Got us started but that's it...hit my snooze a couple extra times this morning so running a bit behind.
No plans for tonight...Jason is going to the football game with Sarah's gang tonight so I'm just home to relax, regroup and figure out the time frame for the weekend!
See you all after work!

Good morning!
Aaaahhh...Friday at last! Thanks for starting us off today, Sue. The heat is returning here, but at least we have our cool mornings which make it feel more "fall-like". It makes it a lot easier to sleep. DH has a few days off of picking (some of the wineries delayed as the cooler temps meant the ripening slowed down). He got the chance to rest yesterday, then we met friends for dinner (planning our Washington DC trip), and a good night's sleep last night. I think he'll feel much more rested when he wakes up. The harvest takes probably about 7 full days of picking grapes--this time it is being spread out over a couple of weeks due to this pause. Driving to Sacramento today, but Fridays are super easy on the freeway so it's okay. Still taking Airborne to fight off the bugs that people seem to be battling--my flu shot is next Thursday at the hospital Board meeting.
Sue: So glad that you have a nice, normal weekend! Sounds like you have your meal planning coming together---it is going to be a good one for you. Glad that you got some peace talking to David/Annie and feeling better about DM. I am wondering if, at some point in the future, you all plan a get together in TX, she will REALLY feel settled and you can feel good about seeing her in a better setting. Not right away, but maybe in the Spring or something? Seems like it would be nice for all of you Thanks--yes, hoping the blood test results are positive. Everything looks great except for that glucose # that she points out. This time they are checking my A1C too so at least they are looking further than a temperamental glucose #. I am SO tired of blood work. I don't want to count how many blood tests I have had in the last 5 years. We are timing our 2nd Shingles vaccine around my marathon and DH's 100 miler in early November. We will get it around the 2nd week in Nov and have time to "recover" if needed. Since we didn't really react the first time (I had a sore arm, but nothing else) hoping that this time is okay but I have been warned that the 2nd shot is worse. I dread that! So much better than getting shingles though! Hope that you have a good day!

Lisa: YAHOO for the job on Monday! Perfect timing to so that you can have some spending money for the holidays! Glad that your patience paid off. When you work, does DH help out with prepping dinner, etc? I have been talking to DH about being more "formal" with planning meals and him helping out and he doesn't mind at all....nice to have a helper! Enjoy your last "work free" weekday for a while!
Shelly: Good job getting to the gym before your trip. Hey, why can't you walk for exercise while on vacation? You will be in new settings and it can be your morning thing that you do on your own to get your day started. You could even listen to a podcast or something while walking. I was looking at the map and see that you might be travelling through Utah, CO, AZ? Have you ever been through St. George Utah? Beautiful place! And Southern CO is beautiful as well. Or, better yet, how about Northern AZ and go to Sedona? OMG--have you ever been there? You SHOULD see Sedona! It is magical.....hope that you have time to do at least one stop to see some sites! Most of the big trees are Sequoias in CA and OR/WA which might not be on your route? Not sure...
Okay, gotta go girls. Want to pack my own lunch because the lunch that they provide at this meeting is usually SUPER heavy. Have a good day!

Good morning! I think I'm sneaking in a pedi this morning before I start work next week. Still want to be able to wear sandals and my pedi from before the wedding (early August) does not have its nice look anymore and needs more work than just a polish touch up which I could do myself, but considering it a splurge.
Sue-sometimes the unplanned weekends are the best. I hope you have a good Friday at work. I don't have any plans either, it is supposed to rain here most of the weekend.
Gabrielle-I am hoping for good test results for you. My second shingles shot is at the end of October, just had a sore arm for a few days. The grape harvesting reminds me of growing up on a farm, except the time frame for grape harvesting is much shorter. I hope there is a bountiful harvest.
I need to get going to get all my errands done and maybe catch one last episode of the Young an the Restless for awhile. But I guess I can say that I was watching it when Victor died. Also thinking about lunch and dinner - planning is so important and I am so bad at it!

T.G.I.F... WHEW! I made it! What a long week this has been! I opted to sleep "in" this morning - until 6, then it was time to just jump in the shower and get myself ready for work. I had enough time made up that I could leave at 1! WOO HOO!!! Now I am just chillin' for a minute (or two) before I hit the ground with my cleaning and prepping for tonight!
MY "GREAT" news is... from my highest weight in June (home scales) I am DOWN 15.6#! I can't believe it!! I have lost 9# this week - on the water pill... or from my fasting... or from whatever... doesn't matter how/why - just that this is the jump start ( I hope) that I needed!! I can honestly tell you my knees feel so much better - with (only) 15# gone...and my eating is more on track ( for the most part). I am not as "hungry" as I always thought I was... I don't know the WHY - but am pretty happy none-the-less!
Still no wine in the house - and none to drink since last Saturday! Even with the dinner party tonight - I did not buy wine... I may have a cocktail or two... but will have some seltzer "ready", so we'll see how this goes! LOL
Tracy gave me the go-ahead to continue the water pill for the rest of the week... so today and tomorrow... hoping when I go off of it - I do NOT see a spike in weight again!
I FEEL GOOD... and don't want to lose this feeling too soon - so hopefully I will stay on track, and continue to lose.

Sue: cannot WAIT to hear the details! When is DSKris taking DM to TX?? Sounds like David and Katie got things moved and she will be all set??
Gabrielle: UGH! Just what you do NOT need is a virus of any sort! Yes... around here too - I am doing some Emergency and washing hands... YAY fr trying to get off the meds... Yes, the water pill IS for the fluid retention... my BP is fairly "low" anyway, so she doesn't want it to go any lower on this med. I am not (that) concerned, but also do not want to risk anything.
I have gotten back to having my hot tea at bedtime this week - been chilly, so take a cup up to bed - while I read. I think my sleep is actually improving - but still holding judgement on that! LOL Hmmm, thinking about the carbs adding to my joint pain - I can see that... will have to try to take note next time... oh tonight - having Pasta, with the WW Chicken Parm, and garlic bread. I will have to see what I feel like tomorrow!
LOL Yes, Hall Party House - such as it is! Oh well, hopefully they are good enough friends they don't care about the house! I just want to spend some time with them before they head South. They are getting "older" and have some health concerns...
OH my... what a schedule for harvesting!! Oh YAY for DS staying a couple extra days!! Ooops, he must be heading to the train about now... safe travels to him ♥ {{{hugs}}} to you! So excited for your family travel for TG... YAY for you getting an Air B&B to have some quiet time...
LOL Nothing at all selfish about your longer post... LOL Mine are always LONG...
Sue: NO true "occasion", just friends leaving early October for FL, and we haven;t made time to get together with yet this summer! We are only up to 76 today - so may need a fire in the living room tonight! LOL Turns out Tracy & Zoë are going out tonight - heading to Wal-Mart... car seat exchange program - and my sisters need a new seat - so they will be out of the house for a while! Oh yes, I have to agree - I am so thankful that my Dr. never cuts me short! I will say she is always running behind - but since I take more than my "allotted" time - I fell OK about her being behind! LOL I agree - potatoes in beef stew is a must!! We actually had a beef stir fry last night... easier and quicker than even the IP stew! I will get more stew beef tomorrow to plan for it this week!

Lisa: Good job on the thinking FIRST! WOO HOO for seeing the kids and DGD... must have been a fun treat! Oh well, working is good - jeans would be great - but working in dressier clothes is good too!
Shelly: Aww, I hear ya' on the dishwasher... mine is plugging along - so haven't replaced it yet. Someday I know it will give out and I will be angry with myself for NOT getting on it ASAP!
OH YAY! You got out early today too?? What time are you hitting the road???

Sue: Thanks for starting us off this morning - glad you got some extra sleep and have no plans tonight!
Gabrielle: OK I am jealous - I WANT THE HEAT BACK! Oh speaking of DC... I for get where you are staying. Trying to coordinate where would be easiest to meet (and Tracy is trying to reserve parking)...
Oh dear - I had NOT heard that the second shot could be worse/different reaction than the first! UGH!
Lisa: LOL I too am planning a pedicure - tomorrow... just feel the "need"!
OK Enough being lazy - mus get a few things done here - tehn get dinner started... at this point I am not sure how many will be here... but I will try to get firewood brought up for a fire in the living room - just to take the chill off...
Will be in touch tomorrow - I have no alarm to set - Zoë will be here - but she is usually a good sleeper.
♥hugs♥

Hey all. Just wanted to check in and let you know we made it to my parents. Got here about 9:30. Visited a bit and now going to bed but wanted to let you all know we are officially on vacation!!!! YAY!!!!!! Will go north of Cheyenne Wyoming to DS Tyler’s house and spend the night. Then from there it’s another 10 1/2 hours or so. I’m sure with stops it will add at least another hour. We will be going North into Nebraska when we leave my parents and hit I-80. Them it’s just I-80 all the way Not sure if we will spend 4 or 5 full days then 2 day drive back home. Ugh I hate that about our trip.
Sorry guys no personals but got to get some sleep. Going to be a long day tomorrow.
See you all soon
