It has been a hard day here. A friend put her husband in the hospital Monday with double pneumonia. He had COPD also. He passed this afternoon.
Also another friend's dog, Creek, may not live through the weekend.
You just never know. Hug and kiss your loved ones --- including the furry ones.
I am WILLING to be AWARE today.
God bless you ALL!
June, hope your Mom is doing good.

June, it is so important to recognize everything you did this week that was positive. Bee, I am so sorry for your loss. Since our neighborβs son died, an on line friend lost her MIL and another lost her mother. Too much sadness. Becky, Iβll share your goals today. I rode the stationary bike Tuesday and Wednesday. Today I see the trainer so I may pass on the bike. Sending love and positive thoughts to everyone.

There were only three of us yesterday for most of the day. Greeks were in Greece and one Greek is now working at the castle in Tripoli so came by when she finished and I took her and another friend home when we were done. The food was HEAVY with butter, cream and oil. Menu: green beans with onions and oil, tagliatelle with butter-blue cheese and walnuts, a curry tart with walnut shells here and there), mushrooms cooked beside a chicken meatloaf in butter sauce and ice cream for dessert...OH MY! Ah well - no seconds because it was just too hot and humid! Next week we may go out or just skip getting together. It was hot and humid ( mid to high 80's) without an AC though we did have a fan.
I have had my rice milk iced latte and cold porridge from the pot I made a couple days ago with some homemade jam on top. No idea what today's food will be but there are plenty of leftovers in the frig. My husband will be in Beirut this afternoon.
No news from my sister yet. I am sure her husband must be out of surgery by now but she may be too tired at the end of the day to send a message to let us know.
I am willing to: * walk five minutes every hour till I reach twenty minutes...maybe add in another if I feel like it and it is not too hot * hydrate * make wise food choices and record them
ANN: Hope your friend's husband is doing well after his hospital visit - how nice that the muffins put a smile on Sunny's face.
BECKY: We need groceries, too, but with hubby away with the car have a feeling it will have to wait till tomorrow.
LADONNA: I hope the worst you get is rain and some strong wind when Dorian passes by.
BEE: Love the visual of broomstick lanes Hate that a friend's husband passed away and that Creek may not last the week. You are right that we should value those we have and let them know they are loved.
JUNE: I love the visual of you sitting in the quad soaking up sunshine...and walking. I just got in my first five minute walk inside and have the timer set for an hour to get up and do another five minutes...baby steps. I am sorry to hear about your mother's fall and hope it was just a fluke and she will be back to no-pain soon! EWwww to the restaurant frying fumes and hooray to the five minutes outside. It sounds like the place your mother is staying has good people as patients, caregivers and on the medical team. That must be a comfort.
SUSI: Hope to see another post from you as I work through the day's worth of comments. I saw the comment and chuckled...indeed...maybe tomorrow
MJ: You made me smile with your creative post. It must seem strange to have all of the grandchildren in school without preschoolers in the mix. You sound busy as always!
PAM: I have heard that cataract surgery makes a HUGE difference for the better! When do you think you will have it and is it one eye or both of them? If there is snow on the day of your surgery perhaps you can take a taxi instead of driving your own car.
AUDREY: My friend is fine...she did not come to lunch in Tripoli yesterday as she said she was busy with back to school orders coming into their shop. My BIL was in surgery for over 8 hours yesterday as they opted to do the two procedures on the same day since the neurosurgeon was off for vacation and wanted to do both ventral lower back and posterior lumbar now rather than later. My BIL will have ANOTHER surgery at some point in the future (after he heals?) on his cervical spine. It is tough but he is in good spirits and my sister is thinking positive.

Bee Am sorry to hear of the death of your DF's husband. Will prayer for her and everyone who loves him. Will pray for your friend whose companion, Creek, is failing. Agreed. Life is precious. Cathy Enjoy "shopping" in your own refrigerator for FF. each of those five minutes increments will get your closer to your goal.
Wow... the hostess really, really spent a great deal of time preparing the meal. A local BBQ owner always claims that he puts "a cup of love" in his food. Sounds like your friend did, too. Ha ha ha... I am a plain Jane eater, so only the ice cream would have appealed to me.
Will continue to pray for your DS & BIL
Audrey Great plans for changing up your activity. Enjoy your training. In her 70s, my mom use to remark that they "were of an age. ". I understood. She meant that family and dear friends were suffering losses every month, if not week.

If the weather is nice after work, I will ask DH to go for a walk with me at a local park or mall.

Prayers continue for all ailing and/or stressed posters and loved ones... and thank you for your prayers for me and my family... especially for the Mouseketeer...
Extra prayers for all who may be affected by Hurricane Dorian as it heads up the east coast... and for those who've already felt its fury...

It's cloudy and cool and only heading to the low 70s and the rain's coming in tomorrow. If we're doing any yard work (grass cutting or tree trimming), it will be today.
DivaTaxi's off-duty (Son#1 WFH) but MHMR kicks off. Toots is going with me as we figure out the school building logistics (two boys; may be different entry doors). We do NOT have pickup duty today.
Six of the seven grands started the school year yesterday; MrLogan goes back today. The pictures of all look promising.
Will fortify myself with coffee... βββ...
πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏ Have a healthy-eating day, all! πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏ

LaDonna so sorry to hear about Randy's uncle. Keeping him and all involved in my thoughts and prayers. Smart move to close the schools due to the weather. Praying for safety for you.
It's beautiful here today so will get errands done and over with. I know this weekend 'they say' heavy rain/wind for our area. Last time they said that it went just north of us. Hopefully we'll luck out again. Time will tell.
