Good morning.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning friends.
I am finally back in town and plan on staying here for awhile. LOL
I have started again with eating Keto. I started over the weekend and I have a few days under me now and I am feeling good about it. My body really does like me eating this way.
I have a project for work so I am working a bit of over time right now. The $ will be nice but it is going to be a crazy month for me. (what's new huh?) I have an interview with the training department on the 10th. Today marks 50 days until I leave for vacation as well! I am soooo ready for vacation.
I hope you are all doing well. Sorry I haven't had time to go back and read personals.

Good morning,
Just popping in to say wave and say Howdy! I've been keeping myself busy with things around here. Our lovely "false fall" has given way back to real summer. We've been in the low to mid 90s and coming up Sun, Mon, Tue and Wed are predicted to be 97 & 98 range, which will feel well over 100 once humidity is factored in. Yuck! I'm not looking forward to that at all.
Nothing really new here, but just wanted to check in. I hope everybody is doing good.

Hey everyone -
The chicken thighs were made by just basic seasoning (s & p) then cooking for 25 min. Then I had to mix a packet of ranch seasoning with a couple of tablespoons of olive oil and add some garlic to that - put that over the top and then cooked them a bit longer. It was tasty.
Had fun last night but I was tired. Today is a long day full of meetings but tomorrow is the last day I'm working for the week. :-)

Darn, darn....just lost my whole post....the short version is :
1. I am going to try to check in all day to be accountable to myself ...my weight has been slipping up and up and then I do everything I can to WI and be "free" - and you all know how crazy I can get! 2. I am just too busy - ha, really? I am going to try to sit more today to take it easy on my knee. I already went to my gym class and did OK with my knee and decided NOT to swing by DD's house because then I get all sidetracked and end up not getting any "down" time.
Jana - so good to see you...is the interview about the job for which you applied?
Lora - as you could tell by yesterday's post, the ROs get nervous when you don't show up here -- you are our shining star and we count on all of your advice !!!! Hope all is well
Amanda - glad you had fun last night...but having fun can wear us out too - lol - I think that is part of my problem...too many social events. You had to work on Labor Day...right? And now all those meetings today? I know you are looking forward to a long weekend.
OK...this is MUCH shorter than the post I lost... maybe I just got to rambling on too much and the fates had me cut it short - ha!

Good afternoon.
Lora are you predicted to get any of Dorian? I think if we get anything it will be some rain later in the week. I know DH is watching it like a hawk. Sorry for the hot humid weather. I have seen some of the sunset pictures you have posted on FB - gorgeous. Did you ever decide on a camera?
Amanda - all day meetings are the worst. I had that all week last week. That's part of the reason I am soooo behind this week.
Susie sorry to hear that you are still having knee issues. Any idea what is causing it??
I have had a decent eating day today and stayed within my macros so far. I am a bit stressed between work and this issue with my car but I am trying to not eat my stress. I am certainly grinding my teeth though and I have quite the tension headache.
I worked 2 hours over time yesterday and I have worked an hour over so far today - I think I am going to leave it an hour and go home soon.

Jana - just checked FB to read about your car...oh no! Hope they get that all figured out and the fix costs you nothing. I have been pretty lucky with getting a loaner free of charge when work had to be done.

Hi! It's me again. Just thought I'd pop in while I'm eating my meal.
Jana - no, doesn't look like we'll get anything from Dorian. Last week before they knew the path it would take it looked like we would, but since it decided to skirt the coast, that pretty much took us out of the mix, at least for now.
Susie - I haven't read the last couple of days posts yet, I need to go back and catch up I guess. I like that your being more mindful of selfcare. I believe it's important and we shouldn't ignore opportunities to rest, reflect and relax. It's good for our body and our brain.
Amanda - those thighs sound good and super simple. My favorite kind of cooking. So has everything settled down a bit now that move in is completed and fall semester is revving up. I hope the students are settling into routines and your load lightens a bit.
So Sunday started my 4 week fasting program. We had a few different options to choose from for this week and I chose to do what's usually called OMAD (One Meal A Day). Although I'm looking at it as more of a 23/1 fasting schedule. Meaning I fast for 23 hours, and have 1 hour to consume all of my calories for the day. My first day on this eating schedule was Monday, and I'm already seeing a positive impact on my blood sugar, which is exactly what I was hoping for. My morning numbers are down by 10 points and afternoon/evening readings even more. It takes some work to plan to get all of my daily calorie target eaten in one meal, but so far I'm doing fine. By only eating once a day, I only have my blood sugar spike once and a single insulin dump, instead of it happening multiple times a day, every time I have a meal or snack or pick at food all day. Mark is doing it with me, so that helps too. And having the other 9 people in the group for support and two experienced coaches is nothing but positive and helpful. My energy has been through the roof since Monday. I just can't stop doing things around the house. I really feel fantastic. This group explores different kinds of fasting and different fasting schedules for each of the 4 weeks. I'm looking forward to what comes next, but I almost hate to leave this particular schedule, because I feel so darned good and I'm seeing exactly the results I was hoping to see.
Anyway, I'm rambling on. I hope everybody is having a good day. I need to go, as I spotted some dust bunnies under the bed that need to be taken care of. Lol

Susie - during my 23 hours of fasting I can have black coffee or tea (no sweeteners), plain water & water to which I add salt (to keep my electrolytes in line) and a packet of True Lemon or True Lime (which is just crystalized citric acid part of the lemon/lime- no artificial flavor, no sweeteners, no calories in that). During the fasting period, the goal is to not consume anything that will cause either the blood sugar or insulin to rise. And yes, the eating happens only during that 1 hour window.

Hi Everyone, Just saying so far I havs survived the first two days of kids and my new teaching partner. I felt very nervous yesterday morning but I guess I do what I do best with the kids and stopped focusing on what my partner was saying Friday. Tommorow is already Thursday. Weather permitting we may go down the shore on Sunday. The water may be rough tho if we feel the effects from Dorian. I saw that the beach we go to is going to continue to be open for during September. So maybe if the weather isnt so great this coming weekend there is still a chance to go still. Lora, glad to see you posting. Susie, hope you got to relax some. Jana, glad you are home for a while I hope. Good luck with your interview. Have a good rest of tonight.

Happy Hump Day!
Just a quick check in to say hi. Work was good today, with lots of time to catch up on things. I found out today that the "powers that be" are switching our insurance - again. I have been really happy with it for the last 2 years, and now I am going from a $500 deductible to $2500, at the least. The frustration I feel about this place is beyond words, right now.
Lora, glad you feel so good with the fasting. I usually eat a healthy breakfast at about 1000, then something for a late lunch and nothing again until breakfast the next day. My stomach won't let me go a VERY long time without putting something in there, and I have been handling the fresh fruits and veggies well, lately. I really don't mind not eating, and usually feel better when I go long periods without it, but for the past 11 months or so, I have more problems when I add food back in, if I go too long. I just try to make the most nutritious choices that I can, to get more bang for my buck, for lack of a better way to put it!
Jana, where are you going on vacation? Sometimes, a "stay-cation" is really nice! I don't remember you mentioning a trip or anything. Goodness, you have had plenty of travels for work lately!
I am working again tomorrow, then off until the 12th. I think I mentioned that I put in for Saturday the 7th at the station, but I don't believe he is giving me that, and I put in for the 11th, but haven't heard if he needs me for that. I have always worked the 11th, whenever I could. On 9/11/01 I was working, and I have always felt better working for Fire and EMS on that day, ever since. I know he is deployed for hurricane help, but I am hoping he will check his messages and let me know if I can pick up at least one shift. If not, I'll just be careful with my finances, and try to pick up more shifts in the coming months. I hope to get a lot of stuff done while I'm off. Let's hope the weather co-operates!
I am going to get ready for work and get a good night's sleep. I hope everyone is having a good evening, and I'll be back tomorrow.
