Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
This is my work everyday holiday weekend. Today is supposed to be a nice sunny day, but they are predicting rain on Sunday and Monday. Canāt believe itās the last weekend of August already.
Ruth - one of these days Iāll be in that one in - one out habit, just not yet. Good call on spending your day at home instead of with your thousands of āfriends ā. I didnāt end up going to our fair this year, just didnāt want to deal with all of the food temptation.
Today the office girl starts working with me on Saturday. I am so looking forward to having someone there that can actually help me on the desk. Young man will also be there, I donāt know why but I just work there. Tomorrow Iām working 11-4, the Sunday before the holiday. Monday Iām working 10-6.
See ya later

Good morning all. Got to sleep in a little. Going to meet DS for lunch and collect Mara for a few days. DIL is working S-S-M, so will have Mara until Tue at dinnertime. DS did something to his back (Iām sure his weight isnāt helping) and he can hardly move, let alone lift Mara. Stan was going to go help with yard work today, but DS wants to wait until tomorrow. He wants to just ice and do what he can for his back. So either tomorrow or Monday Stan will go help him. They will mow and Stan will help cut out some weeds. I told him to have DIL gather up a couple baskets of laundry and send with Mara and Iāll get it back to them in the next couple days when Stan goes over. Hoping he sends some. That will be our weekend!!!
Joy, glad you will have help today. Could be busy!! Sounds like you are more ābabysittingā young man!!! Not good!
Yes, I felt good about not eating my way through our state fair too. We are both starting back to WW tomorrow. Going to keep same leader, but change days. Maybe try Sunday morning. We like the Saturday group, but Stan wants to start back up with his ham radio group and they meet on Saturday morning. We just decided a change of pace might help. And I want to get the weight off (so I have clothes that fit for Hawaii) so I can do the 5K w/o straining too much. And Iām afraid I may need to get my other knee done next spring, so this is added incentive.
Itās overcast here this morning and we might get rain off and on a little later. Hope itās not a wash out weekend. Joy, will you feel any of the results of the hurricane as it moves up the coast? Looks like Florida managed to avoid a direct hit.
Jody left Cathyās this morning, heading for Texas. And I hope Dottie is having a wonderful weekend at the lake.
I need to get moving and get dressed and get some things done before we go meet DS. Have a wonderful weekend all.

Ruth - we usually get some extra rain when hurricanes go up the coast, but I donāt think this one will affect us too much.
Other cashier went back to WW a couple of weeks ago. She is back on track and is doing well. Iām pretty much doing mindful eating and sticking to ADA guidelines for type 2. Hopefully that combination will keep me from actually getting diabetes. My goal is to lose 20 by the end of this year, I'm down 3.8 so far. I think going part time will help, more time to workout at the Y.

Good Sunday morning,
September already ... my favorite season is Fall and Iām hoping we have a nice one.
Browned 5# of ground beef after work yesterday. Packaging in 1# portions and freezing most to use in my recipes. Itās just so much cheaper to buy in bulk. Iāll chop up cabbage later to make unstuffed cabbage.
Work went well yesterday. I was able to leave the office to get checks signed and work with service advisors, something I canāt do when Iām on my own. Felt great to be able to get back to a normal Saturday. Today I work 11-4, easy schedule and all OT. Iāll be searching recipes and Iām taking a book with me. Sunday is the only day weāre actually allowed to be lazy. Itās only the sales team there so Iāll have minimal work to do.
Nothing much else going on today. I will probably do a load or 2 of laundry before heading in.
Enjoy your Sunday.

Good Sunday afternoon all. Yes, September. I know I sound like a broken record, but just thinking about it sets off my SAD. It is what it is!
Mara is up napping, Iāve been working on some of their laundry. Issue is some of it has cat urine on it that has sat for a while. Combine a senior cat (who they have since had put down) with urinating issues and laundry all over the place, and depression and busy schedules and itās a mess!!! There is more of it at their house that Iām hoping to get and be able to clean up. There is a liquid that you put in with laundry and itās supposed to work. Iām hoping it does. I gave them some at one time, but Iām guessing they have used it up.
Going to run to the store and see if I can find that stuff or if I have to run to a pet store to find it. Need bananas and a Sunday paper. 3 weeks in a row and my home delivered paper has not been delivered!! Iām really ticked off. And their customer service is next to worthless. Itās no wonder papers are going the way of the dinasour!!!
more later!

Good afternoon,
Just a quick check-in. We got home from the lake about an hour ago. Everything is put away. Since we probably won't be up there much this fall I had some extras to bring home. Severe thunderstorm warnings are out for the area. I Haven't seen any sun yet today, very overcast and cloudy. I will check back in later when I have time. Hope you are both enjoying your weekend.

Joyce, hope your working weekend went okay. Nice to get a chance to make some extra $$$. Glad to hear you were able to get your work accomplished. Sounds like a good idea to do some batch cooking when you have time, it may help you from making bad choices when you are busy.
Ruth, sounds like a good plan to head back to WW and Stan starting back with his radio group. Are you still doing PT? Sorry to hear about the mess with DSs laundry, hope things go better now that the senior cat is no longer with them. It is nice that you and Stan can help DS and DIL out so much. Hope DSs back feels better soon.
Friday was a great day with DDIL and the grands. It was also a long day. We left for the amusement park at 9:15 (the place is an hour from their house). We stayed till it closed at 6 oāclock. The rides are mainly for small kids and DGD and I spent most of the day doing the kiddie rides. DDIL either watched the DGSs ride or did the rides with them if they werenāt tall enough. Happy to report there wasnāt one melt down or problem all day. The younger two grands slept most of the way home. I didnāt get home till almost 9 ā I was one tired grandma. It was a nice weekend at the lake although the weather was cool. It has been raining (not hard) since about 2 and showers expected to continue off and on most of the rest of the day. Both Bill and I have been busy getting things ready for the trip. I did a 2 week pill box for both of us. I am mainly having problems deciding what clothes to bring. I know I canāt fit everything in the suitcase that I have out. Will wait till later this week and check out the temps in Italy and then pack.
