This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good Afternoon ...I got to the gym, but left early so I could get to my mammogram appointment. Ever since my DS had breast cancer, I have gone to a center where I can wait for the results instead of worrying until the written report comes in the mail. I know things can be missed even with mammograms, but it makes me feel a little better.
It seems like we have really been struggling to get here lately...hope everyone is OK.

Good afternoon ROs. Susie, I'm so glad your mammo was ok. It's always a relief. I tell DSister that it's her fault that I'm in a high risk category now and she's always apologetic (obviously I don't say this seriously! Hard to tell tone in a post).
Susie, I agree, we seem to be having trouble keeping the thread going these days. I feel a certain amount of fatigue myself with it, but it comes and goes for me. What do you think we should do? We've lost quite a few people along the way...
I'm headed out now to Kinky Boots. I went to the gym this morning because my trainer texted me at 5:10 that she wanted to reschedule for later in the week, but since I was up, I went to Planet Fitness for an hour. At least that's out of the way.
Have a good evening all.

Thanks goodness you showed up here Andi - I was getting worried wondering if I had done something wrong when no one else posted today. I have no idea what to do about the thread....lots of people seem to read, but not many respond. I know we talk more about personal issues than food, but we have been such a supportive group for one another! Glad you got to the gym this morning...good for you. Enjoy the movie...

Hi Everyone, Another challenging day as we got 4 more new kids coming at once this morning. One mother right off the bat told me he was going to be a handful which he was. I think with a lot of patience and being firm as well as redirection he will come around hopefully but it will take some time. Tell me why I chose teaching young kids again? Lol! On the positive side one of our parents who is Indian but not native Indian bought us a samosa. My partner didnt really know what it was until she showed it to me and I told her what it was. I had one for dinner and some of these small vegetarian meatballs that were made with some indian spices that I hadnt tried yet but seemed to go perfectly with the samosa. I have another one for tommorow as he bought us 2. Yesterday the water wasnt too bad. I was able to go in up to my waist. Since it wasnt hot once I was wet I didnt go back in even tho I could have.. I like reading and writing and look forward to reading the posts from everyone even if everyone doesnt always make it all of the time. And I know without it I'd be less motivated to work on my eating, just taking care of myself in general and just the support that everyone has mentioned. So I hope we will continue with it. Susie, glad you know the results fast. I really have to schedule mine. With work and getting essentially no break all day I dont have time to even call. ( roll eyes!) We arent supposed to use the phone in the room either. Maybe on Friday when the kids leave early I will make the call. Have a good evening!

Hi everyone, I ended up going to a vineyard yesterday, with my DB and SIL. It was a beautiful afternoon, and we just really enjoyed chatting, and tasting wine! There was really good live music (perfect accompaniment to sitting with a breeze and sipping delicious wine! Got home later, and both DDs and their boyfriends were up by the pool waiting to hang out with me. It was a nice day, with what ended up being quite a bit of wine and just enough distraction, to help me remember so many good birthdays and good times, and not let me dwell on missing mom. The vineyard is only a couple of miles from me, in Sharpsburg, and the only way to get to it is to drive through the battlefield, which is so beautifully kept. I will definitely go there again. Andi, I hope you enjoy Kinky Boots! Susie, glad you got that mammo out of the way for a year! Geez, I would hate to stop having you all here! I hope everyone is just busy with the end of summer activities, and school beginnings, and last minute vacations! It is just so great to be keeping up with you all, again, and I don't ALWAYS want to talk about food. Sometimes, its about the other things going on in my life that seem to be influential in how I manage my dietary needs, and how things can affect our eating issues. My difficulties with it are cyclical...I go through where I want to be eating all the time, or I have my stomach problems and don't care if I ever eat again . I didn't do a whole lot today. It was overcast today, but a bit muggy. I did some push mowing and a good bit of pruning some invasive weeds. Tomorrow I will spray those with an herbicide, and I will finish the mowing on my riding mower. I think the weather is supposed to be really pretty and warm again, so I hope to start with the outside painting at some point. I will be back tomorrow, but I think I am going to clean up the kitchen, and go to bed and read a while...If I'm going to keep waking up at 6am, I might as well go to bed at a decent time, so it will feel like a good night's sleep! HA! I hope everyone is having a good evening, RobinMD

Good evening everyone!
Sorry I didn't make it here earlier. I actually slept until a little after 9 this morning! I don't know what that was about, but it felt pretty good. I didn't have any plans to get out today because of the heat, so wasn't too stressed out about sleeping in so long. It did put me a little behind on some things I was working on around the house, but I mostly got caught up today.
So today was my first full fasting day. I've had 2 black coffees and all of my electrolyte water, so I'm in good shape and feeling pretty awesome. And my blood sugar is sitting at a lovely 83!
I spent a good part of the day working on the painted rock that I promised to the lady that reached out to me from my rock group and asked if I'd do one for her pup that passed last year. I'd worked on it a lot previously, but was just unable to get it to look right. I was trying to do a likeness of her pup, like the rock I did for Lily. Sadly, I started over on hers several times and it just kept coming out looking like Yoda. So I finally had to let her know that I was having to go in another direction, so made one with her pups name, a paw print and a saying at the bottom "Forever In My Heart". I need to let it finish drying over night and then I'll only need to do a couple of coats of sealant and then I can get it in the mail to her.
Susie - So glad you got your mammogram out of the way, and that all looks good! Yay!! I had no idea there were places where you could wait to have them read. I'll have to look into that and see if we have those around here anywhere. I'm sure there were probably those places in Atlanta, but I was certainly not aware of them.
Andi - Good for you for getting that gym time accomplished! I hope you enjoy Kinky Boots!
Janet - How many kids do you have total in your class? That age can be such a handful even on their own, I can't imagine dealing with a group of them all at the same time. Ohhh! That was so sweet of the parent to think of the teachers. I love Indian cuisine!
RobinMD - The vineyard sounds lovely. How nice to have that so close by. It sounds like you had a really productive day. Good luck with the paint project tomorrow.
I hope everybody has a great evening.

At the moment I have 14 on roll but our class is supposed to be 20 so they are still filling our class up. Some of the other classes may be full or just about full.

Janet - 14 would seem like plenty to me. haha. I can't imagine having 20 at that age. Sometimes it's just impossible to get them to sit still and focus for more than a couple of minutes at a time. My hat is off to you!
