What can you do today to lose or manage your weight?

KOKO track, move and hydrate Another morning to be awakened by dove hunters. Also it will be a very hot day. I try to do a little bit of yard work each day but after 30 minutes it seems so hot. We are having ribs for dinner. I will make tabouleh and leftover eggplant casserole. Most traditional barbecue sides have too many calories. I will walk in the morning but spend the rest of the day at home.

June Thanks for starting the thread.I am feeling better.I have just been exhausted part of the day.
Audrey I don't blame you for staying home in that heat. Our temps went down with our thunder and clouds even though we didn't get rain. However it's back up to 93.Tomorrow and the next 2 weeks will still be hot.I admire you for walking in the mornings. It's still too hot to do that here and I doubt my knee would hold up on our country road anymore anyway. This way I do the recumbent bike inside in the AC.
I echo Audrey's goals.Mostly KOKO but I'm already planned so I just need to track, move and hydrate. We do need to buy groceries which on Labor Day will probably be very busy.
Ann I'm glad you got out.I'm sure it felt good to get out of the house.

June thanks for the jump start.
Audrey sorry for your heat. Would not like to wake up to gunshots. Take it easy with the heat.
Becky it did feel good to get out of the house.
We were able to get RocketMan so at some point tomorrow I'm looking forward to watching it. Donna may stop over to see it with us.
Right now our temperature is 66. I'm loving it.
Sweet dreams

I also plan to KOKO once again. No problem hydrating...it's the movement that I'm lacking.

I'm hoping to sleep in <hahahahaha> in the morning <hahahahaha>.
We'll need to hit the grocery store for the items that are only "super sale" Sun & Mon and our usual stock items; I'd like to do that early.
A question about dove hunting... WHY? Here in NJ I am familiar with duck and deer hunting for food. But doves?

I am willing to:
* eat vegan (Vegan Monday-Meatless Monday) * hydrate * journal * set the timer and walk 5 minutes each time the timer goes off (5 done already
Here's to all of us achieving what we set out to for the month of September!
JUNE: Thank you for the positive thoughts on my brother-in-law's surgery. He and my sister have a great attitude and are thinking positive. My sister said that this time next week all of the surgeries and such will be behind them.
MJ: It sounds like a LOT of work to tackle that big tree! What will happen to all the wood? Do you have fireplaces? I can see where a day lopping and chopping would leave a body too tired to party As much as I would like to be closer to family some of your days make me glad I am not as close as you are. Know you love them all but do hope you manage to carve out some time just for yourself!
ANN: Funny how some sayings stay with us forever...like the one about changing my name when food calls Hooray for the weight going back down!
SUSI: How do you make the jalapeno poppers and chili relleno casserole? They sound good though I wonder if it is too warm to make them in the oven till later in the year...just saw your recipe...sounds interesting! I wonder if using fat-free philadelphia would work? There are not many if any fat-free cheeses here in Lebanon. Love the green and your new photo! Sounds like a LOVELY day by the pool and walking dogs.
BEE: Hope you found great items at the grocery store to make wonderful meals with this week. When my granddaughters visited a couple years ago they wanted mac & cheese so I promised Kraft...and could not find any in a box SO bought Kraft boxed cheese and milk and elbow macaroni and came home, found a recipe on the Kraft site and...everyone had seconds (even the parents) and it was requested again before the week was up. I prefer a bit more "adult" mac & cheese. Never have had Amy's and now doubt I would ever buy it even if I saw it.
LADONNA: I hope that Dorian heads out over the water instead of in toward land. I hope you are hurricane ready in case it comes your way. I have my Core/SF book out on the table along with my journal...yesterday was OP and today will be, too.
BECKY: Hope you get some rest during the day since your night did not provide enough rest.
AUDREY: Thank you for the good vibes for my brother-in-law. I am hopeful THIS team of doctors will fix what did not get fixed the last two times he had surgery. He has always been active and keeps plugging along but at this point I think the pain is worse for him than the continued loss of mobility. Interesting the produce you have there...think we are at the end of the summer fruits now and usually only get reasonably prices produce if it is in season locally or grown in greenhouses. I had not thought about what a produce broker would do...though my daughter-in-law's father worked for a big grocery store chain and was in charge of flow of products in some way. I am sure flawed produce finds its way somewhere? I am curious about the dove hunting, too. We have some doves or pigeons someone released into the wild and they come to scavenge in our yard. Hunters hunt almost every morning for birds (no idea what kind) and walk home with them tied to their belts. Sometimes the bullets come a bit close to the house...
PAM: I always enjoy your positive posts.

I like that June - Staying in my lane I too would stay out of that heat Audrey. I generally just have a salad with ribs to keep it lighter. I'm so sorry your knees are not better after the shots Becky. Any other options short of replacement? Yes, it was a little cooler and enjoyable Ann. Enjoy the movie! Hope you sleep in MJ! Cathy - Yes, I use fat free Philly. If I have it, I sometimes mix in a little ff shredded cheddar. You can do them on a grill instead of in the oven if you choose. I cut them in half, seed them, fill them and put a tiny piece of bacon on top. Cook until bacon is crisp. Another lousy night of sleep. I guess relaxing days don't tire me out enough. Off to walk Charlie and feed the ferals. Then work.

Ann Glad that you feel well enough to venture out of the house and now consider having some company. Heard that "Rocketman" was entertaining. Would be fun to sing along. Enjoy! Thx again for sharing your leader's saying. That was a classic.
Audrey Good job being asactive as the outdoor weather will permit. True. BBQ dishes can be highly caloric. That's why I requested very simple sides yesterday. We had fresh green beans, corn on the cob, and cantaloupe. R put butter on his corn, I did not.
Ha ha ha. . . I actually knew the Sept. 1 was opening day for dove season in OH. Started at sunrise. Dove is a popular small game bird. In our state the mourning dove pop. Is about 5 million.
Becky Any chance that you can hit WM very early in the morning? Hope so! R went to a local store around noon yesterday. Not surprisingly, it was a zoo. Glad that you can use your recumbent bike inside where's its cool & comfortable.
Cathy Sounds like a workable plan. Thx for sharing. I was just thinking yesterday how keeping my materials "out" helps me be mindful. Your BIL & DS have a great outlook.
Mj Hope that you did sleep in. Always feel that that is a treat. Nice when the stores have sales that encourage stocking up! We restocked some basics last week. But are trying to use up meats from the small freezer.
Waving hi to Susi, LaDonna, Bee, and Pam. Apologies if I forgot anyone. Not sure what today holds for us. Will try to check back later.
Have a healthy, happy Labor Day everyone.

Susi Have a nice morning walk. Have you ever seen the small outdoor shelters for ferals made from used tires? Saw a pic on the internet not too long ago. I imagine that you are use to "doing" more than and thus needing more sleep.

No DivaTaxi. No LA-F. No MHSS. <aaaAAAaaahhh>...
We didn't make it to the end of the Bojangles Southern 500 - the race went green flag after 10 PM (rain delay), the first stage ended at 11 PM and "that was IT" for us. Erik Jones won, and since he's not one of the "big names" I would be willing to seek out a replay of the race at some point (it was his first win of the 2019 NASCAR Cup season in his 100th start).
Sunday Steak Dinner was at Charlie Brown's, which has become our go-to location. We never did have to MousekeSit but the MousekeDay got a bit scrambly nevertheless.
We're both up now (I was awake at 5:30 and Toots wandered out at 6:30). The only thing we have on our agenda is a grocery run to get the ShopRite specials that are only good 9/1 & 2. I'd like to pick up the pole saw from Son#1's and trim the neighbor's white pine branches overhanging our fence (at eye-level - makes grass cutting an obstacle course). At the very least, if we get the saw today we can trim during the week and take it back to The Plantation next Satuday. And it's supposed to rain at some point, so I can put some detergent on a couple of driveway spots and they'll get rinsed off.
BTW: the face bruise looks worse (as I expected) but both it and the wrist/arm are getting better. THANK YOU to all who recommended the arnica gel - it works!
Coffee time... βββ... raising a cup to American workers on Labor Day 2019...
