Happy Dog Day to all our doggie friends! I have been talking dogs all weekend and ascertained that Iggy is not ready for the extra responsibility. DN#2 had the baby at 4:27am. I am waiting for the call that it is OK to visit. Iggy is on his way to Louisville, so he will not see the baby until later. I got her a couple of onesies and matching hats. One has a dinosaur and the hat has ridges like you would see on a dinosaur’s spine. Too cute! I got DN a box of Esther Price caramels. I tried to think of something healthier but she does not go chocolate crazy, so I think she can handle these. Besides between her family and DH’s family they won’t last long enough for her to be too tempted. Have a good Monday, all. Liz, I hope the commute wasn’t too awful.

Good Afternoon Chicks and thanks for the start Karen. Becky - I also saw somewhere that it's National Dog day and agree with you 100% that my pups live that every day. I do love them so and thank goodness they are pretty well behaved! Wally still gets a bit riled up and his bark is something to behold but he is a terrific snuggler! I hope the weather gets a bit more temperate for you. We're being spoiled with autumn-like weather again today; low 53 this morning and a high of 74 in the city. Chele - congrats on the new baby in the family! Your gifts sound terrific and I am sure will be most appreciated. Dogs are indeed a large responsibility and sometimes I have to kick Gary in the posterior to remember to do certain things for them to keep them healthy! (He dislikes doing Zoe's ears but she won't let me near them). The commute was fine but costly as usual; darn cab ride ran $20 from Grand Central. What a racket! I look forward to hearing about the new little one! Linda - how is the knee today? It's amazing how one little twist the wrong way can set things off like that. The surgery is this Thursday the 29th. I will be in work again tomorrow and then working from home on Wed. waiting for them to call and let me know what time I need to be there. How is Micki doing now with the stitches out? I mentioned to Gary that keeping Wally from jumping on me once I get home might be a bit of a challenge. Kathy - how are the plans coming along for DM's party? I saw that blob you were mentioning that i believe is now called tropical depression Dorian? Hope your day is going well so far. Karen - WOW on all that cooking you did this weekend. That was an amazing amount of food to get cooked and put away! HUGS for missing Phoebe; I felt that way at the beginning of this month when I realized it was a year for Ralphie. I hope you got your breads and loaves where they needed to go today. I am trying to finish up some things here before my surgery and my boss stopped in to ask if I would consider telecommuting if possible while recuperating. So I will see if that is something I can work out. Need to run, the staff is here to see me. Have a safe and good day ladies! Ciao for now~

Chele, welcome, Baby Emma! The onsies with hats sound adorable. Hope you'll get to visit. Sorry Uncle Iggy will have to wait. How long will he be in Louisville? Are you getting rain today? We have a bunch coming that looks like it may be from a front also going your way. Sorry to hear that Iggy isn't ready to add a new family member. You're right that a dog would be a great exercise partner. Thanks for the dog day wishes. Every day is dog day in this house. I love the diner, Linda! It looks so 50s until you notice the Beatles display. I'm glad it wasn't just a burgers 'n' fries joint. How was the sundae? Haven't had one of those in years. Does the knee still give you problems? Have you started your next dog painting? Don't blame you for not feeling comfortable doing people. We're complicated. Becky, I'm glad you like the Inspire HR so far. With the exception of the Garmin you had that didn't need charged, they never stay charged long enough and, as I remember, that watch only is guaranteed to stay charged for 18 months or so. I think I'm getting about 6 days charge on my VS4. I don't seem to have gotten recharged despite 8 hours of sleep. My body battery right now is sitting at 5 and has been there all day, despite 30 minutes on the AMT and a weight machine workout. I saw tropical blob Dorian on the radar a few minutes ago, Kathy, and it's hard to tell which side of FL it will decide to visit. What are you hearing? Liz, I hope your last pre-surgery work day won't be too grueling. Not surprised about the request for you to telecommute during recuperation. Hopefully that would save you some sick leave/vacation/unpaid leave. I don't think I would jump into that too quickly. but worth considering. How long were you off after the last surgery? I can't remember. So, Wally is a jumper like Arya? No matter what I do, I just don't seem to be able to break her of that bad habit. Your weather sounds divine. It's been months since we had a low of 53. I dropped my breads off at the fairgrounds this morning. The master gardener plants were supposed to be judged on Friday but still hadn't been as of this morning. Also, the kiddy scissors I had on the herb planter as a decoration have disappeared. They shouldn't have been able to cut much of anything because they are rated for 3-4 year olds, so I can't see that someone would have seen them as dangerous. " src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/superangry.png">One of the volunteers proudly announced that she has been watering the plants, so I have a feeling mine will all come home with root rot if they survive. I keep reminding myself that entered plants to support the organization, but I don't like my plants being killed by well-meaning people. I picked up the few things I needed at the store and have been trying to rest and recharge my body battery since and that doesn't seem to be working. We have cloudy weather with rain moving in from the NW that should be here about dark. Anybody else having problems with the message board randomly logging them out? I went to post and noticed it had me listed as "guest" even though I had just been me on the site about half an hour ago. Weird....

Liz, I, too, am not surprised that work wants you to telecommute while you are recovering. Like Karen, I advise caution. I miss having a doggie to cuddle with. I don’t miss the middle of the night potty trips. It is crazy how much a short cab ride is. A Yellow Cab from our house to the airport is about $40 and it is only 15 miles. Uber is about the same. I hope tomorrow goes quickly for you. I know you want to get this over with so you can feel better. Karen, it has been raining all day and we never made it past 70°. We are having a taste of fall. I love it. People will steal anything. Unbelievable! I hope the plants survive the well meaning but misguided care. I went out to the garden after Iggy left and he must have thought the walking onion was a weed because he dug it up, unbeknownst to me, and threw it out. Idjit! I told him about it when I planted it. " src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/superangry.png"> Iggy will be home Thursday evening. I have been getting error messages on the site saying to try back again later. The baby and DN are doing well. I was wrong about her being overdue. She was early but she had a build up amniotic fluid so they wanted her to deliver. Emma is 20 in. long and weighed 7lbs 20 oz. She is eating like a champ. They showed me a 3D ultrasound of the baby in utero. You could see her little face! Amazing! She has lots of black hair. DN liked the onesies and loved the chocolate. We will go visit again this weekend. Her DH took off 2 weeks.p, so she will have him to help. Her MIL will also help. BIL and SIL had to go back north to go to work. I told my SIL if she could stay I would drive her home later this week but she is a teacher and needed to get back to her class. Waving to Linda, Becky and Kathy.

Chele Welcome to baby Emma. The onesies sound so cute.
Liz I hope your last day before surgery isn't too wild.I would trade weather with you any time.No cool off here anytime soon. It's 102 right now and very humid and miserable. We did have a good breeze this morning.I would not consider telecommuting until you feel much better.
Karen I never got a 6 day charge out of the VS4 but you seem to get better charges than I do on all my trackers.Do you wait until it gets really low to charge it?Since I have to take the mouse stick out of my computer to charge my trackers since I don't have enough USB ports I have to wait until I'm through with being online for the day.Yeah the vivofit battery would only last 12-18 months and the band is so stiff for that one.I like the lighter band on the Inspire HR.It says you can get up to a 4 day charge on it but no way will that ever happen.Five is really low.Maybe instead of working out rest for awhile and then your body battery should increase.Mine would often get low.

Happy National Dog Day to all of the TLC doggies! Chele, congrats on baby Emma! Glad to hear that baby and DN are doing well. That dinosaur onesie sounds very cute and I'm sure the chocolate was much appreciated. I remember my grandfather bringing Esther Price chocolates when he came to visit. Sorry to hear that Iggy isn't ready for another dog yet. It is a lot of work and responsibility, but I'm sure you'll know when you find the right dog and you're both ready. Very jealous of that taste of fall! It's sweltering here. Liz, I think the invitations have been selected for DM's party, so that's some progress. I just listened to the 6pm update on Dorian and I'm not liking that path at all. On the current track, it would be hitting South Florida, but those tracks can change. Can't believe you and Chele are already getting a taste of fall weather. This is the time of year when the heat and humidity really kicks in here and the storms in the tropic really get going. Telecommuting while you recover should help when you feel ready for it. Hopefully, you'll be able to stay home a bit longer and wait until a full recovery before commuting again. Those $20 cab rides would add up in a hurry. Do they give you any relief for commuting costs? My employer used to have an allowance for mass transit and parking. Of course, that did absolutely no good here since we don't have any mass transit or garage parking. The people based in DC and NYC were able to use it though. Karen, that was a LOT of cooking!! Right now, Dorian is aiming towards South Florida, but they said the cone will probably include parts of Central Florida. Some models are showing it go across South Florida and some are showing it going up the middle. That's rotten on your scissors disappearing. They were really cute on the display. I haven't had problems with the board, but I notice that it's putting the link for the emojis in the text. Weird.
Did you watch any of the UF-Miami game? It was pretty entertaining with lots of lead changes. Also, lots of mistakes and some bad calls. You could tell it was the first game for everyone, including the refs. I just heard that the game and a Backstreet Boys concert let out at the same time and caused traffic mayhem downtown. They apparently didn't have nearly enough shuttles to the parking lots and no city buses were running. What a mess! DM and I went to the store today and the traffic was crazy here. They're baaaackkkk!! The students, that is. The store was crowded and the parking lot was full. Our summer vacation is over. Becky, no cool down here either, but I shouldn't complain since we're "only" in the low 90s.

had to make another appointment first thing since today is last of antibiotics and uti not completely gone...soonest they can see me us Wed. sigh. Been going like this since March one thing or another.
Hacked at the bottom of an overgrown bush thus morning...going to have to keep sawing a big low by the ground branch to get it from interfering with the irrigation bubbler. Need to get it mire open at base to blow away dead leaves and provide provide. because plum tree drops plums into it which attract roof rats and ants. 20 minutes was my limit cutting down to it.
Then I did desk work and a couple errands.
back later ti catch up.

Chele, congrats to the family on the new healthy baby.
Yes every day is dog day here.
No painting urge yet, but class starts 11/9.
The sundae was excellent. I want another, drat.
Looks like the hurricane wants to visit Trumo's place.
Karen, hope your plants do not drown.
Liz, will be keeping you in my thoughts Thursday. I so hope when it heals it takes care of a lot of your pain. Telecommuting, when you are a bit recovered would be nice for reserving sick leave.
