WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

Good morning! I didn’t track yesterday. Food wasn’t great, but it wasn’t horrible either.
Nancy, Downton Abbey was 3/4 sold out for over a week from now? And on a Monday? Crazy!
Louise, nice weigh in.

I’m ready to get back to healthy eating. The last three days were a total free for all. I’m not getting near the scale because I know it’s a very high number and I just don’t want to see it. My focus is on healthy eating!! On a better note, the family BBQ was a nice small get together. Just my side of the family. So many laughs!! Very enjoyable!!
Nancy, yes - Saturday at noon, the Cheesecake Factory in Menlo Park....I won’t make that mistake twice....lol Jan, Glad you had a good weekend!
This week, I also need to work on my step count....

C40. D0. ;-) eating a cookie while I write this.
We've had a nice change in our lives. We now have access to a lake home 22 miles from our farm. Its a lovely 3 bedroom 2 bath, fireplace huge porch, dock. Its owned by DHs family and MIL moved into town.
Weve been here 4 weekends in a row. It's so good to get away from the 24/7/365 work at the farm.
But now my life is divided by 3. Home / lake / work travel.
I've been a total food rebel. Like "I'm having this BLT with regular mayo!". It's wierd, but I feel angry about restricting myself.
Nancy - what fun with the Downton Abbey tickets!
Lori - I haven't stepped on a scale in weeks. I'm might have to get one for the lake!
Jan - hope you are doing well.
Back on the road tomorrow for 3 days. Busy busy week ahead.
My best to all!! Kathy

Jan - Monday at 1 PM believe it or not. It would have been a big disappointment if I hadn't checked Fandango. I was just getting tickets to save time. I didn't realize you could reserve seats. Live and learn.
Lori - Seems we were both off the beam. I'm back in the groove yesterday and today. I spent most of today in the kitchen. I made the cheesecake, the muffins and the yogurt fluff. I'm about to roast my mushrooms. It should be an interesting week.
Kathy - So it will be your vacation home? Sounds awesome!! I totally understand the concept of food rebellion. I wanted those sweet potatoes with marshmallows darnit and I wanted an egg salad sandwich with bacon instead of my normal deviled egg without the bread or bacon. And I wanted the dark meat chicken, skin and all. Well hopefully I'm past all that. Every time I think I'm beyond the binging mentality, reality kicks in. Nice to see you back.

It seems like we all had some fun with food this weekend. Today wasn’t bad eating-wise for me. I didn’t even eat breakfast until 1:00, on my way to the bike path. I did lick the spoon after making brownies prior to that. I enjoyed a few bites of peanut butter brownies. I made a 9x13 pan for the family and the same thing for tomorrow’s soccer dinner.
It’s been an extremely productive day for me, even on top of my run, and 23+ mile bike ride that was 40 minutes away each way.
Kathy, who takes care of the farm chores while you’re at the lake? Does your MIL live in the house? You are creating lifelong memories for your boys there.
Lori, how was today? Are you back in the swing of things?
Nancy, great food prep on your part today! You mentioned the mushrooms. That’s one thing I didn’t get to today. I’ll put them on the grill tomorrow while I grill chicken for my family. I went to make a salad for dinner and lunch tomorrow and found the big box that I just bought yesterday was bad. Ugh.
