HI, babs, welcome to the message board. I've never done FreeStyle, so I can't answer your question. I can tell you that there are lots of folks here who will be able to answer your questions and be helpful. Just be patient, people hop on and off the board during the day, and it gets quiet over holiday weekends!

Welcome, Babs ( babs) I have been on the 1972 plan—the first modification of the original plan also known as the “fish & liver plan.” I reached goal and Lifetime on that plan. I have been on the POINTS plan twice: 1999 without success; 2008 when I lost 31 pounds. I have been on the PointsPlus plan. Lost a few pounds and mostly maintained but improved my food choices and blood work numbers with the Good Health Guidlines included in that plan. I have been on SmartPoints; gained weight and resented the increased points for foods with naturally-occuring sugars—skim milk, sweet potatoes, etc. I have been on SmartPoints Freestyle; didn’t lose and exceeded my points allowance daily because, for me, the 200 zero-point foods were not a substitute for the foods I had been trained previously to eat. And after a short time I grew extremely tired of the 200 foods. Overall, with any WW plan, it is a matter of personal commitment, resolve, and mindset. You certainly can create meal plans that keep you within your points and provide enough food so that you are not hungry. Because daily caloric intake can vary greatly due to the SmartPoints formula, many of us double-tracked calories on any of the free sites (MyFitnessPal, TrackIt, MyNetDiary, etc.) to ensure we weren’t eating so many zero-point foods that we were exceeding the calorie reduction needed to lose. You have nothing to lose but weight, so go forward with a positive attitude and without fear. Good luck to you.

Hi babs welcome to the boards! zazzles summed it up really well. Basically this is the first WW program that I can say either works really well or not at all, there is no middle ground with this one like with all the others. Give it your best shot and you may find yourself losing quickly and steadily. If not, just hang in there and know that a new program is coming soon that might be a better fit for you. Either way you are moving forward and that is the important part. Just keep your head in the game and the body will follow. Good luck and hope to see you around. We are here for accountability, join us!

Welcome, Babs! This is a great board.
I am on maintenance, and PointsPlus was my fave.

Welcome! I'm a long time WW member, made lifetime in 1997.
Freestyle is my favorite incarnation of the WW plan to date.
I am currently below my WW goal weight with a little help from my new friend, intermittent fasting. I have always struggled with nighttime snacking (turned bingeing). IF has put an end to that for me.
During my 8 hour eating window, I follow and track on the WW app.
During my 16 hour fast, I track my fasts on the Life app. Plain water and black coffee only during fasting hours.
There's a lot of wisdom here, welcome aboard! :-)

I have not seen new WW programs for a long time but all of the programs that I have followed (totally) have worked. If I do the program as written then the program works and I lose weight.
There are many groups and threads...do check them out and join the ones that look interesting as each group is a bit different but all are supportive and helpful!
Welcome!
