This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning friends and Happy Friday!
My new coffee maker delivered yesterday and I couldn't wait to use it, so did the initial cleaning brew process with water and white vinegar, then followed that with 2 brew processes with plain water, and then yesterday evening brewed a pot of Café Bustelo that was magnificent. I had 2 cups, which of course means I was awake at 3am. Hahaha. It's okay though, it's not like I have anything pressing today other than the planned Costco run and lunch with DH.
Andi - I'm glad everything went smoothly with the scan. I hate that your PR guy is having such a hard time. I know these conditions usually come with a very slow recovery period. I'm sure it must be quite distressing.
Janet - that was sweet of your friend to remember your birthday. I'm thinking that you have a 3 day weekend? Any fun plans?
Robin - What are you going to do with your time off? I'm thinking there's probably some yard work planned? Because when one owns a yard, there's always stuff to be done, yes? Lol. I think I remember you mentioning possible closing down the pool this weekend, is that still on?
Susie - that's awesome that you're able to fill in for the school orientation. I hope your kids appreciate you and how awesome it is to have to nearby.
Jana - I'm guessing you're heading home today. Does this conclude your crazy month of travel? I'm sure you must be exhausted and mentally spent. I hope you can use the long weekend to relax and regroup. I remember well how draining week after week of work on the road can be.

Hi Everyone...A new day...got up before the garbage truck banging awakened me. I have been loving having my windows open. I went to my gym class; I missed it Monday and Wednesday, so was glad to get there today...then drove to DD's house (DGD had called while I was in my gym class) and took a walk with them. I actually have NOTHING else to do today until 5:00 - unless I go back to the gym when DH has his aqua workout with the trainer... YIPPEE...maybe I can get my book finished today.
Lora - the new coffee maker sounds great....I know you REALLY enjoyed that coffee (even if you were up at 3:00 AM). Enjoy COSTCO and lunch with DH !
Andi - seeing Jay had to be very upsetting...when DH was in that induced coma with all those tubes and wires, it was very scary. I am surprised they even allowed you to go into the room. Oh I have had multiple lipomas removed.... I don't even know how many...some are in places where they hurt or sometimes if they are deep they really hurt. I had a surgeon do the first one when I was in my 20s to make sure it was just a lipoma; all of the others I had done by plastic surgeons (of course, they all left scars anyway). If it bothers you at all, I would have it removed.
Janet - my DGS will go to his preschool/daycare center for after school care - I guess that is your extended care program. I am glad you are trying one day a week or whatever it works out to be...much better than being there every day! I sure hope there are fewer kids...easier to manage.
Robinmd - yipee for the 3 days off.
Jana - hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend...I am eager for you to be back home and I HOPE resting a little.
Amanda - do you get a break this weekend?
RobinS - can't wait to see your dress for the wedding...I know you have been really busy getting ready for it.
...back to reheat my coffee - I have been sitting here at the computer too long - ha!

Good afternoon all. I made it to training this morning and then hustled home to get ready for work. At least it's a short day today, will leave for home at 3. I'd hoped to see DS and and DGK's but they're on their way to DDIL's parents for the weekend. I miss the kids but I'm just as happy to head home. May go out to dinner with DN, don't feel at all like cooking. I'll have plenty of time over the weekend to do meal planning, shop and prep. Don't have many plans, which is good, because next week everything gears up again for fall. I have another two weeks of 3 times a week training sessions and then I'm going down to twice a week. Which will mean I have to be more disciplined about going to PF at night. That will be rough in winter for sure. Dreaming of retirement...
Susie, thanks for the info on the lipomas. I have a couple of them and they don't hurt at all, just unsightly, not that a scar is all that attractive. Thanks also for your reflections on when DH was in the ICU, gives me some hope that it won't always be like this.
Lora, congrats on the new coffee maker. I had decaf Jamaicin me crazy coffee this morning, enjoyed it a lot. I do love my Cuisinart coffee maker. I do not like my toaster oven so that's going back this weekend.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. 3 days is just wonderful, no question about it.

Hi Everyone, Didnt get to posting but read Lora's first post. Then was busy pretty much up to when we left at 3. We usually get off about 2:30 or 3 before a holiday. I am not at all comfortable with my teaching partner. I am not artistic at all and she is and I can just feel her and her friend just judging away. I know that she is doing a lot of decorating the room but I will be doing all of the observations, reports, etc.because she doesnt really write or read English so well. I need to check to with my director to see if that is really true. I dont want to ask her former teaching partner as she may say something to her. So if she really doesnt then all that falls on me which not to say she still might to decorate some but not as much as I will have to do so it balances out even tho to her it may seem that I am not doing as much as her right now. Tommorow my sister is making a birthday for me and my oldest sister. Her birthday is today and she is 11 years apart in age. My sister is making bbq ribs and chicken. Both of us love ribs but my other sister doesnt care for ribs. I wonder if she is from the same family. Lol! And I know she is making german chocolate cake with the great icing. Mmm!! Sunday my friend, her brother and I are planning to going to a bbq if it actually happens. If not maybe we will go back to the pool we went to last weekend. This is the last weekend they will be open. Monday I will shop for my friend, work on my portfolio and clean. Lora, glad you enjoyed your new coffee maker. Susie, glad you got to the gym. I think I will go tommorow morning. Have a great evening!!

Happy Friday, everyone,
Lora, I love the color of that coffee pot! I can see why you are longing for the appliances in the different color... This weekend, I am going to leave the pool open. The water is not too cool to swim in, because I have left the solar cover on, and we are expecting more hot weather in the coming week. I am only working Wednesday and Thursday next week, then off Friday through the following Wednesday. I can close the pool during that time, and possibly get a little more time out there. I do have some yardwork, but not a lot. I really need to paint the pool house, because I have not done it yet, and it was built new last year. I did paint the trim last fall, but didn't get the whole building done.
Andi, glad you got to go home early. Enjoy the long weekend, and whatever you decide to do.
Susie, I hope you enjoyed your time today. Did you get some reading done? I love how involved you are with the GKs! I loved my grandparents SO much, but didn't get to see them as often as I wanted to, being in the Army.
Jana, have a safe trip home! I've enjoyed your pictures..
Janet, enjoy your long weekend, too! I am going to get ready for work tomorrow. I already put my uniform out. I think I have my breakfast and lunch figured out. I hope the day won't be too crazy. I also hope I sleep better tonight, than I did last night. I am so tired when I go to bed at night, and then wake up at 3 or 4 am, and not much luck getting back to sleep. I nodded off a little before I had to get up, but had such wacky dreams, it was ridiculous. I may actually get a nap in, while I'm at the station tomorrow. We shall see! I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will be back at some point. Waving to all I missed, RobinMD
