Good morning.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning everyone.
WI this morning has me down 5.5 lbs. Obviously I am extremely happy with this. I would like to lost at least 10 more lbs before vacation. But if I don't I will take whatever I get.
I am working this morning. Skipped breakfast with DFs and tonight we are going over to some other DFs for dinner. In between I need to get a few hours of work in and make a grocery store run.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday.

Good morning, ROs!
I never made it back yesterday...after my shopping expedition, I got home and YDD got home and came in to chat and hang out a while. Maybe she is thinking I'm not such a horrible person after all! It was a fun conversation and I was happy to see her funny personality come out again. I did get my paint, a new doorknob for the front screen door - it broke in my hand the other evening, so it will be fun to see if I can change it myself! I told the guy at Lowe's that I am more of a Tim, than an Al! I also got some grout-type stuff that I need to some gaps in the edge of my fireplace, and a couple of other odds and ends. I am excited to get some of these things done around here, and looking forward to the cleaning and painting, in many areas of the house. Anyway, after all that, I went over to the park to help get some things ready for the food that will be served today, by the ambulance company. It was nice to visit with some of the people that showed up, and today will be fun to serve some food. I will get some shopping/looking done today, or maybe go back and do it tomorrow. I love going from vendor to vendor and seeing all the stuff that they bring.
Jana, I love that there is so much support and encouragement, and reality checks here among us. I missed it terribly, and am so happy to be here again. Lora had just the right things to say to flip that switch for you, and she knows you well enough to understand how far you have come, and where you come from... and sometimes, it can be a simple thing like "stay in the present" to bring you back to a better mind-set. Right now, all you have to worry about is today... such an easy thing to forget! And yea for losing over 5 lbs! Susie, I'm so sorry about that headache! I hope you feel better today. And I am hoping you have a nice time at that wedding. Sorry for continuing drama, though...that is stressful. I hope that you have a good afternoon, when you return home.
Lora, I think chili sounds so good! It will be great for football. I agree that I always think of it as a cold weather food, but I love it every time, no matter when. How are you doing the queso? I loved your sunrise picture this morning. I just love sitting outside and enjoying the beauty around me. When Mom came to stay, I made a pretty sitting area on my front porch for the sunsets, and I have the patio outside the back door, that is lovely any time of day. It is so calming and helps me relax and enjoy the moment. All the gardening and yard work are worth it!
Well, I guess I'd better get myself ready to head over to the park! I warned them that I wouldn't be there serving breakfast, so I will just tell them that I was waiting to make sure I was there for the big lunch rush! HA! I will be back later. I hope everyone is enjoying a beautiful Saturday (the weather could NOT be better here today)...waving to all to follow!

Good morning everyone!
I got up at 4 this morning and was going to start the thread, then got all squirreled and didn't get it done.
Jana - Nice work this week! I hope work today is easy and productive.
RobinMD - the cheese is the easiest thing ever. I just slice it into little planks, and pan fry it in a bit of butter in a non-stick skillet. It doesn't melt down like a cheddar or whatever would. It actually holds it's shape and just browns up nicely on both sides. There are some more expensive specialty cheeses that do the same thing, like Halloumi, but it's ridiculously expensive and the taste and quality are indiscernible from a decent Mexican queso fresco. I rarely actually catch a sun rise picture (mostly because I'm generally still in bed..Lol) But I was up early enough this morning to get a nice shot. It sounds like you have lots of projects to keep you busy. I'm sure the door knob replacement will go fine. When in doubt, I turn to YouTube. You can find just about anything you need there if you look hard enough.

Hi Everyone....just got home from the wedding reception in N VA. It was very nice, but it was stressful since DH felt that it was not a facility which he could get into, and DS and DDIL did not go (since DGS could not go)....so hard feelings ensued.
Jana - yippee for the loss!
RobinMD - glad you are getting caught up with the little things (some not so little) that drive you crazy around the house...plus, you get a break in the afternoon checking out those vendors! You are so right about all the support, encouragement, and wise responses we get here! So glad you had a nice time with YDD.
Lora - I never thought about doing cheese myself.. I do have some WHISPS (100% parmesean cheese) from COSTCO- but I'm sure it is more expensive than doing it myself. I always forget about youtube for all kinds of things...thanks for the reminder.

Hi Everyone, Today was busy as usual. Went to the library to return a few things, get a few books and work on my portfolio some. Made a quick stop at a dollar store, came home for lunch for a bit and then went to the gym for a while as well followed by a stop into Giant for a few things. I am going down to the beach tommorow. I was back and forth about going as they were saying high surf advisories and rip currents but both will be cancelled as of tonight. I know I will probably be bored staying home so decided to go. I probably wont be able get too far into the water like when I was at Cape May. That part was great that day. The water was just the way I liked it. Got over this past week but I dont expect it to get any easier yet as we are supposed to have 4 new kids on Monday. Friday I was asked to go downstairs and help the teacher downstairs because the teacher left a day earlier than she said she would. I have a feeling her friend will be leaving soon too leaving us very short handed if she does. I dont understand why they didnt leave earlier during the summer. I am guessing they didnt want to lose their vacation time. I heard one of the ladies was going to the agency I used to work at. Not sure if it is the same center as I didnt ask her. Robin, glad you got your items needed to fix things and the paint. Also that you got to the park.
Susie, sorry that things were tense due to certain factors. I remember similar things happening in our family as far as certain people in the family such as the second cousins not invited. Lora,I hope the chili turns out real good and you enjoy the game. I used to get the canned beef chili but switched to the turkey instead as it is less fat. Once in a while I buy a can and put it over a potato or sometimes taco shells with some melted cheese. Have a great evening!

Hi again,
Lora, the cheese sounds so good. I might try that some time!
Susie, glad the reception is over! Too bad about the hard feelings for people. You know, I always forget about you-tube! I am hoping I can find instructions to remind me how to put a day bed together, that I took apart. I have all the parts, just not sure I remember the details.
Jana, I hope your dinner was fun tonight! Is this the one, where they wanted to try some catering dishes? You are so strong, to be able to take your own things and not worry about the food. Just enjoying the company is what it is really all about!
Well, I spent the afternoon helping with the food stand. It was so busy! The weather was absolutely beautiful, and there I was a really nice breeze that kept it from being too hot working around the grills. I MIGHT go back in the morning and help serve breakfast, but since I got nothing done here today, I don't know if I will or not. I'm heading to bed soon. I will be back tomorrow. I hope everyone is having a good weekend.
