! LOL!
Carole...looks like you had a great OP day at the fair....you knew that the green checks would be few but still you did great! LOL...you know you were moving all day, no worries about the Fitbit not registering....you are probably right about the wandering/strolling not being fast enough to count. Sounds like you have a great Monday planned and are "reset" for sure. I will say my weekend food/drink wasn't too bad....today was a great day, still not sure what I'm having for supper but had cottage cheese with a fresh peach for breakfast, taco salad for lunch w/o chips and cantaloupe and watermelon for snacks....wasn't hungry for a snack in the afternoon, actually still not hungry....my salad was very filling and I ate a little later than normal!
Carole....I don't blame you for wanting to hang on to those last 2 days since you have no "sick" time left. Love how you plan your call out or as I call them "mental health days", so that you don't do it when others are out. YAY for a 4 day week...I don't blame you for making it an extra long "long weekend"! I have a 4 day week this week and a 2 day week next week.
YIKES....I would not have done self check out with 2 carts either. You really did stock up but can't blame your for taking advantage of the NH "no tax" for all the taxable items....I know Hannah & Shea always stocked up when they lived in WA on the no tax weekends. Is NH always no tax or was this a "no tax" weekend like WA does a few times a year?? When Hannah was in NJ they taxed EVERYTHING including groceries but then they had no State tax.
Well Carole...glad the arch supports worked better than the heel cup. I'm thinking that it would have been better if you had used the arch supports both days. You'll have to see with a little more "experimentation" which is better in the long run. I know Dad only had the arch supports.
Hannah & Shea will always fly free on stand by...he also gets some "friends and family" points but for me, I'd rather they share them with Sarah's gang who needs the help more...they have 5 tickets to buy so it will help them more. We will never turn a free flight down but we can afford the airfare and it's only 2 of us.....Sarah's gang is 5 tickets and that's a "big chunk of change"!

LOL Carole....Shea would just laugh it off if you saw him and mentioned it! He's a good sport! Paul flies a lot for work and always flies SW...he's hoping that one day he flies and Shea is the pilot. He told me the other day that I need to tell Shea to "talk" to the passengers.....welcome them aboard, let them know that turbulence is OK and when the flight will be through it.....thank them for flying! He said that one of his biggest pet peeves is when the pilots don't come on to reassure the passengers when things are a little "bumpy".....I will make sure relay the message! LOL!
Yes Carole...I have my sweatshirt back on the bed to pack in the car....the days are supposed to be nice but will be cooler at night so I know if we are outside in the evening I will need it! Can't believe how cold it is for you.....it was 58° this morning but 70° in the house even with a few windows open. Right now it's 73° both in and out!
Never thought about Neige & Ken and how they tried to change things and that "didn't work out so well"! Yes, if something happens if and when Crystal tries to make changes then you and Deb definitely need to speak to the VP....WAY to coincidental. Kaitlin has been "babied" and catered to for WAY too long and the "friendship" should stay outside the work place. I know that Todd and Troy, the maintenance manager, are friends outside of work and spend lots of time together at the shore but I have heard Todd BLAST Troy at work.....that's how it should be....professional/personal should be separate!
Christine...YAY for getting all your "chores" done over the weekend! Turkey burgers sound yummy and YES....love a roast in the crockpot....I even take them out of the freezer and throw it in the crockpot, sprinkle a package or Lipton Onion Soup mix on the top and put it on low all day....the water from thawing plus the soup mix makes for a great gravy when it's done! LOL....yes, after the Gala and all the antics of DL you didn't need the drama of DM....good idea to take a nap! YAY for the filters on the water fountains and soon the drudgery of lugging water will be over! When do the students start???
FaceTime is ringing....gotta run!

Ugh!!!! I’ve missed the last few days and then today worked late and have been dozing in my recliner. Sever weather around Oklahoma City and that is all that is on the network tv. Wow I guess it’s pretty bad. They just gave a tornado warning ⚠️. I hope if it makes it to the ground it’s in a rural area. We need rain but I’m glad we are not having this weather. I’m still dealing with a little bit of tooth issue. I made some oregano/thyme capsules to get rid of the infection I must have going on in my jaw. It’s still bothering me some but getting better. So sorry I’ve been such a hit or miss here lately. Yesterday I had to mow after church. DH and I took dgk to Pizza Hut after church and it was not good. Took forever to get waited on took forever to get food/plates/ drinks ect.... anyway it was a day and today wasn’t any better.
I can’t stay awake so getting off here. I will try and check in tomorrow
