This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning everyone,
The sun is out and it looks to be a beautiful day here. Currently 60 degrees with a predicted high of 84! Of course, we will be back up to the low 90s tomorrow, so I'm just going to enjoy each day as it comes and for what it has to offer. Kind of something I've been trying to do more of lately, is "find the good". There are always positives, sometimes we just have to look a little harder to recognize them.
I hope Thursday is treating you well and that you're able to pick out the positives.

Good morning Lora and ATF. Your weather sounds lovely today. Looks like you may get a bit of Hurricane Dorian in the days to come?
We're having great weather here too, warm days in the low 80's and cool nights in the 60's and sometimes upper 50's. Can't complain at all - this is just about perfect in my book.
I have my annual CT scan at 1 this afternoon. My 6th one and hopefully can movie to a biannual schedule after this one. The nodule hasn't changed, which is both good and bad. It would be better if it would go away but that seems unlikely at this point. And at least it hasn't grown. Am also going to visit my staff person in the ICU. RobinMD was so immensely helpful, gave me such good information and feedback so at least I feel like I know what's going on. It still doesn't look good but we're staying hopeful. The ROs are so amazing - we always have someone with expertise on whatever issue one of us is dealing with. So grateful.
I signed up for an online course being given by the author of Brain Over Binge. Starts September 9th. I am hopeful, focusing on the positive as Lora suggests.
Have a great day, all.

Andi - yes, we'll probably get at least a little rain from Dorian no matter which path it ends up taking. Oh, I bet the online course will provide you with a lot of good and useful information. Enjoy your lovely weather, and I hope all goes smoothly at your scan.
The importance of positivity and gratitude is something I've really been working on lately. I have a little notebook beside the bed and before I turn the light off every night I list 5 things for which I am grateful - they can be big things or tiny details, but 5 things. Having that positive mindset is really helping me, and I feel like I go to bed with a calmer mind and it helps me let go of anxiety. I know it sounds a little Pollyanna of me, but I'm really coming to believe that positive begets positive and negative begets negative. There is enough negativity already out there, I surely do not need to contribute to it in my own life.

Hi all!
I am still in Kentucky. It has been an interesting week. I am not going to whine and complain but my stress levels are out of control at the moment.
The weather here is also beautiful.
I am ready to be home and not travel for awhile.
OH, I also found out that several of my co-workers also applied and have interviews for the same job that I applied for. It should be interesting.

Hello All... got up and to my morning yoga-type class, then off to help at the elementary school which my DGS will attend. I will return at 2:00 for a kindergarten orientation (since DGS and parents are on vacation)... I am glad to be able to do so; also had to fill out forms for them, but I will bring a whole packet home for them to fill out this weekend... Oh, I remember those days
Lora - I have been trying to be positive too...but thanks for reminding me!
Andi - I guess you are having your CT scan right now...hope all goes well. So glad robinmd could be of some help with understanding the medical issue with your staff person.
Jana - oh dear...glad the weather is beautiful, even though the stress is out of control. Will you get home tomorrow??
Robinmd - glad you get a little break with your Dr gone.
OK...Off for the orientation meeting

Good evening ROs. What a day! CT went ok, now just have to wait until my doc gets the results and can discuss with me. Hope everything is ok. Then I went to the hospital to see Jay, my staff person and it was tremendously upsetting. He doesn't look like himself anymore and while I expected things to be bad, knowing he's been in the ICU for 3 weeks, in an induced coma, hooked up to all kinds of equipment, it was still a major shock to me and the 2 members of my team I went there with. We got kicked out of the room after a couple of minutes but you can't unsee what you've seen. We then spent half an hour with his husband who just looks a wreck, not eating, sleeping, so overwhelmed and worried. Breaks my heart.
The rest of my day was uneventful at least and I know tomorrow will be super slow and there will be only a few of us in the office. I forgot I have a derm appointment tomorrow and had to reschedule it, may go down to see DS and family after work. Susie, I'm wanting to get a lipoma removed from my arm, just hate the thing. I know you deal with this - have you had any removed?
Jana, sorry for all the stress. I've never been to Kentucky. When do you get home?
Susie, how fun to go to kindergarten orientation. Were you the only grandparent there?
Glad to be flopped on my sofa. Have personal training tomorrow, work until 3 and then a 3-day weekend! Oh my I am thrilled.

Hi Everyone, Andi, I hope the results will be ok and at least stay the same and not change for the worse. That's too bad about your coworker. Susie, glad you got to your grandson's Kindergarten orientation. Today was pretty much the same as it has been. We had a staff meeting tho as well. We are going to try out a new system of doing extended care. Usually we have rotated weekly but they floated the idea of taking turns rotating daily. That gives us more time to do our work that we need to do on the other days. I think that the other center has been doing it like that. We voted to try it out for a month and see what we think. Of course I am the first one to do it on Tuesday the first day of school and extended care. But I will only have to do it Tuesday this week until all the teachers who have the afternoon shift have a turn. They hired an afternoon person also to cover short breaks and to help out with extended care. They dont expect as many extended care children due to the agency increasing the cost of the care and they will use the one room that used to be our conference/ break room. They wont be going into the other classrooms unless there is over 20 kids. It still seems like they dont have any plan yet for what happens when the earlier staff leave at 3 and that teacher is over ratio. 10:2. They seem like they will handle it when they cross that bridge as our director says. However there is one class where both staff leave early. I bet they havent thought about that. Oh well, as they say "Its not my circus". My former partner bought me a cup of coffee and 2 donuts for my birthday. I gave the 2nd donut to another coworker later. It was nice of her tho to think of me. Have a great night!

Hi everyone,
Just checking in to say hello. I'm trying to keep up with everything at work before my doc goes on her trip to Europe. But not a bad day overall. I am looking forward to a couple of days off for Labor Day. Like I've said, I work Saturday at the station, but because my regular day off is Tuesday, I still have 3 days off for the Labor Day weekend, and it is a paid holiday. Yippee!
I am going to try to get to bed here soon. Didn't sleep great last night, and was so tired today. I will try to catch up tomorrow. For now, I am getting ready for work tomorrow, and waving to everyone. Have a great evening, and a happy Friday. I'll be back.
