Good Morning Everyone!!!
I can't believe I slept in today until 7:30! The only thing that woke me was hearing Carly bang around upstairs getting ready - her and Ben are off to the Pgh Steelers GAME which starts at 1:00 but y'know that Tailgate starts earlier. They bought nose-bleed tickets from someone's Season Pass - it's the only way to get a ticket - and these cost them $120 each (expensive to be in nosebleed seats LOL) - Ben's housemate is a Seattle Seahawks fan and got tickets too (that's who they play) so a large group of them will meet down there for Tailgating and shennanigans - then drive home this evening - about a 2 hour drive one way.
Last night was fun - DH Gary, Carly and I drove out to the small town Ben is from, had dinner, then went to the HS football game. Gary loves football so he enjoyed watching Ben's team - Carly and I went to support Ben as he is one of the coaches. His team lost, big. Yikes. And because the boys played so poorly there was a Coaches meeting immediately afterwards so Ben text Carly and said, "Don't wait". We were a bit bummed as we drove all that way to chat a bit with him but we understood - plus it was FREEZING out there! lol We thought, eh, 68 degrees is sweatshirt weather maybe, but out there it was 58 degrees! We didn't figure "out in the country" it would be colder lol
Got home after 10:30 and so exhausted. But all good!

Carole - eager to hear about your trip to the Beach/Shore. Wow, you girls really made a day of it! And I saw you stopped for some shopping on the way there or back? AND dinner out? Whoo Hoo!!! Hope your back feels good and you could relax and really enjoy Cindi's company!
Sue - safe travels back to PA today. Hope the cousins are doing okay. Such a hard time for everyone.
Gabrielle - Hooray for having DS home! How long can he stay for before heading back to OR? That is a long train ride! I know folks around here catch the Amtrak train in the wee hours for a 14 hour ride to NYC (if you drove it about 8 hour drive) so I get how trains are a bit slower. Didyou get a good run in yesterday. I did work for about 3 hours in the office - felt really good to organize my area but today I REALLY need to schedule the week's project. It's crazy difficult as each teacher has a different Recess/Lunch/Specials schedule and we can't seem to get the pattern or flow. Plus we are finding DIBELS takes longer per child. But the results are great - we are just not there yet but we need this year as a Pilot Program year.
Jenny- WOW. That is something about Diane. And yes, I totally agree with your assessment that Diane's paranoia, suspicions, and anger describes someone who has experienced trauma. That sounds a LOT like how I felt at work for 2 years with DL coming for me, and our former CEO warning me over and over to get a lawyer and find a new job quickly because she was going to fire me...it really really caused me a LOT of stress. I'm still wary of her but this move to the new building has taken me off her radar for now. Now that you know this about Diane, I think the only thing you can do is patiently remind her to show you her job and encourage her to focus on retirement date. Good Luck with that~

Today is beautiful and sunny morning - calling for clouds later - Gary and I teased Carly we would look for her and Ben on TV! lol Not unless the scan the pre-Game tailgates in the parking lot! I need to get groceries then will visit with my Mom a bit. She's feeling a bit down that her brother just left after a week's visit. Maybe she'll be busy watching the Steelers Game too as she does enjoy football. If so, I'll spend an evening this week with her. Planning on meatloaf for dinner here. Will make potatoes in the slowcooker. Hoping everyone will have a Simple Sunday and find some down time

100 oz water ❌ 5 F/V ❌ No sugar ❌ No flour ❌ Journal ❌ No eating after 7 ❌
Not one of my better days - but lots of walking - fresh air - beach sand - sunshine - and chatting with my friend! I do not regret one part of the day!
Moving on to a SIMPLE Sunday... football day but doesn't sound like anyone is coming up - and Tracy has to cover a Pee-Wee FB game so Ken and I home alone!!
MY day will be set around paying bills, and getting this DR table cleared OFF once and for all! Nothing planned for food, so I guess I should work on that too!
Meanwhile... Zoë is not having a good morning... nothing seems to make her happy today - so I may have to "give in" and let her have "tablet time"... but for now Tracy is dealing with her - so I can refill my coffee and catch up!

Jenny: WOW - Quite a story about your Diane! GOsh I think if I were her - I'd want to just sit quietly in my corner and let the year go by!! I do just have to say I think it's "odd" that the "big boss" would share so much HR stuff with another employee... I mean I get it - he wants to let you know what's going on, but then again - should he be sharing so much info about her "past"?? Gosh - good luck getting your training - hang in there, a year isn't too long to deal with her... {{{hugs}}}
So nice that Audrey can learn sign language in HS!
Thanks but no, I don't think I intimidate Amanda - but I like the thought! LOL
Tracy took Zoë for a walk yesterday down to the elementary school - and the playground... other than that - Just hung out here - since it rained pretty much ALL day here... 3 1/2 hours southeast it was clear - bright - sunny... "perfect"!
Christine: Good morning - thanks for starting us off this morning... YAY for sleeping in! I did also - but then again I was out until 11:30 PM last night! LOL Funny thing - riding along, Cindi drove, even in the dark - and we hit rain on the way home - it was a short ride home! LOL We were so busy chatting... but yeah when my head hit the pillow I was out! Slept fairly well, awake a few times, went right back, slept until 7:30!
Sounds like a fun time for the kids today - better them than us, right??
Brr.... sounds like a COLD one last night - glad you all had fun! OH LOL I see you had a late night too!
Ya' know... the only time I can WALK without pain is on the beach! The sand is so good for me! LOL Even today - I am not in "pain" - I know I will be, but for now, none!
ANOTHER reason I need to live near the beach... to walk on the sand EVERY DAY! LOL
Yes... LOL Got a little sidetracked, as we were talking and she missed an exit off the interstate... then when I plugged the beach into my phone, it picked up NH, NOT MA! Took us about 45 minutes out of the way...but a beautiful day when we got there. We walked the boardwalk (over the dunes) to get to the beach... walked a bit there - then SAT... Just Sat Down...and talked - for over 1 1/2 hours! All of a sudden I said WOW it's after 3! LOL So we left the beach - Cin wanted to drive by where she (as a child) used to vacation, so we drove by there... walked over to view the boats in the canal...so NICE!
Then she had it in her mind to hit 2 Christmas Tree Shops! LOL So we did... LOVE their stores... she wanted to hit a third, but I kind of nixed that idea, as it would be another 30 minutes EAST... to shop and turn around and come back that 30 minutes plus some to get to the main store she wanted to go to! UGH Too much "browsing" for me... funny thing is all three stores have pretty much the same stuff in them! LOL Anyway... she loves to shop...
Then we hit the road home... I had my GPS "ready"... no way I wanted to miss any exits on the way home! LOL Decided to eat LATE dinner, so we could drive 1/2 way home then stop to eat - then make the 2nd half of the drive... So.Much.Fun.!
Sue: I hope you are well on your way back to PA... hoping the traffic flows freely for you to make good time!!
I am making meatloaf today too! LOL Ours will most likely be cooked tomorrow - not tonight... but great minds think alike, huh!?? Sorry Sue... no meatloaf in your house - I promise!
Sorry your DM is a bit down - yes, hopefully you stopping by will help.
Thanks - yes you as well - have a SIMPLE Sunday, and get some down time - since you worked part of your Saturday! Hopefully it helps you feel ready for the week ahead! ♥

Good morning!
Loving my calm Sunday morning. Heading into my WW workshop in a bit. I missed it last week with the run in SF and not being able to make it on Tuesday due to the CRAZINESS of the week. I do have work-work to do today but it can get done without too much angst. DS20 made it home and was exhausted. Apparently, the train was about 60 degrees (great for sleeping) but he didn't bring a sweatshirt! So he was freezing cold and had a hard time sleeping. He knows now. Sounds like the porters do a great job of keeping the cars quiet expecting that people are sleeping. He slept a lot yesterday, LOL but woke up in the late afternoon and we had a chance to visit....then we went out to dinner with him. DH got "bent out of shape" because he wanted to visit some friends...one of them picked him up..and spend the night there. I have to say, if he had been here, we would have gone to bed at 9:00 pm and he would just be sitting here. Sometimes I feel like DH needs to pick his battles. Anyway, he'll get over it! DS20 is staying until Wed (I think)...still deciding.
Christine: The Steelers game sounds like a fun thing for the kids! With the tailgating experience too---fun times! I love that you all go to Ben's game and it's a chance for DH to do something he enjoys too. Yes, I remember going to those games and sitting in the bleachers--the cold air blows from below and above...brrr! Glad that you could leave and get warm. Yesterday DS25 told me that his GF is coaching a middle school girls volleyball team and he is keeping score at the games. I would have LOVED to have a couple of 20-year olds wanting to do that when I was a middle school principal! I love that the two of them do things like that together. Glad that Dibels is working well....we have districts that have used it but have transitioned to Fountas and Pinnell and SIPPS (Dr. Shefelbine was located at our local university). Either way, I think that they are SO effective if the teachers use the programs with fidelity. Nice that you are seeing informative data! So glad that your 3-hour block of time will make the start of the week better for you. I just hope that you don't have to do it every week....maybe not having to do child care will help! Hope that you have a good day today...haven't even told my DM that DS20 is home. She has been kind of difficult this week and I am wondering if it will work out for him to see her on her schedule. Could just be frustrating. I might leave it up to him today to reach out to her. Good for you--you are being a better daughter than I am this week. So challenging!

Carole: How is that cranky 3-year old? I guess that we all have those mornings, but the 3-year old version has no filter! Your day yesterday sounded amazing---wonderful to read. Yes, you need to have access to sand for walking! It is still hot here, but as soon as it cools down I love to go to the Christmas stores too---sounds like a great day! Actually, this week is supposed to be much cooler--it was pretty miserable by the end of my run yesterday. When do you get your sleep study results? Yes, it will be interesting! So, thinking about the coast you were at yesterday, is that somewhere you might want to retire? I loves some of the coast by NH and northern MA...but I would think it could get cold there in the winter, huh? Hope that you have a good day...I need to plan a few meals and meatloaf sounds good!
Jenny: Wow to all of that info shared by the boss. Like Carole, I am a bit surprised about how much he shared too. It is good though that you are going into this knowing that she has had a rough time of it. I am with Christine...quiet encouragement for her to "gently slip into retirement". Sorry though that you are having to accommodate a person facing so many challenges. How great that Audrey is helping with make up for the play! I have always been amazed by the sets, costumes, and makeup! Glad that she still has her dancing too. I am heading to WW soon...hope that your meeting was a good one. Yes, DS20 has been talking about the weather in Eugene...he loves the rainy weather though (like you) so it's all good. This is scary fire-time so glad to get some moisture on the ground.

Sue: Safe travels to you...I hope that you are enjoying the quiet time to yourself. I have to admit, so much of my time is spent around other people, making decisions, listening to what they need....a drive alone is usually welcomed. I hope that this is the same for you.
Hello to Lisa, Shelly, and all who follow. Need to plan a few meals and get ready for my meeting. Stressful week ahead for DH as they harvest grapes AND we might get some rain...ughh. Why rain right now??? If the wind comes up, it will help. See you all later!

Trip was great until about an hour from home when 83 because a parking lot over the bridge/river....40 minutes of creeping along! Got home after a gas stop just before 4pm. Make great time!
Feeling accomplished...so glad I went for the funeral...so great to see so many family, so I haven't seen in decades! Uncle Rob so happy to see me and scolded me for driving alone! He's so sweet...
Hope to read some and get a little caught up...
