No update on BIL. My sister wrote before heading in to the hospital and have not heard since. I hope it was a good day for both of them. I know they want to be home and in their own space again.
Hubby went to Beirut and came home tired. He is outside watering now and will head to the post office later. I finished two books and started a third. Have written the two reviews. Have a LOT of books to get through by the 24th.
The scale is down...might be the lowest this year. Journaling every BLT and staying within calorie allotment does bring the weight down!
LYNN: Glad you enjoyed the AARP meeting. Hope you got the laundry done. I had farina this morning (cream of wheat) with a peach and tbsp of maple syrup. I am tired of eggs, too, so switch it up with toast with PB and a fruit, cheese on toast with a fruit or hot cereal of one kind or another. The leftover cream of wheat I put into tins and slice the next day or use for dessert later in the day.
BEVERLY: Glad the family meal was enjoyed by all. I hope the appointment with the hand specialist goes well. What kind of soup are you looking forward to making? You could have overnight oatmeal instead of hot if you want a change for breakfast.
CHERRY: Glad Roger had less leaking in the basement to deal with. I wonder if it will ever stop raining long enough for the farmers to harvest their crops? 77 outside during the day sounds nice. Curious...How long has Roger been at the church he is in now? Will he get to stay there forever or will they move him in the future? And, is his housing provided or does he own his home? When I was growing up the ministers were changed about every seven years...kind of like the people that go as missionaries or diplomats...never really allowed to "settle in".
PAM: What a wonderful way to spend the day - sisters, talk, fun, sharing and laughter!

Good morning. The priests seem to move approximately every 10 years. Some stay put longer though. I don't remember how long Roger has been at this parish, but it hasn't been 10 years. He moved from a parish next to this one when the priest retired. Housing is provided. He serves 2 parishes. When he first came there he found the rectory at the church where he would normally stay had a serious mold problem, so he lived at the church rectory at the other area he serves. Then a house became available close to the church at the first parish and the church bought that, so that is where he is living. I hope he gets to stay there because he is fairly close to me and is able to be here often to help me.
Today I have my annual checkup with the doctor, and I'm going to get a haircut, along with a couple other errands I have to do. My doctor appointment is at 11, so I have about an hour and a half before I have to leave. We have showers and possible thunderstorms predicted today through tomorrow. This has been an unusual fall.
Have a good day, beaches.

Good morning!
I am back from getting a cat scan on my sinus area to see what is going on with my allergies. I have to go to dr on Tuesday to find out results. It was very easy an only took a few minutes. I stopped at the store on the way home to pick up fruit and salad stuff. I also picked up some pumpkin flavored hummus...We'll see what it tastes like and I will let you know. They also had a chocolate one, but I left it there....haha
More laundry on the agenda today and maybe some reading.
This morning was a bit crazy...my DD had to leave early for a conference on Long island, DH had to leave early to get to court and I had to be at the DR at 7:30. We arranged shower times last night. We have two bathrooms, but wasn't sure if the hot water would last with two going at once. All was well...
Enjoy the day all!

Morning friends,
The hand dr released me yesterday. After seeing 5 different drs over the last 6 mos, having test after test run (some painful), 10 different therapy sessions, being fitted for hand braces, special gloves, etc, etc, etc, they say there is nothing they can do for me. The final diagnosis is that I have 2 different kinds of arthritis in my hands, one type affects my fingers, (they are painful & crooked), the other type affects my thumbs, causing pain to shoot across my palms. Then I have carpal tunnel. So it is 3 different things, all feeding off each other. I have had carpal tunnel surgery 3 times, so they don't think I could benefit from it again. There is surgery for the thumbs but dr said he would only recommend it if the pain was unbearable.(He left that up to me). As long as I can take care of myself, dress myself etc. I will just try to go on as I am. This is why I don't play games or spend ling periods of time on the computer. Moral of this story, NEVER, NEVER sort mail for 31 years, it will ruin your hands forever!!
Lynn, aren't you glad that you didn't have to fight for the shower this morning? Being retired, you can enjoy your shower at your own leisure. Great, huh?
Planning a trip to Wal-mart today, need a few staples.
Great Friday everyone!!

KOKO this beautiful fall day. I started the day by making my grocery list. I got in a workout and then mailed my brotherβs birthday cards. I then went grocery shopping. Iβm hydrating with water and continue to get in more steps. Relaxing now as I keep focusing on staying blue. Sleep well tonight beaches and keep smiling.
