Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
I was able to get my walk in yesterday and today. I’m only walking my 1 mile route. Foot doesn’t hurt any more or any less. It’s an annoyance now, but I’m noticing it’s worse in the morning, definitely think it’s just plantar fasciitis. Use finished some stretches and using the frozen water bottle. Feels so much better afterwards. It’ll just take a while.
Ever since they found the bee/wasp nest in my attic I get my house sprayed 3 times a year on the outside, my garage too, and they check for any unusual bug activity. Guy was here a few weeks ago an said yellow jackets have been a big issue this year. He found no problem in my yard but said they are getting calls all they time. Sounds like they were able to take care of them the right way, evening hours. Hopefully that’s the last you’ll see of them.
Dottie - you must be getting excited about your trip. I’m just going 6 hours away and I’m looking forward to leaving on Monday.
I got a lot done yesterday. Packed away my shorts and capris, put a lot of summer tops that were still in good condition but that I’m tired of wearing in a bag for charity bin. Looked in my closets and am planning on starting my closet switch on Friday. There’s no real reason for me to switch closets since I’m the only one that lives here but I find I thin out clothes when I do it. I’ll do an overhaul of my sweaters soon too. I have too many of those. I also need to thin out my pjs, way too many sets. I’m on a roll ...
Enjoy your day

Joyce, hope your foot starts to feel better. There is also a “boot” that you can wear at night to help with PF. Bill used one for a while and it seemed to help him. You are doing great with all the CBing you are doing.
Ruth, sounds like it was a successful evening at your DSs house. Hope the wasp situation is resolved completely. The reason we each carry a different card is that if one of us has our purse/wallet stolen or lost we still have the other card to use. Glad to hear that PT went okay.
I thinned out the clothes I plan on bringing, I think it will all fit in the suitcase. As I was going thru the clothes that I plan on taking I have been putting the clothes I no longer will wear this season in the guest room dresser. I only use 2 drawers so that there is room for the guests to put some of their things in a drawer. I still have a little room left in one of the drawers but will need to put the clothes I am bringing in the drawer at the end of the season.

Good evening all. I’ve gotten on here a couple times today to post, and then things came up and I didn’t get it done. We both slept late this morning (me/9; Stan/9:40) and had a slow start to the day. Both just wiped and needed the down time and sleep. We went to brunch and ran a ton of errands. I found a few bargains at Christopher & Banks. Got one shirt for $3.99, and 2 others for $6.99. Things I can wear in a pinch now, but mostly will save for Hawaii. I need some fall clothes too, but didn’t see anything that just screamed my name. And a lot of their stuff is mustard yellow, and that is so not my color! I’m not a fan of it anyway. They do have some nice rusts and burgundy out too tho. Stan was waiting so I didn’t try anything on and will maybe order just a couple things based on what I saw and touched. I’m not even sure if I have jeans that will fit right now. Ugh!!!
Dottie, that is a great idea with the credit cards. Going to suggest to Stan that he take the one we use least out of his pocket and leave his home. Mine we will lock in the safe with cash, passports, jewelry, etc. so we have it with if needed. We use our Visa thru AARP because it’s a rewards card, but have the MasterCard that we’ve had for 30 years and just don’t use much now but has a big limit if ever needed in an emergency.
Packing is such fun!! Not!!! We are going to really try to limit baggage for Hawaii this time because there will be 6 of us and luggage in a minivan to and from the airport in Hawaii. We get 2 bags free each since we fly first class, but they can be an issue in the car. DD has perfected packing light for them and the girls and since we have the condo with a washer / dryer in it, we can all pack lighter.
Joy, I’ve forgotten where you are going in 6 days!
We went to Mara’s “dance” movement class and picked her up. Didn’t end up seeing any of it, but I think that’s ok too!! She’s 21 mo. so I think it’s kind of silly anyway! Would much rather see her in a swim class learning to save herself around the water. Maybe I’ll talk Stan into taking her to a class at our Y. Think we’ll have her until sometime Friday. Then we need the weekend off.
I have laundry finishing up. And I did finally get started on moving the clothes down from the bed upstairs. I brought a few fall clothes down and need to sort out more. Need to get Stan’s long sleeve shirts out of the upstairs closet to make space for my summer/Hawaii stuff. And I need to get Mara’s fall/winter 18 & 24 mo things out of the other closet and then we can use that closet for some storage if need be. The one closet up there still has 2 wedding gowns in it. Younger DD’s and then DIL’s that was never used and has been for sale forever!!! If DD had a decent closet (she doesn’t!!!) I’d send it home with her. It’s never been cleaned or anything. Just brought here and hung up. Beautiful dress!
ok, dryer beeped. More tomorrow!
