WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

21 points 1779 calories 27 APs
Iβm starting to feel better, but not 100%. Itβs been one of those weeks where I just feel like everything is going against me, and Iβm tired of giving so much to so many people. Iβm just worn out I guess. I need a break, and there isnβt one in sight.
I actually had points to use last night so I enjoyed a glass of wine. I discovered a seasonal wine last year....apple pie wine. Dave picked some up for me. So, so good. Kind of sweet, but not as sweet as a Riesling or a dessert wine.

Last night's dinner went really well. It was nice to catch up with GF and food not be the focus....
Nancy, I really enjoyed Ruby Tuesday. Sad to see so many closing (two in my area closed). I had the salad bar, petite sirloin and grilled zucchini. I actually entered everything in MFP yesterday morning and made it work to fit in my 1200 calories. Excited about tomorrow - its going to be great weather!!
Jan, Glad your starting to feel better and good to see your not turning to food (like I did last week)....The wine sounds delicious (and I'm not a wine drinker) and a great way to end the day!!
Kathy, hope yesterday went well and today is even better!!
Hi to Louise!

I can't make my WW meeting tomorrow so I decided to go to the meeting at our clubhouse which takes place Friday mornings at 9. I was happy to have lost 3.6. Of course that followed last week's WI which was up 4.2. But still.........
Jan - You need to practice just saying no every once in a while. As long as you say it nicely, you may be surprised at the results. I remember a time when I considered a request to babysit the grandkids required a positive response. I would automatically cancel anything else on my agenda. Over time I learned to say "sorry I bowl on Tuesday mornings" or whatever. Suddenly "can you babysit" started to become a question rather than an expectation. I realize you can't do it with everything, but I bet there are some areas where a simple no can work nicely for all concerned. Each time you do it, your level of resentment will decrease exponentially. Possible?
Lori - I used to have broccoli and half a baked potato with my petit sirloin since I have so much salad at home. DGK would get the salad bar and veggie with hers and have the other half of my potato. The best news was when they discontinued the cheddar bay biscuits <g>. I'm excited too. 12 noon at the CF. See ya. BTW having isolated our lunch, I have the rest of the day planned out at 13 points and 711 calories with the option to add some fruit if desired.

C40. D2. OP. Tracking. No exercise, yet... Everyone's hair is on fire at work ;-) I should just close down the computer and get outside. I put in 40 hours of work before the end of Thursday morning.....
Hungry - will find lunch or a snack now. Wish I had some eggs, but am down to two chickens and they lay 1-2 eggs per day, which we eat pretty quickly.
Jan - hope you feel better and I agree with Nancy about being able to say 'no' , though I am NOT a role model for that -lol.
Nancy - nice that you have a WW meeting at your clubhouse. So close and convenient. My nearest meeting is 30 miles away in the next state over - South Dakota!!
Lori - great choices at the restaurant and nice to focus on your friends.
DD is coming home from college with 3 friends this weekend. So excited to see her. Lots of housework to do in the next couple of hours. Wish me luck!!
Kathy
