Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Dottie - I hope you get the stove fixed soon. I would be living on sandwiches if my stove broke although I might pull out the crockpot early. I’m thinking about getting an instant pot this fall and getting rid of my crockpot. It’s getting old so instead of just replacing the crockpot, I’ll upgrade.
Heading to SSA office this morning to get the paperwork going for Medicare. Other cashier is taking 1/2 day off, so I will go in at 1 instead of 3 today. Young man and other office girl are back in school this week. Work schedules don’t make any sense, there will be 3 of us working on Saturday ... I’m going from not having enough help to having too much. Oh well. I decided to work both Sunday and Labor Day with other cashier. Will be last time I’ll be getting OT hours.
Looks like our weather pattern might already be changing to fall. I looked at 10-day forecast and not one of the days hits 80.
Enjoy your day

Good morning. Just a quick check in this morning. More about our weekend later today. Heading to pickup Mara at their house to save DS some time and so he can get to work on time! Cool morning and going to rain off and on this afternoon. Joy, I’m afraid we too are headed for fall weather already. Summer was too dang short!!!

Joyce, sounds like it is a good idea to get the OT while you can. My DS#2 gave me a 3 qt. instant pot for Christmas. I have used it a few times but don’t really understand it completely. It made good chili and soup. I don’t think the 3 qt. is big enough to do a lot in, such as cooking meats. How is your foot doing? Hope it is feeling better.
Welcome home Ruth.
I think our weather is changing to fall weather also. Nice sleeping last night but had to use a blanket. There isn’t any sun and only 70 so the house feels a little cool. The repair man came before 8:15 this morning, the repair only took about 20 minutes. He said it is the keyboard panel, he just cleaned it. He also said if this happens again he will come back and replace the panel. He felt the problem could have to do with all the heat and humidity we had.

Good afternoon. I had to go back and catch up on the weekend and Monday before I went to post. I didn’t think I had posted since we left, but I wasn’t sure.
We had a great visit with Carol and her DH, and saw all 4 of her children, and 4 of 5 grandkids. It’s fun to see the niece and nephews as adults and inter-act with them. And only the oldest DGD wasn’t around. Others came and went. But very frustrating because her oldest DS has sole custody of his DS (4) and
The chemo is really messing with her. She is starting to talk about getting a wig because her hair is probably 60% gone. It’s really thin where it still exists. Her DH says she’s holding on to the rest as long as she can. I think the chemo is as hard on the body as the cancer itself is in some cases. Her oncologist in Indy said he wouldn’t have had the surgery that removed so much along with the tumor. But it wasn’t his decision and Houston recommended it. She has her doubts that she might do it if she had it to do over again. She’s not quite 64 and looks 80. She still spends a ton of time in her garden. She sleeps a lot shortly after the chemo. She was tired from the weekend, with house guests, her kids & grands stopping by, and she did some gardening.
Trip there took 12 hours, trip home took about 12 hours, but we stopped a few more times. We hit torrential rain in IN, IL, and WI, but it was over by the time we got into MN. We had to pull off once it was so bad. And then add in construction, 1 lane roads, and so many semi’s and it was a hard trip. Stan was really over tired last night.
We picked up Mara this morning and she’s just now going down for her nap. Tried earlier but no go, so got her up and gave her lunch and put her back down. Stan had to take the car down to the dealer and have them fix a small piece of molding that was loose behind the front wheel. A clip broke and it was flapping loose. I unloaded the dishwasher and have the 3rd load of laundry in the washer. Would love to get more stuff sorted out, but probably not today.
Dottie, glad they were able to fix your stove. Frustrating that it breaks down and isn’t that old. Hopefully the fix will last and you won’t need more work. Joy, hope all goes well at work this week. You are doing super with the cb’ing. I want to get another pick up scheduled and then get more stuff ready for it.
Fall weather here also. Our state fair is going on (about 30 min from us) and they are saying no more 80 degree days during the entire last week of it (over on Labor Day). Going to be cool for kids going back to school. But they always seem to get a 90 degree day once in the fall and a lot of schools don’t have AC and a few have had to cancel classes. It was nice sleeping in here last night, but like Dottie, we used a blanket. Even me who gets too warm most nights.
Ok, Mara is in bed, Stan is home having lunch, and it sounds like the washer stopped so I need to shift to the dryer, and get a grocery list going. Need to run to the store but it’s thinking about storming here this afternoon.
More tomorrow!
