THINK 1ST THURSDAY.... Thankful it is FINALLY Thursday! UGH What a long week!! Not sure why - but MAN the days are just dragging this week!!!
Thinking 1st... B: coffee, water, protein bar - tea L: Salad w/ chicken & HB Egg, seltzer S: Celery w/ cream cheese, almonds, protein shake D: (Beach Body) IP Beef Stew
While dinner is cooking I can get a jump on the dining room - to have it ready for tomorrow night! Was going to ask to just take the day Friday - but can't... there is a bank sponsored thing going on like 11-2, that (of course) KAitlin signed up to help out at! So that means I can't be away from the office - while she is! I know, it's bank sponsored - they asked for helpers - but of course she would jump at "volunteering" During.Work.Hours.! Anyway... I am leaving at 2 - don't care if she gets back around 2 and still needs a lunch - Not.My.Problem!
SO how was "Work It Wednesday"?? For you all??
I did OK...
100 oz water ❌ 5 F/V ✔️ No sugar ✔️ No flour ✔️ No wine ✔️ Journal ✔️ No eating after 7 ✔️
I have to admit to 1 cocktail when I got home from work - but didn't even drink it all... also "dinner" was potato chips! UGH! No sugar/no flour, but also NOT GOOD! ARGH!!
Today is our waffle "birthday" breakfast... Won't allow guilty feelings if I have a part of 1 waffle... but right now, I am not planning on having ANY... that's why I will have my tea and protein bar while setting up the waffle bar!
Let me refill my coffee and BRB ♥

Still not tracking in MFP - I started yesterday, but got sidetracked... I did my journal, maybe that's all I need right now. SOOOO Happy to report down more yesterday - assuming it's the water pill? I also noticed a "difference" in putting my shoes on... I actually wore my closed toe shoes and didn't freak out over the "fit"! Oh and yesterday was Day FOUR not day 3, so today "should be" my last one... for a while... I feel fine - so I am wondering about continuing for a few more days - or take it one day at a time? Guess I should check with my "medic" here to see what she thinks. Maybe I should have her do my BP and see how it is compared to 2 weeks ago - before starting this pill!
I am noticing IF I try to push the "fasting" too far, I feel a bit shaky - not sure if that's the med or just me! I don't feel "hungry" but feel "shaky"...
That seems to be the only side effect of the med... the feeling shaky if I don't eat - and actually not feeling hungry as often as I used to! Unless that has nothing to do with the meds, and is just finally the fasting coming around to help me manage my hunger... SO many questions... but whatever it is - for now it is "working" so I won't question it - (much)! LOL
So we had a frost advisory last night! YUCK! Didn't happen - I don't think... when I got up at 4:#0 it was only 37, but doubt it had gotten down to frost overnight... supposed to be 70 today... sunny, so that will help!

Sue: Glad you were feeling a bit better yesterday - probably needed the rest after your hectic couple of weekends... hope the day went OK for you {{{hugs}}}
Jenny: Sorry you had a problem with your PCP, that sucks! Oh sorry too for your health issues - yes find another provider ASAP! YUCK... so thankful here that I didn't have ANY side effects of the shingles shot! OUCH! Double whammy - shingles and flu... Our flu clinic will be coming in a few weeks... then I think I have to call about my 2nd shingles shot the end of September? Hmmm, thanks for the reminder - have to pull it out and see when I had the first!
WOO HOO _ Glad Diane is getting back to normal... Thanks - but I guess no campfire for us tomorrow night... this darned EEE Virus "threat" is still out there - and to be honest I am not concerned... but one gal is SUPER Hypochondriac (SP?) and is worried/SCARED... I told her we don't seem to have mosquitoes around - I mean when we go out to the hot tub we don't seem to be bothered by them... but she insists with her delicate skin she would be a "target"... OMG... anyway... we'll just stay inside where we will be safe from the bugs! UGH!!
Sue: My med is TRIAMTERENE-HCTZ, and while I am not "seeing" the difference, it has helped some ( I guess)...I will also say my knees are not quite as "sore" when walking up and down stairs... so it's doing something - I just don't know "what"! LOL Do you ever wear sunglasses when you have a headache? Kaitlin wears hers a LOT, says they help the glare of the computer, lights, etc.
OH yes, I too still have my scale on the counter - use it most of the time - but not all the time!
Shelly: Sorry about the shorter workout - but hey... YOU DID IT!! I should have made a protein shake last night - instead of snacking on chips! OY VEY!!
So why IS the boss "around" so much these days??? Will he be popping in and out while you are gone??
Was going to message you - and ask is it a WO day? Or are you going for cardio... but didn't want to wake you - if you are getting some sleep! ♥ Remember not to put much stock in the scale when you are getting into a WO routine... focus on the way the clothes fit - or the way you feel!! I admit to WISHING I was hovering around 201! UGH!!
HA! I was thinking I need to start following YOUR LEAD! I need to WO... or at least MOVE.... hoping as my legs feel better - I can make it happen!

OK Must get moving... need to gather my stuff for breakfast - pack my lunch - and get on the road... still have to shower and get ready too! LOL Need to set my stuff out and then head to an ETeam meeting - going to be a whirlwind morning... but then probably a long boring afternoon!! LOL That's the life of being "caught up" I guess...
Hope you all have time to THINK 1ST THURSDAY... Plan for the day - focus on your goal(s) for today... WE'VE GOT THIS!!
♥hugs♥

Morning Carole and all to come...feeling 85% back to normal and I'll take that!
After I got off computer I tried to get some info on DM....called and texted Kris....still nothing! Face-timed with David and Katie and got a little "scoop" from the move of the furniture and the apartment set up! David took videos to show DM on Monday when they got home and she loved it! She was still nervous but it's understandable.
Finally called Jim & Annie and I got "enlightened"....Kris is in for a rude awakening now that Jim is in control. Not time to share any details now but lets just say...mom will be doing much better soon and Kris will heading for some "rocky roads of reality"!
Need to figure out some sort of lunch since pickin's are pretty slim!
See you everyone after work!

Good morning!
Wow, totally missed yesterday....had to do a fasting blood test super early so that I could get to a 7:30 am meeting. Glad that the test is over..have my endo appt next week and hoping that she is pleased with the results. Aiming to lower the blood sugar (non fasting was 102) and she is slowly lowering my thyroid meds since they consider the cancer to be in remission. I want them to leave it where it is right now--I don't feel tired and I can tell that my hair/eyebrows/etc. are coming back. I don't know if I mentioned it here but, for the last 5 years, I have been dealing with a lot of hair loss due to being on high levels of thyroid hormone to control cancer cells (if they were there). Hoping for good news next week. I am feeling SO much better this week having last week behind me---what a stressful time that was. I am fine with "busy" but not insanely-crazy-busy! So there is a lot of flu travelling around in CA...a bad cold/fever version and the stomach flu. I am washing my hands and making every effort to dodge it--so far, two people in our office have had it. Uggh. Wash your hands ladies!
Carole: I am so glad that you are hosting the friends at your house tomorrow! Sounds so fun! Yes, I agree that moving it inside makes sense if the one friend is so nervous. It wouldn't be worth seeing her anxiety. How great that they bring items for the meal too. I'll bet that you'll have a great time AND you don't have to drive anywhere ---the Hall Party House! Hope that work goes okay for you---sorry that Kaitlyn in dodging work again but I guess that it is "work-related"? I did notice your "No Wine" checkmark the other day--good for you! Sounds like the water pills are helping--you mentioned blood pressure. Did you have an increase? I was thinking that the water pills were because you felt like you were retaining water but I may have lost the details. So glad that your shoes are fitting and your joints seem less painful. I have noticed that, if I have a day with a lot more carbs, my joints seem a bit more achy when I run. I always thought that was "in peoples' heads" but I can feel it myself now. I still like carbs, but know that it will be a side effect if I overindulge. I have to say, I feel fortunate to have so much excellent wine all around me (thanks to the people we sell to) but I just don't drink that much of it. I enjoy it when I do, but maybe it is twice a month? I love a hot cup of tea at night to relax instead. Just a habit I have I guess. I do treat wine as sugar thinking of my "blood sugar" but I know what you mean about "added sugars" --I agree, two different things! You are doing great with your focus on healthy eating---even if you have a waffle (what a fun idea that is by the way). Hope that you have a good day today!

Sue: Oh, I am so glad that your headache is better---I can't imagine how painful a migraine must be. Not surprising with how busy you have been and the stressful situations that you have been dealing with. You are HOME this weekend, right? That will feel GREAT I am sure! Don't go telling other people you will do things for them....stay home and take care of YOU! Wow, I will wait to see what is up with the moving of DM and Kris--sounds interesting!
Christine: Wow to all of the activity at the school. Of course the nurse needs a private bathroom...I am still SHOCKED that this was left out of the plans--how crazy! I have to say that it is interesting that the Dean is dealing with the "challenge" of moving her office---maybe she'll get a custodial closet...THEN she can be angry and upset (sorry, still angry about that with you). Uggh to your poison ivy. When my poison oak was systemic, it was like you are describing but prednisone did help (although I despise taking it). Now I wonder if it really is poison ivy? Is there a chance that it is the same thing that DH is feeling? You are a TROOPER. Hey, a huge HOORAY--6# down is GREAT! Keep up the good work! So glad that you are able to cut back on the meds and feel good--that must be a great feeling for you! How is your eye? Are you done seeing the specialist? Hope that you have a good end to your week.
Jenny: Good for you for switching doctors. Here you have been looking forward to that appointment--what a letdown. You deserve to be listened to. Okay, you are one BRAVE lady getting the flu shot and the shingles shot on the same day!! I got the shingles shot in August and told someone last week that I just wasn't ready for the flu shot yet---will bite the bullet in the next week or so though. Glad to hear that Diane is becoming more agreeable--you deserve a break from that. I hope that you can get into the new doctor soon and have some relief from the things that are affecting you right now--you have had to wait long enough (in my opinion). Hope that today is a good day for you!

Shelly: Wow, you are really committed to your workouts. A HUGE kudos to you! You are so busy and you are finding a way to make it work! Thank goodness you realized that you forgot the shirt before you got your workout done! On my early days like that, I put my clothes in my car the night before and then pack the other stuff (makeup, blowdryer, etc) and take it with me when I get in my car in the morning...I have almost forgotten things many times but the putting the clothes out there helps. You seem to have a good system already--it took me a while. So happy for you going on the road to see the kids...you will have some beautiful scenery on your way to NV this time of year! So glad that you are doing this!
Hello to Lisa and all who follow...so a few things going on around here: 1. Grape Harvest--the workers LOVE picking at night when it is cool with headlamps. Poor DH has to be up all night as a result--yesterday they started at 7:30 pm and finished at 10:00 am the next day...UGGH! He looked so tired yesterday and was back at it last night...still is out there now. They will stop for a couple of days and he can rest. 2. DS20 wound up staying until Friday--he is selling some wheels that he has and may as well take care of it before school starts--the "Welcome Day" at his school is next Tuesday 9/24. He has to leave Friday at midnight and will arrive in Eugene at 12:30 pm on Saturday. 3. We planned Thanksgiving and will go to So CA for it -- I found a great deal on an airbnb right near my sister's and DH and I are looking forward to family time, but also having time on our own. DS25 and his GF are flying down on Thanksgiving early afternoon. We will pick them up. Then they will ride back with us (we are driving)...this way they only had to buy a one-way ticket. They will stay at my sister's (saves them $). I am looking forward to it. DS20 won't be there (his winter break is only 2 weeks after Thanksgiving and he doesn't want to deal with all the travel around Thanksgiving)...my sister's daughter (at college in NY) is in the same boat--she won't be there either. DM is flying down too so most of us will be together.
Wow, this was a long, selfish post! Sorry about that...hope that you all had a good day. Oh, and the chicken recipe came out good! I will find it and share here. Have a good day, ladies.

Evening all....bacon in the oven, ice maker defrosted and now a few minutes to catch up. My DF Karen will be calling shortly....she, like me, has been dealing with aging parents and not sure what came up but she texted....I need to talk. We were going to talk last night but then I got tied up with David & Annie. She had to run to her folks place and when she got home she was furious and just wanted to go to bed so she will call when she gets home from work which could be anytime...
OK Christine...need to find out what the laundry issue is....I'm curious! Jason does his own laundry so we never have to deal with any issues!
Carole...what's the occasion for you dinner on Friday??? The fire sounds nice as the evening chill comes....we are supposed to be in the upper 40's tomorrow morning but mid 80's by afternoon. It was only about 73° today...coldest of the week and we too could hit 90° on the weekend. Thankfully by adjusting how many and how far the windows are open the house is still 70+ degrees.....Will likely be back to the upper 70's by the weekend so no need for heat yet! Glad Tracy will be around on Friday to watch Zoe so you and Ken can enjoy your company! Enjoy!
Can't believe your 1st PT appointment isn't until 10/2.....that's 2 weeks from now! Yes, Carole, staying home on Tuesday was just what I needed and I think talking to both the boys, well Annie, Jim wasn't home but same difference, really helped relieve the last of my stress about DM and her move. More on that later!
Jenny...I'm with you, time for a new doctor...I am so thankfully that my doctor is never the rush in and out kind of person and surprisingly she is not usually running super late either....I make my appointments for 4:30-4:45 after work and she is maybe 5-10 minutes behind on a bad day.... Oh my, sorry you got the same reaction I did from the shingles shot....it really can make you feel crappy but after Christine's "shingles nightmare"...feeling crappy for a couple days is worth it to me! Glad Diane is in a better mood!
Hi Shelly....never fun to start the day rushed! Bummer about having to backtrack for a shirt, but proud of you for opting for a short workout instead of no workout! You Go Girl!
Carole....you just reminded me...as the weather gets cooler, it's soon time for the IP Beef Stew....that is so yummy and Jason just dug the potatoes....I always add a few potatoes because Beef Stew has to have potatoes. I know the last time I made it I made a note to add more veggies....need to check the freezer for stew beef!
LOL...I'm all confused with what day of the week it is...being off Tuesday has be all confused but now that I know tomorrow is Friday...I'm glad! ONLY plans are a flag football game for Kellen....he plays at an elementary school about 2 minutes from Walmart so combo trip! Sunday Colton has soccer at 4 pm, we will both go then come home for steaks and fresh baked potatoes for dinner! Plan to make Ham & Green Beans and another double batch of Squash Surprise for lunches and meals in the freezer!
Waffle Birthday Breakfast....sounds yummy! Nope...no guilt needed if you enjoy one! I do love waffles....they had Apple Spice ones at the hotel last weekend and I enjoyed every bite! I made the waffle, added a sausage patty and the egg whites made for "egg McMuffins" but it worked great for a nice filling breakfast so I didn't need to stop for anything except a potty break!
Yes Carole...if you were retaining fluid around your knees, the "water pill" will help that. Get your BP checked, see what they recommend....it could be temporary but if it is helping, I say keep taking it. While I'm on a mission to get off meds...some I know I will need. My gene pool is not always the best when it comes to BP, cholesterol and heart issues so I will likely never be med free.
WOW Gabrielle....you really did have an early morning yesterday! What was the blood work for?? I've got my fingers crossed thyroid meds can be decreased and your blood sugar is under control. Non fasting 102 blood sugar is really not bad at all...not sure why your doctor panicked!
Yes Gabrielle...migraines truly are debilitating....nothing annoys me more than when someone says "it's just a headache"....NO....it is NOT just a headache. I don't function. I will say that I took less meds this time and tried to utilize my oils and today....maybe thanks to talking to the "boys" about the DM stress I feel almost 100% now....
Time for some dinner....will fill you in on DM.....still need a few more details about her doctor appointment and what Kris is up to.....so glad all is falling into place!

Hi all,
I tried to think first today. Got fruits and veggies and dairy in. I made roast, red potatoes and green beans for dinner. I did have one glass of wine while cooking.
Yesterday we saw DD, DSIL and Kennedy. SIL was working table at U of I career fair for his accounting firm. So much fun!
I finally heard from extra help and I start work Monday. Now I need to figure out my office attire. I can't get by with jeans like before 🤔☹️
I need to clean up the kitchen the downside of cooking at home.
Got a list of errands for tomorrow. So long free mornings, for awhile, and I have no idea how long this job will go for.
Sweet dreams!

Hey all. Well no WO today. I thought I would go after work but I didn’t get out of there as early as I needed to and then I decided I needed to come home and start some laundry and maybe get some dishes done. I need to go flip some clothes into the dryer and then laundry is pretty much done. Dishes on the other hand....... well I need a new dishwasher ugh..... so I went to load it and there is a good amount of water standing. I ran it to see if it would drain and it doesn’t pump out to good. All I know is I don’t have the money to replace it but we will see when we get back from vacation.
Tomorrow is training day so I HAVE to get up and get to the gym. I am going to try and do a little walking if I can while on vacation. Not sure what all the plans are. Probably it much of anything.
Carole think first was not a good day for me. Waffles for breakfast and a quesadilla for lunch. Got a smoothie on my way home from work but then for whatever reason (wasn’t hungry) I had a peanut butter sandwich. Ugh......
Oh Carole sorry you can’t take off all day tomorrow. I’m the same way I wanted to take off but got to go in and work until around 12 or 1. Then will have to come home and pack and wait for DH to get off work.
I need to start tracking but seem to have troubles putting that as a high priority. I don’t know why it’s so hard but it is very difficult for me these days. Actually for several months now.
Not sure why the boss is in and out so much lately. I think he just gets antsy and bored. His wife is with the new baby and hopefully he will go back soon. He is usually in every morning just to see how sales are and how the store looks and coffee then he is usually gone the rest of the day. Well he gets in moods and I guess he is in one now and in and out.
Thanks for thinking about me in the early mornings. Don’t hesitate to message me. If I’m sleeping good I don’t usually wake to text messages but at that time I’m usually laying in bed just catching a couple extra zzzz in between snoozes. Not actually full I’m asleep.
Haha I need to FOLLOW YOUR LEAD!!!! At least you track your food. I just eat it lol!!! Maybe someday I will be as good as you. Just not into it.
Sue glad you feeling better. Hope tomorrow your 100%. Glad DM is looking forward to the move and glad she will be doing better I’m assuming financially. Sorry Kris want taking care of DM as he should be
Gabrielle hope they keep your meds where they are. I know how feeling tired due to thyroid can really be stressful. Ppl don’t realize the hair loss is stressful too. I’m so sorry. Since I have long hair I seem to lose a lot but I don’t know if that is thyroid or just from the long hair. My hair is actually still pretty thick so I assume mine is just from normal hair falling out due to combing and such.
Oh DH was talking about wanting to see the big Redwood trees but not sure if we will get to do that. I told him I would ask you where a good place to go is. I know we can’t go to the coast but wondered if there is anything closer to NV than the ones on the coast. Never been out there so wasn’t sure. Probably won’t get to this year but maybe we can plan something for next time.
So how long will harvest take. Hope they take that break for a couple of days so DH can rest up. Working at night would definitely be best I wouldn’t want to be picking grapes in the heat of the day either!!!
Sue hope you and Karen can get some ideas from each other on how to take care of your parents.
Oh I am like you and DH and I do our own laundry. I wish we would’ve done this all our married lives lol. About 11 years ago we bought a solitaire and that’s when we started doing own laundry. Best move I ever made.
Lisa good job getting fruits and veggies. I definitely do not get enough of anything in. I just need to focus and eat better.
Ok it’s after 10 and I have to train so got to get to bed. Talk to you soon
