Tuesday's goals
Keep on keeping on-- but focus a lil more on making healthier food choices. Keep smiling. Dive into the fresh strawberries and ignore the ice cream.

My BIL was given a new medicine to get his GI peristalsis moving again and they took him to ICU to have the medicine given IV. The nurses and doctors were set up in case there were bad life threatening side effects and there were some problems that righted themselves without intervention AND his GI system felt much better immediately. My sister went home and slept through the night without a phone call from the unit and went in positive yesterday to the hospital. I am waiting for the most recent update. I stay in touch via email and send her notes and yesterday a silly haircut with a mustached man with sideburns cut into the back of the hair...think he must have been getting ready to shave his head to do that! Anyway...still concerned about my sister and how she will get her husband home and hope she and he are doing okay and wish I could be there I did tidy the kitchen and cleaned off the counters. I have two book reviews to write and a book on sourdough baking to read then review by the end of today. I plan to make some whole grain today and am not sure if it will be brown rice, wheat, barley or something else or a mixture. Still have dry beans I cooked and will have them with the grain and perhaps some tomato sauce with eggplants or some other vegetable.
CLASSROOM NIGHTMARE: The thought first made me think of the shootings on campuses...my daughter's campus had an alert and she told us about the classroom situation and what happened (she was fine and so was her classroom but the classroom/student dynamics she described were interesting). It reminded me of the fire drills, bombing drills, gas mask drills, earthquake and tornado drills I have been through in my life as a student and teacher. ANYWAY...June...my second thought was a nightmare from my teen years in which I was in the classroom in my MAIDENFORM BRA...
TODAY I will:
* hydrate * have a fruit/veg at every meal * walk at least 20 minutes
JUNE: Skype is a godsend in regard to keeping in touch with family! The figs awaid my husband. They are probably getting rotten on the counter BUT as he is the one who will eat them...I don't worry too much. He doesn't want sugar in his jam so dries the figs then cooks them down and says this time he will add grape juice. Without sugar and a water bath he often has spoiled jam before he gets around to opening some of the jars. I forgot to set the timer this morning but...will walk eventually. Did get in 20 minutes yesterday using the timer method. You are wise to save the sick days for "just in case" and no doubt the extra class will help with expenses. I used to tell myself that a week/month from now...all of it would be behind me. I am glad you can channel your "inner grandma" to help you get through these difficult to plan and find time for days. Mentors are there to HELP and not to DISRUPT...good for you for being assertive! How interesting that the retired teacher that teaches still uses slides!
MJ: What a wrench that must have put into the lives of your daughter and her husband! I know that with my son traveling so much more and my daughter working as a nurse it can be tricky. They usually find a "nanny" or "babysitter" that is longer term. My DIL wants to keep her skills up and my son wants her to so they work it out. Now that their daughters are in second and third grade I think it is a bit more manageable with daycare programs say at the YMCA or at school that take up the slack when both are working. I am sure your children are thankful you are there to assist with the logistics of helping with all that needs to be done to keep all the balls being juggled up in the air and not tumbling to the ground! (I kind of wish I lived near my son so I could do some of the stuff they pay others to do!) Thank you for adding my BIL to your prayer list. I am eagerly awaiting the update and will let the group know when I know. I hope you get your menus planned and food in to create meals with AND keep track of the changes to the schedule as they come in. Still think it must be a bit like an air traffic controller or train scheduler person who makes sure the trains get where they are going without colliding! Must keep the brain cells active
BEE: Thank you for the update on your son. So glad he is doing well and that you are able to head to Houston.
ANN: it just hit me that this group has a number of people that have been under medical care. It is nice we have this group to share in! Glad to hear that you found out why you have the pain you do. Hope that the next visit to the doctor will give you the all clear to do whatever you want to do. Keep us posted about Sheila. I need to focus on the ghg's/exchanges but decided to deal with fruit/veg first. I don't do the milk thing so am not sure how to deal with ghg's without the dairy...hmm...
SUSI: Sorry you were feeling unwell. Hope the extra rest helped. Glad you had fun with family on the weekend.
AUDREY: I hope you managed to organize things enough to feel back in control. I have forgotten what the Clubhouse is... Hope your tired day yesterday is replaced with a great day today.
BECKY: Thank you for keeping by BIL in your prayers. Will update when I hear next. I have seen itrackbites mentioned by others but never looked it up...hmm...
LADONNA: Sorry to hear that Randy's uncle passed but he is out of pain now. I understand why you would be tired. Do take care of yourself!
Almost 10am...may lose electricity so will post this now. Electricity switches from government to local village generator at 6am, 10am, 2pm, 6pm, 12pm and then in the morning it starts over again.

June, Ann, Audrey, Becky, Cathy. Good morning. I need to read the last couple of days to catch up but that will have to wait a bit. I'm feeling infinitely better this morning and am heading to the gym. Despite going in so late yesterday, things went relatively smoothly and I didn't need to stay overly late to catch up. Waiting to hear if DGF will be up to coming down this weekend. I already suspect the answer is no. My handyman will be here a good part of the day on Saturday and Charlie has his annual at 10:30 Saturday so it really doesn't matter either way. The scale is not mad about the all you can eat breakfast buffet on Sunday so that's good.

Good morning all. Slept pretty well last night. Woke up a few times to but was able to fall back to sleep. Cathy great goals. I indent to continue to take it easy. If I am doing something that causes pain, I'll just back off. I am not a milk drinker. I get my dairy in with cheese and fat free Greek yogurt. Susi so happy that you are feeling better. Great the the breakfast buffet didn't 'show up' on the scale Will do a few more things online then sit and enjoy coffee Wishing AWF a great day.

Cathy Continued prayers for your DBIL. I hope you hear good news today.Great goals.I like Itrackbites because it's cheaper and if you aren't doing freestyle or counting calories it's a free app although Pro makes it easier on finding points values.
LaDonna Deepest sympathies for Randy's uncle.Prayers and (((hugs)))for both of you and his family.
Susi I'm glad you are feeling so much better.Good news on the scale not going up.
Ann Continued prayers for Sheila and your neighbors family.I hope you have a good day.

Home from WI. Looking forward to celebrating my sister’s birthday this afternoon. We’re taking a green salad, picking up a fruit torte, and flowers too. It will be a fun celebration. I’m got my aware glasses in place and will be tracking and hydrating. Have a great day everyone.

Took a quick jaunt to Hannaford's to pick up a few things and just walked around for a bit.
I heard from Donna (Sheila's daughter) and the surgery was a success! Thanks again for the prayers for her.
Kay has had company round the clock, so we haven't stopped over. Will wait until there is a lull.
Take care, all!
