Quick good morning before we hit the road for CT. Talked to Karen last night and we are both so excited for a quiet weekend to relax, regroup and just spend time together. Aside from dinner tonight at Dane's and the picnic on Monday the weekend is pretty open...might hit a couple more wineries on the CT winery tour on Saturday for a couple hours but other than that....just lots of down time!
Hope every has a fantastic Friday....whether like me and Carole your long weekend has already begun or your weekend begins at the end of this work day....make it great! Make some time this long weekend for you!!
See you all of CT....will pop in to at least read as I can but will likely be MIA most of the weekend!
TGIF....I'm ready for the weekend!

Fantastic Friday!!! AND a Holiday Weekend to boot! Hooray!!! Good Morning ~ Sue - Safe travels - and have a wonderful relaxing weekend! You and Jason both deserve it - and it does sound great! I am OFF today from work but scheduled my side contract job. A little bit of travel but easy - about 45 min south using a main highway. Whew. Those back country roads are tricky - this student actually lives in the middle of 'nowhere' but grandma will drive her into town to the Public Library. Much better arrangement! Let's hope she shows up! Weather around here has been beautiful - cool mornings in the 60s warming up with Sunshine into the mid 70s. Tonight I'm going with Carly to watch a local high school football game. Her BF Ben is Defense Coordinator/Coach. It's his alma mater and apparently Ben was the local star when he attended - kind of cool. DH Gary would really enjoy coming but not sure if he can skip out early from work today in time to join us - we have to leave by 6:00 Other than typing my contract report I hope to get outside this weekend and WEED the yard!!! It's miserable looking. I honestly have not gone out there all month~

Good morning!
DOR from the TM but have a SUPER long run tomorrow so will be glad to give the legs a break. It is getting cooler in the morning here now too (for now---still many chances for 100's in September) but I am loving it. It seems that a number of folks here have today off in some way--enjoy your day! Today is a big travel day in our town--many people on the roads heading to the mountains for the "last" weekend of summer. I have a meeting until 4:00 pm but I am glad that it is local and I don't have to be caught up in the traffic.
Sue: Have a great trip! The downtime sounds so nice....it's just great to be there with good company and a comfy place to sit and talk. I look forward to hearing about it. I am so glad to hear how family-friendly SW is. It really does seem to be a great company and SO glad that Shea's timing worked for him to get a position there. Won't it be nice to be retired and have flexibility with our time? I fear though that I will still be a "scheduled person", at least for a while. It's kind of hard to change that habit (I think). It will take some effort to become a "real" retired person! Have a safe and wonderful trip!
Christine: When you describe these visits for your contract job, I realize how much "wilderness" there is in PA! I guess that it makes sense that a number of the people who have their kids in alternate types of schools would live in remote areas (it's that way here too). Hope that they show up and that it goes well. The football game sounds so fun! I hope that Gary can make it too---sounds like it would be fun for him. So, things are still progressing for Carly and Ben? How far away is the high school? I have SO many weeds too in the front planters---was looking at it yesterday and plan to attack it myself this weekend. We can compare notes!

Shelly: Good job making it to your workout! You know, another good thing about it being in the morning is that you will be moving around after you work out (at work). I think that will help with some of the soreness that develops after working out. So great that you have this option and glad that you were able to take advantage of it!
Lisa: Uh oh...sorry that the pork chops didn't go over well for Greg. Yep, I've had disasters with super dry chicken breasts and other things--happens to all of us! I don't even TRY pork chops--I can't figure out how to cook them without drying them out. Oh well, still healthier that eating out (most every time). Yay for the job! Yes, sounds right up your alley! I am sure that the wedding caused some chaos to the budget, but (as you said) it is worth it all right! Now you have another wedding coming up, right? Might be different though (in terms of expenses) since it is a son. I think? Hope that you have a good day today.
Carole: Enjoy your day off and hope that Tracy and Eden can make themselves scarce for a bit so that you can have some peace and quiet! Regardless, enjoy your day!
Hello to Jenny and all who follow..... I cooked chicken breasts in the air fryer--found a recipe that was VERY specific about temp and timing --- and they came out great. DH and I were really amazed at the fact that they didn't dry out. Will definitely do that again one day soon. Not sure what we are having tonight--both of us have really long runs tomorrow so something that digests easily would be best (especially for DH). We'll see. I will see you all tomorrow as I am not sure I will get back here. Have a fantastic Friday!

Good morning - thanks for starting us Sue... glad you got your early start, but see on FB you have had "traffic"... hopefully it won't make the travel day longer than usual!
Thirsty Thursday went well... 100 oz water ✔️ 5 F/V ✔️ No sugar ❌ No flour ❌ Journal ✔️ No eating after 7 ❌ Ken made popcorn! UGH!
So nice to come home to the roast all done and ready to eat! Slept OK... forced myself to stay in bed this morning - "slept in" (AKA DOZED) until about 7!
Today I have a few things on my list... but nothing too strenuous! LOL Just going to have a laid back - but productive - day!
First I will enjoy the quiet of the house - being home alone... Ken has gone to work, and Tracy (with Eden) has not come home from work yet... so I will refill my coffee - shut the TV OFF - and enjoy my morning catching up!

Christine: OK Have to ask - what Vitamin B Complex do you take? How often? How much? I need something... and today I will try to watch a stretching DVD that I got a while back, and see how I can - and where I can, incorporate it into my days! I NEED to do "something"! So "done" with feeling achy and tired all the time!
Sorry you are still dealing with leg cramps... Ugh to the commute... I too am trying to leave earlier - to avoid the buses... add to that the construction - and no "back way" around it... makes mornings very frustrating! Poor Carly... my only "bumper to bumper" is just on Main Street... some days are worse than others... some days I get to "the rotary" in 10 minutes, some days it can be as much as 25 minutes!! Some days I "go around"... takes extra time but much.less.stress.!
Awww, sorry salads aren't "calling you" lately... LOL I'd like leftovers, but don't want to go down the three flights of stairs to heat anything up! How sad is that? That I AVOID the break room because of the stairs! UGH THIS has to STOP!
Sorry you are working longer hours... but glad it's helping you feel on top of things. Guess there is good/bad to both sides! LOL The Prince "working"... you are too funny! I think he's afraid to come out and deal with people!!
Sue: I checked the weather in RI... only upper 70s and partly cloudy - most likely won't be a long beach day Sunday... but just BEING on the beach will help me - I think/hope... my mood has been very "down" lately... gotta turn it around!
Gabrielle: YAY for being home at night this week! LOL I still don't know HOW you do it!! Yes, fire season would be a scary time... hoping things are not as dry this year as most.?
Just for "you" my friend, I will be happy with a crisp fall day on Sunday in DC ♥ We will be heading home on Sunday so weather - as long as it isn't raining - won't truly matter to me anyway - so yes - for you - I will hope for the crisp - cool - fall day you prefer!
I so look forward to November - for YOU! WHEW! That will be a wonderful chance for you to maybe get "caught up" in other areas!
OH please share what AMAZING things you did to the chicken! LOL
Lisa: YAY for another morning walk... and your continued yard work... I "should" get out there and get some yard stuff done today - but maybe... tomorrow... I thought you looked lovely in the photos of the wedding {{{hugs}}} but we are always our own worse critics... so enjoy the photos of the beautiful day for your DD and overlook the flaws you may see ♥
Oh YAY for another job... and the best thing of all is whatever hours you want! Good luck to you on your budget!
Sue: Well it is good to hear SW is a family friendly organization. For some reason that doesn't surprise me at all! We try to use SW to fly every time... sometimes it is not feasible - but for the most part they are the airline of choice here! Can't wait to hear where some of his flights take him!
Oh Yes Sue - it is amazing what being "under" that single digit can mean!! Oh I know... we went to a cookie dough place in NYC one time - and WOW... I love my sweets but even I couldn't eat it all! I tried sharing with Ken and STILL brought some home!!
Yup, those extra greasy fair fries - gotta have them! LOL
Lisa: OH dear... yeah, sometimes we get in the rut of dinner choices too... but hey - gotta do what ya' gotta do! WOO HOO for the first of the shingles vaccine...
Shelly: YAY FOR YOU! Getting to the gym... hey 3 times a week is an awesome start!!

Oh Sue... sounds like a perfect weekend away for you!
Christine: YAY for you having the day too - a nice day for a short drive... hoping they show up and you can get the testing done. Oh sounds like fun tonight... seems our local HS had to "brother up" with another (fairly) local HS to get one FB team between them! UGH Seems kids around here are not interested in the sport anymore!
Add to that the EEE "scare" around here, and the schools have cancelled ALL afternoon/evening after school things, until this passes! Not sure what that will do to the whole FB program!
We are already 50s in the morning... warming up to higher 70s, sun is NOT "hot" any longer... even sitting outside in the sun - I am not "warm"... this is (I'm sure) adding to my "mood" lately!
Gabrielle: How long is a "super long" run?? Sounds like a heavy travel day everywhere... maybe it's better we are not leaving until tomorrow! LOL Coming home Monday will be tough enough! Hope your day does wind up by 4 and you can head home. Do you have a long weekend?? Will you have work-work to do at home this weekend??
Geesh you all are making me feel guilty not being out doing yard work! LOL I have no "weeding" to do, but want to get the yard "cleaned up" before the dreaded winter falls upon me!
LOL The girls just got here, and Eden is rarin' to GO! I think I will get dressed and get her outside for a bit... need to open the pool - to see how bad it is - try to vac it and put the chemicals in... then cover it for (probably) another week - until we truly close it...
Oh please share the way you cooked the chicken. I have an air fryer but rarely use it - frustrates me how big it is and what a waste of space it seems to be!!
Good luck finding a good dinner for you both tonight - maybe a simple soup and sandwich??
