This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning everyone.
I'm trying to decide whether to get out and do my weekly grocery shop today or tomorrow, I'll probably wait until tomorrow, either way I definitely don't want to wait for the weekend when we get that temp jump into the high 90s. Blech.
RobinMD - for extended fasts (anything over 24 hrs), I've always broken it with something small and light to kind of gently "wake up" my digestive tract. A cup of warm broth or 1 scrambled or hard boiled egg, and then followed that up with a more substantial meal a couple of hours later. That seemed to always help me avoid any fast breaking tummy troubles.
Waving to everyone I'm missing. I've got a couple of things I need to get done and out of the way this morning. I hope everybody is having a good Thursday. I'll try to pop back in later.

Good morning.
Lora thanks for the fasting information and for the True Lemon info. I have been using True Lemon and sea salt in my water this week while I am jumping back into keto and I was wondering if True Lemon was ok but had not had a chance to look for the information on the FB group. I know I need to make this change more about my health and not the # on the scale so that it will be more long term but like I told you earlier this week, unfortunately it is about the # on the scale right now. That being said - I have seen a significant drop in my weight since Sunday and I am very happy with that. I realize it is mostly water weight, etc. Also I have had a couple of headaches this week, which usually goes hand in hand with the carb detox and I am happy to say that sea salt has been a HUGE help with those. I have not seen an increase in my energy yet but that usually hits me at 2 1/2 to 3 weeks on keto so I know it is coming.
RobinMD I am going on a cruise in October. It is leaving out of New Orleans so we are leaving early and spending 3 days in NO before the cruise leaves. We have 4 other couples going with us and we are super excited about it. These are people who do not feel the need to be in each other pockets for the whole cruise so I think it is going to be a fun time.
Funny story - as soon as I said no more business travel before my vacation - bam - I am traveling 9/23 through 9/26 but it is in Virginia. I will be just a few hours from home so I think it will be easier to prep some food and take it with me. I won't be in all day meetings for this travel, so fingers crossed, I shouldn't get that far behind with my work.
I received a phone call this morning that my car is fixed. Something to do with the turbo something another - LOL and supposedly it is all a coincidence that it broke at the same time I had body work on my car. I am calling BS on that though. Anyway right now it isn't costing me anything and I will be happy to get back into my little jolly rancher car.
Waving to everyone. I am going to try to be back later.

Jana - I'd kind of forgotten about the True Lemon and Lime until recently. I initially bought it because the packets were easy to send with Mark for work. But I also threw some in my purse, and then started using it here at home too. Sorry about the extra travel days thrown in. But at least it sounds like it will be easier for you to deal with your food options yourself. Glad to hear the car is fixed and that it's not costing you a bundle.

Hey there - Just 4 hours left until I start a long weekend - first time in 20 days I won't be on call or working... WOO!
I hope everyone is being safe if you're near where the storm is heading - or if you have family in the path I am thinking of them. I've seen some pictures that are just devastating.
Not too much to say just trying to get my work done and go home!

Amanda enjoy that long weekend. Are you doing anything fun and exciting?
I am working on Saturday - yay me. I have a project to get finished by 10/1 and I just don't see how I have time to work on it during working hours. Fortunately I do get paid overtime

Good afternoon all. I have a day off today to use up some vacation time so I don't lose it and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I went to personal training at 8, came home and had breakfast, tried to go to the store but they were doing repaving work on the road outside my complex and traffic was backed way up, so I went back home and took a nap. Read my mystery, ate lunch, and then got out to the store where I got fresh corn, tomatoes, peaches, figs, cooked shrimp, smoked salmon and a jicama. Score. Oh, an avocado (ridiculously priced) and green beans too. I do love this time of year so much and this particular store carries a lot of local produce. I have a work call with my board at 5, unfortunately, but our consultant will be on the call and hopefully I can do a lot of listening. I've been feeling very irritated with a couple of them and I need not to express that.
Lora, that is certainly hot weather coming your way. We have fall here today - I even had a sweatshirt on in the house this morning.
Jana, you sound full of energy even though you're not feeling it yet. Just getting our food back on track is such a freaking relief, right?
Amanda, you so deserve this 4-day weekend! Hope you get some rest and have fun.
Have a great day, all.

Amanda! Yipee! I know you'll make the most of your long weekend!
Andi - I'm sorry you have to be on the work call on your Vac day, I hope it goes smoothly and everyone plays nice. Glad you finally got out of your complex and got the grocery shopping done. I still have that on my list for tomorrow.

Hi Everyone...Got to my morning gym class, then went to a lecture on Abraham Lincoln, followed by one on the American West...DH and I then stopped at COSTCO, then picked up DGD from school. I am home now with nothing else this evening. It has been dark and windy for awhile, but no rain yet. I have brought all the planters in, etc. We are supposed to get high winds all night I think, but nothing like the beach areas. I did do really well with eating yesterday and went to bed early... I will do the same tonight. I am concentrating on increasing water and decreasing sugar.
Jana - you do sound really good and I know you are happy about getting your car back !
Lora - I am so impressed with your fasting...
Amanda - You have already started your weekend as I am writing this...YIPPEE - enjoy every minute of it.
Andi - a vacation day for you too....yeah...oh, except for that work call with your board - bleh. The nap sounds great though.... and all of that food you got sounds delicious
OK...off to go outside and check the wind again...then I will read for awhile.
